I get the feeling that there are more than a few punters here who have spent quite some time at SOL and have come to realize that a lot of the girls there (or girls who used to work there); eg Pla, Joy, Tuk, Lek, and Rabbit to name a few, are genuinely caring and wonderful women (and amazing fellatrixes to boot).

Its important to realise that its a girl's character that matters.
Labelling as either decent or *****s is too simplistic.
Sounds like old religious programming to me.
Whether a girl has ever resorted to P4P in desperate financial times is not that relevant to her overall character.
Some P4P girls have far better character than some officially non-P4P.

I've got no problem with them. I know many ex P4P girls in Thailand and all over the world and for the most part they are good, decent women married to nice guys.

Thanks for making this posting. I don't have the experience in Thailand that most readers have (just look at my posting #'s! ), but I could not agree with you more.
There are three TGs that I have maintained some degree of contact with; one works in an MP, another at Soi Cowboy, and another I met as a FL. I am sure they would not be interested in me if I was not a paying or potential paying "customer" when we first met. But even with that as an initial basis of contact, I have had a wonderful friendship and relationship with all three of them. We've had great nights together, along with days and boat rides and dinners.
Are they P4P? Sure. Are they classical wh***s? Well, they accept my money so I suppose some of you could say that. But I think that is only part of it. At the end of the day, they want a little better life for themselves, their families. They have chosen the P4P route, probably for any number of reasons. So they go to hotels with farangs. Does this make them evil people, or "sinful" (to follow on your religious programming comment)? No, I think they are being pragmatic, given conditions and opportunities in Thailand, and they are doing the best they can, given the resources they have to help their families and their children.
Of the three, one of them works the "business" with more enthusiasm and energy than the others (and makes more money), but at the end of the day they all want what most people want everywhere. As one point or another, all 3 confided in me about not liking the P4P business, but could not see any other alternatives for themselves. I cannot solve all the problems in Thailand, or even in their lives, but I can treat the P4P girls I am with with respect and understanding. In return, I have gotten some great experiences the memories of which will last a very long time.
And I don't consider them wh***s, and they have never treated my like a "john". One of them took nice care of me when I got food poisoning a while back. Another came with me for ST, spent the night and next morning and never a asked for a thing.
You get what you give in this world. If you treat people like shit, it will come back to you. Karma, perhaps.

That is a very difficult question! and depending on your past experience as a monger, you will answer differently.
Some guys married the first Bar Girl they met, some married one after a few years, some dated ex-Bgs, some are married to ex-prostitutes but met them outside their regular work so have no clue... the list is long.

These debates are tiring after a while as we all have different opinions.... Some posters think they are all who**s, some think they deserve to be treated like shit, some think they pick to work in this field, etc... And we're never going to change each others opinions or mind about them.
What's that old saying, until you've walked a mile in their shoes don't judge folks. Yes there are millions of women who never enter prostitution but women all sleep with men (or other ladies) for support.

Not only in govt, but also in the business world, it’s quite a scene watching some of the things twenty educated employees will do when competing for one or two promotion slots.
