I am planning a Colombia and Dominican vacation with time split between the two countries. I am trying to build an itinerary of (NYC area) USA to Medellin to Santiago, DR back to the USA (NYC area).
So far I am at about $2,000 in airfare for the three legs. I have to believe that there is a cheaper regional carrier that goes between Colombia and the Dominican Republic. Any of you Latin America travel vets have any tips? Thanks.
$2000 is insane. For that much money, you can go somewhere exotic, like India or Australia. I think that for $2000, you can pretty much go anywhere in the world. Don't waste that kind of money on a triangle path in the Carribean.
A typical round trip flight from NYC to POP is about $650. Jump on anything less than $550. Interestingly, a trip to MDE is a little cheaper even though its alot further, because most of that price is from POP airport taxes. NYC to MDE is typically about $600. Jump on anything under $500.
