Hello gents,
I will be in BKK soon and considering to stay in Baioke Sky.
Is this hotel GF friendly or shall I consider another one?
Which one would be best?
A quick search using google indicates that this hotel is not girl friendly. If you want GF hotel and near to the action, you should perhaps consider a hotel along Sukhumvit. Which one depends on your budget.
Compass hospitality having 3 days sales now, the rate look like very good on hotel website.
And no penalty charge if canceled 1 day before arrival.
Will be in BKK end of March, will stay at Adelphi Suite Soi 8.
It seems that a lot of people keep asking for the same info. Here's a list courtesy of BKK Tonite.
It seems that a lot of people keep asking for the same info. Here's a list courtesy of BKK Tonite.
I'm sure you know this is no means a complete list. For example, I know the Hotel Muse, a 5-star boutique hotel on Langsuan that I highly recommend if you don't mind being a couple of BTS stops away from Nana is very GF. In general, if the hotel is remotely close to the mongering neighborhoods there is a reasonable chance it is GF; and it's simple to make sure. Send them an email and ask about there policy towards female guests; and be sure to book double occupancy. It costs no more than single occupancy.
The Admiral Suites even throws in a washing machine. Wait, so does T21.
The Shama Suites on Soi 2 next to the J. W. Marriott also has washing machines in its suites. They are noisier than the washers at the Admiral Premier, and even the "quick wash" cycle takes quite awhile. Another problem is that you can't put a load of laundry in and then leave the room. That's because once you leave the room the electricity shuts off. Still, it beats paying outrageous hotel laundry charges, or wandering the streets in search of a less-expensive laundry.
Shifting Gears: The water pressure and temperature at the Shama Suites are superb. If you hate wimpy Thai showers with lukewarm water trickling out of of the spigot, you'll love the high-pressure, high-temperature showers at the Shama Suites.
The Shama Suites on Soi 2 next to the J. W. Are there lots of obnoxious little kids running around screaming? I'd hate to subject the hookers I bring to my room to that sort of behavior by the pint sized guests. ;)
I am emailing around to several Hotels / Serviced Apartment for an acceptable rate for around 50 nights – including one or two breaks in between – starting beginning of March (till mid May).
Surprisingly the ask more or less to same prices as before.
I read several days a week the Bangkok Post and saw some post saying that tourists are avoiding to come to Bangkok. This is not reflecting in the prices they ask nowadays.
If someone can help me:
I am looking for the Sukhumvite / Asok / Thong Lor area.
Looking for a junior type of suite or similar (above 50 sqm)
A kitchenette is welcome.
A washing machine in the room is a must.
Of course gym and swimming pool.
My target price for 50 nights is THB 2. 000 (I paid in November. December THB 2200).

I am planning to be in BKK soon and am not sure about the acccess to the Westin on Sukhumvit Soi 19 because of the protests on Asok intersection. Is it better to book the Four Points by Sheraton on Soi 15 in this respect?

The Royal President on Soi 15 should also have washing machines in selected suites.
Good luck with the bargaining!

The protesters have closed Sukhumvit right after the Westin. Soi 19 is open for traffic, so no problem.

I noticed the same thing on the hotel's web site, especially the charming photograph of the family watching dad grill some burgers on one of the terraces. (A staged photo, by the way. You can see the terrace where they shot it from the swimming pool deck one level above. There is no barbeque grill in evidence.)
Anyway, Mr. Kausch need not worry about any crumb-snatchers ruining his adult fun. I did see a few families during my five-day Shama Suites sojourn in January, but the parents had the curtain-climbers well under control. Usually I'd see them heading out for a day of sightseeing early in the morning, and returning in the late afternoon. By the time the sun went down, the rug rats were gone from the public areas of the hotel.
I pulled a few girls from Nana Plaza go-go clubs and brought them back to the Shama Suites without incident. There is a driveway that connects Soi 4 to the rear of the hotel, and a handy entrance on that side of the building so you don't have to walk around to the main entrance. It's a very short walk. So short, in fact, that even the normally-fussy go-go girls don't complain about walking. Usually I got a snappy salute from the security guard and a pleasant khap! as I passed. Inside the hotel requires the girls to leave her identification card at the desk, but the formalities take only a few seconds. The staff did not call me after the girls left my room, although I'm sure I could have requested that service.

Soi 19 is open for traffic, so no problem.
While things on the surface are nominally business as usual with tourists essentially not impacted, the situation is escalating and appears to be growing increasingly unstable, so you do not want to be based anywhere near protest areas. The only purpose to be remotely near any protest areas is on an incidental basis, for example lets say you need access to Terminal 21 Mall or need to go to Soi Cowboy, but then you should make sure to only enter Terminal 21 only from the west side, and Soi Cowboy from the east entrance
Usually I check several booking corps and also the hotel's website to see if price varies. Yesterday day and today I see a Bangkok hotel that has Booking. Com double the agoda price and the hotel website price.
