Mr Rick seems like you hit a rock in Phnom Penh.
LOL. The only thing I failed at was getting some sleep or crossing a street without risking my life and jumping over raw sewage in the gutter bro. Oh and finding women who weren't batshit insane. Sorry but after women at several different bars quote you insane prices you just don't feel much like mongering anymore. I'd like to find some more handjob shops just to hold me over until I can get out of there. Any tips on that would be sweet.
So sorry to hear about all this negativeness of your stay here. Its my third visit but truly only the second for mongering and actually I prefer it to vietnam which I abandoned this trip to come back here. You should have taken up the offer of Aussieguy100 for advice as he is not only a very nice gentleman but also very knowledgeable and helpful about the scene here, willing to share gladly.
But I am feeling that you have just rejected Cambodia all together, throwing away the baby with the water. Too bad. If I may, either seek help and open up or just leave and never come back. However, what I can tell you is that should you choose the first option, it should be quite rewarding.
I guess you must not be used to walking a lot in busy asian cities. I do a lot of walking especially here as its as flat as a pancake here, from street 184 down to 240, back to 108 and back again to 174. And never had a problem. Of course you have to be extra careful, but it can be done. Actually, I had more risks of being hit by cars in europe crossing the streets than here with all the motorbikes and cars.
As for sleeping well. Why don't you try the bluetongue cafe and hotel on street 174 right next to the Walkabout? In that street and just a bit further there are other nice hotels too and very quiet. Turn around on street 63 and you will find yet other nice hotels as well. But you need to walk hahahaha. Let me know if you want the names and streets numbers.
It is quite normal all over asia that girls ask for ridiculous amounts in the first place. It does not mean that its what they will not not accept less. Negotiation is part of the life and always expected, if not wanted actually. In some countries you will in fact not be respected if you don't bargain.
Having said that, and to try to help with my modest knowledge of this country still new to me, you should try Panda massage at the corner of streets 240 and 55 I believe. I had FS there for 25 bucks the first day I arrived thanks to info found here. I think. Sorry but I had just arrived and was horny as hell hehehe. You can refuse the first girl they send you and ask for another one that is what I did when they sent a fat cow.) , just like anywhere in south east asia, until you get someone you like, if they have enough girls of course. The manager there is vietnamese but she does not have any viet girls, all Cambodian.
You should probably try the Paris hotel massage as well as a massage place just off street 63 on street 252 at number 28R, called 252 massage karaoke, its right next to a big signed karaoke. Viet girls have red tag and Cambodians have bue tags (or maybe the other way round. You'll see anyways). I have not tried it, yet, just walked up to have a look. They had at least 30 girls in the fishbowl.
Hope you will enjoy Phnom penh a bit more. If not, Ho Chi Minh is only at 6 hours bus ride and 10 to 13 USD for that.
Cheers
Tungsten 2, ignore the troll Rick Rock.
Tungsten 2,
Ignore Rick Rock. For some reason he's now trolling.
PP at Christmas will be fun. As RR says, lots of Santa hats, girls dancing in the bars, generally a good time.
No chance it will be a ghost town. Just look back over the last ten pages of this PP thread for suggestions of where to go, depending on your preferences.
Mr Rick, you definitely don't Rock in Cambodia.
Thanks for the tips. I'm going to have to try something if I get sent over there (I swear this is fate punishing me, Cambodia is the ONE place in Asia I absolutely did not like).
When compared to what else is available in the world, it's just an absolutely dreadful place. I feel deeply sorry for anyone who thinks this is something good. It's like the old Koreans who sleep on the floor their whole lives and think it's the best. You know if they just slept in a bed they'd love it and see what shit sleeping on the ground was.
I believe that you are beyond any salvation as far as Cambodia is concerned. And maybe you are right. Maybe you did something that justifies fate punishing you. Think about that for a moment. You may also want to talk to yourt bosses to trade for any other place because it may prove to be hell for you here.
You may also have been spoilt rotten with other countries but then again you should compare apples with apples and not apples with rabbits. Every country and people and culture have their own peculiarities and are extremely different even if they seem to be close to each other, that is if you take the time to see beyond the facade and the surface.
You know, in everything that we think is bad, with time, there is always something good and positive that evolves from it eventually. Few years back I was sent to work in Portugal while I had hated it the first time I went there and thought never to go back. Few weeks after I stayed there, I started discovering the real Lisbon, and its people, and I grew to like it and even to love it after few months. I realized that in my first visit I had seen nothing really, understood nothing and felt even less. Funny enough, same thing happened to me here in Cambodia the first time I came here 4 years ago and now yes I do love it and the people account for a large part of that.
Good luck because you need plenty of it bro =, just my 2 cents.
Phnom Penh in the last 2 years
I first visited PP in the 1990's and it was wild then. In recent years this has changed. Athough there are not the sheer numbers of women to be had as in Thailand, The Philippines etc, I still manage to find some real gems. Last year I found a 19 year old bar girl who was over-celebrating in Pontoons. We hit it off and she almost sucked me dry with BJ's galore. She had long braided hair and an incredible body. All for 30 USD for all night. I should have hung onto her (I know. Big head, small head ha ha) but I chased other girls in HOD the following night and found a 21 year old stunner with her 19 year old younger sister. Fresh from home. I took both of them short time for 20 USD each and gave the younger one her first facial, just right after she watched her sister give me a BBBJ. They were great.
The last time I was in PP was 2 months ago and I saw an incredibly sexy girl (20) in Martini's and we hit if off and she came home with me for 25 USD short time. She had to return to the club for her jacket and I thought that since I had paid her she would not return (leaving me free to chase again. Heh heh). She returned for an overnight session for 25 USD and I could hardly walk the next morning. She fucked my brains out and was so so tight too.
So when I read recent tales of woe here I truly wonder which PP I visited. For me these girls are normally great if you are patient and slowly get them to introduce friends etc then it is possible to get some amazing girls.
I will return there in a few months and have already started chatting on DIA, Skype etc. I expect another amazing time. Forget Thailand, it's full of seasoned / hardened girls intent on their I-phone 5 etc. PP hasn't got there just yet.
