I'm somewhere halfway between a foreign tourist and a local resident in Budapest. Not a native Hungarian, but I've spent here quite a lot of time in recent years, also speak the language well enough to have direct access to any native girl in the scene. And well, I've been using this licence to fuck (though not very intensively), mostly in the "rosszlanyok-beszamolok" section of the market.

I don't really want to get involved in the debate of how important the language is to get the upper hand in the local market. Actually I'm rather centrist in this question as well, so just my 2 cents indeed. You must ask for the prices and conditions one by one, which is a hotbed of problems, especially for non-locals. So one idea that may come in useful to any foreigners, especially if you spend here more than one evening: try to communicate in writing as far as you can. (On the local sites rosszlanyok and beszamolok you must register to do so, but it takes only five minutes). The main point is that if a price or other condition is written down once, it is much less likely that you will face anything different on the scene, so you can avoid most of the unpleasant surprises, caused by either just misunderstanding or an attempt to rip you off. Moreover, in some cases communication in writing may help you avoiding "tourist prices" as well. If you contact a girl directly (I mean thru her own homepage or an international site), it is obvious what you should do, now here you are some basic info about how it works with local sites. (Of course skip this if you already know how it works).

For example on the site rosszlanyok there are three possible settings for the girls: A) "auto reply set" B) "you can send messages" C) "does not want messages" (these are the actual terms used in the English version), and point C) is of course irrelevant in this case. In case B) the story is more interactive already from the first step: you should write a short and simple letter with a few personal sentences and your questions, and wait for the (not automatic) reply from the girl (of course in this case it is advisable to write only to girls with the British flag sign). Perhaps occupational related skills. A few basic questions asked on services and prices. The answers and the manner of answering can tell you a lot on the providers personality and level of service to be expected. Tl; dr: avoid this one.

Reni's ad looked pretty good, and she had good reviews, so I gave her a call. She doesn't speak English, so we switched to Viber. She quoted me 15 K for an hour.
