Prosal ; Absolute twaddle ; Not all (thank god) see the world from your shallow perspective..
Ok. So lower and lower-middle classes in Brasil (and consequently, in all emerging countries) don't want to improve their lifestyle.
They don't want to dress well, have a nice car, go out dining in nice places, travel abroad, ect ect. And status upgrade means nothing for them.
One should grant you a Nobel Prize in Economy and Social Sciences. And of Mongering.
Most of the wealthy Brazilians that you meet in the high end brothels, are some of the most obnoxious, miserable, mau educado "bar stewards" on the planet.
Agree on that. Nonetheless if you had an ounce of intelligence and if you knew a bit this country, you'd know that most of those "obnoxious and mau educado" wealthy brasilians you meet in the high-end brothels where once "not wealthy and mau educado" low-end brothels clients who just went up on the social ladder. And you'd know also that one of the dreams of most "mau educado non-wealthy brasilians" low-end brothel clients is to become those very same "obnoxious and mau educado" you meet in high-end brothels. See what i mean, or is it too complicated for you?
BTW, on a cultural note, "mau educado" is not portuguese, you clown; "mal educado" is.
Prosal's a sad, sad little tool. Because I mentioned I buy fresh foods at low prices and take buses to the big cities for business trips (who wouldn't) he jumps to a conclusion a lower class existence. I have a great home, new car, and all the nice furnishings from the US which makes my home a great entertainment place. I built a nice bar in my home with a stripper pole and have a big hot tub. I am a great cook and my many friends here come to try new dishes (and they bring me all the beer, wine and booze to stock my home bar). And, best of all, I have a great lady here that is open to some great explorations together and brings her friends into our relationship.
Everyone here is after the brass ring: tons of great free sex. I have built that life here. I got my home here about 9 years ago. So without having any home, car and loan payments; paying zero for sex (unless we decide to explore and monger); and with cheap prices on great fresh foods, I can certainly say I live inexpensively. But I have a great full lifestyle. Even my housekeeper is a lot of fun.
I pity those douchy guys that have to buy expensive suits, shiny accessories and flash cash to try to get noticed. (I am sure some are trying to compensate for their small package.) Me, I sit back and let it all come to me. I spend my energy on my business ventures here.
And, yes, you are right, the outdoor food market can be a very social and fun place. I actually met a few nice young ladies there in the past. I offered to cook them an interesting meal and they eagerly accepted. And nothing like walking to a bakery to buy fresh bread first thing in the morning.
Sounds like you have the life, my friend. My hat is off to you. Someday when I grow up ....

Lol
Hughdad, the fact that you live a lower-middle class guy in Brasil doesn't make of you a cool person.
Macunaima lives there since much longer than you and is still an asshole. And it seems that you're on your way to become a Macu-bis. :)
No Prosal, there is a Hugh (excuse me, Huge) difference between someone who is a success in life and someone who never will be. Academics and governmental bureaucrats can only dream.

Funny to see 2 of the biggest trouble makers on this board go at it and argue about basicly nothing. Why not pm wach other with this lovefest.

Living the dream
Hughdad,
Life sounds good! You are living the dream that many of us have! I hope to live a little more of my dream for 2 weeks in June and a month in November.
My 2 cents - calm down guys, life is too short to bicker and argue, let's talk about the ladies.
Hughdad, the fact that you live a lower-middle class life in Brasil doesn't make of you a cool person.
I don't care one bit what you think about my life. You are way off base. Nor do I aspire to be a "cool person" (what is this the 70's?). I'll leave all that to you as you globetrot in search of exotic pussy. I don't have to leave my house.
My business ventures here are moving along great. That is my focus, capitalizing on the opportunities here. I set myself up to be in this position as I saw it coming several years ago. I have everything I need and want, and more.
I am sorry that Brazilian girlfriend of yours broke your heart. Seems like she was more interested in your wallet than you as a person. That is the danger in pretending you are something that you are not. "Keep it real, dude"

Maybe this would have been better filed under "Living in Brazil", but it's where it is.
The life you're describing here, Hughdad, sounds well-nigh perfect to me. You've obviously found a home where you are, living as you prefer. You don't "have to feel important," you don't have to show off, to be happy with yourself and your life.
"Throwin' cash and showin' flash" may be what some of us need to feel like a big shot (I refer, with sarcastic pleasure, to Billy Joel's "Big Shot" for those old enough to remember him). And, yes, some of us equate "the good life" with "being the big shot." If that's what floats your boat, go have your fun, but don't look to me (or Hughdad) for pity when your fun runs out.
If this doesn't meet with the approval of "Antônio Prosalheiro", BFD.
Because I said I live inexpensively here you say I am lower-middle class here? I have everything I need to leave in comfort and in the class I want. I have a new car here, a steady lady (with friends) and a separate building on my property which is the base of my businesses. I entertain often and my friends love hanging on my US furniture. I have a bar with a stripper pole, a karaoke machine, and I am learning to play guitar.
I take buses because it is convenient to get into the major cities that way. I can get on a cheap overnight bus and sleep and wake up in Rio tomorrow. Or I can fly. I can be in SP in several hours.
I travel abroad all the time on business (here half the year approx.) I dress casually in my nice US wardrobe (left the suit and tie world behind). I have zero use "flashing cash and fancy accesssories".
I buy my fruits and veggies at a farmer's market because they are the freshest you can find anywhere. I also have a bakery I walk to at 6 am every morning for over fresh bread. There are also some great restaurants in town and I am actually partnering on a new one.
If this is a life that sucks....I love living the sucky life. Go flash your cash and fancy status accessories in the hot spots.
All the best.
... My lady is a beautiful young mulata sweetheart with a ever present and wide bright smile, a laugh that is contagious, beautiful round firm breasts and a cute bubble butt you can bounce a quarter off of. She is also smart and only about half as crazy as most Brazilian women ...

Sounds perfeito amigo!!!
Everyone´s perception of happyness is obvoiosly different.
Some guys live for the glitz and glamour and others the simple, and layed back.
Both styles of living are great if makes YOU happy, and only YOU can be the judge of that.
Have fun amigo, sounds like you are!! :)

err..
Since the forum is about making love not war [ :) ], may I steer it back to the love making?
Sperto just suggested that prices for sessions were negotiable in Bar Florida. [post]1029008[/post]. This is intriguing.
Has anyone tried negotiating in Casarao, Bar 22 or places like that? I thought only the free range garotas were negotiable, so at bars and termas I just say the rate that is posted here for a given place, and they say yes, and then I fuck them.
Side note:
Apparently Flavia's has closed and Ave Rio Branco 156 Sala 1526 now has Duda and Carla, which were a couple of Flavia's anal and CIM princesses. It's new to me.
