I'm making a return visit to Berlin next Thurs for a week. This time I'll be staying in Mitte, off Schoenhauser Allee. Further to the north east than I've stayed before, although I have travelled all over the city. Reading ISG of late, much doesn't seem to stand out. Based on a mixture of previous experience, a tight budget and the tone of recent reports, my preferred options look like this at the moment:

Any other bright ideas?

Any other recent good quality / value experiences?

Also I would be leery of Airport Muschi as I jave never heard much good about the place cheap as it is.

And actually the center of poon gravity is more West than East, you might find all closer if you base out of Adenauerplatz, Oliverplatz, Stutgarterpl. Lots of apartment hotel options if you search, nicer neighborhoods. Does not have the beat of where you are, but if you're going to be there, Prentzlauerberg would be better IMHO.

With that in mind I do not think it is a terrible site, just that you have to be carful and any ad that looks too good to be true, probably is.
