I have previously posted detailed reports on how to get serviced at Thai massage joints in Taipei, so I will not repeat those details here. Instead, I will post an update of 3 places I have found which provide quality masseuses who will give you a Happy Ending, if you play your cards right.
The first two are on Minquan East Road Section 2, ONE BLOCK WEST of Songjiang Road. Along the south side of the block, you can find many (maybe 4-5) different joints you can try out, but I will mention one (2. Below) which is particularly reliable.
1. On the north side of the block, opposite the temple, you will find a large book store on the corner of Songjiang and Minquan. Walk west from this bookstore, until you see the electronics store on the corner. The massage joint is right before this store (you can find it on Google with Streetview: blue sign with red letters).1500NT for oil 2H. 1200NT for regular 2H, prepaid. Go for oil here.
The two best bets are #5 and #99. #5 is mid 30s from Fujian, with a hot bod (but fake tits). She gives a good oil massage and a nice ending. #99 is a bit younger, from S. Vietnam, but has a nice, natural rack. She has an excellent technique where she gets you off between her legs (reminds me of Japan).
The facilities are a bit old, but not too bad (better than the facilities in 2. Or 3.). Getting to shower before and after the oil massage is relaxing.
2. On the south side of the block, across the large Minquan East Road on the opposite corner from 1, you will find a store with a brown sign and red lettering. Here you want to do a regular massage for 1000NT 2H (the 1500NT for oil isn't worth it here. Their technique is inferior). Good bets here are #6, #11, and #17. #6 is young and playful (lower 20's) with a really nice pair of tits and nice long legs. #17 is just as good but a bit older (late 20's, early 30's). #6 is a bit colder than #17, but YMMV. #11 I have tried once, but is also repeatable (nice face and body, with good technique). Nice looks and not too old. Everyone here seems to be younger than in 1, but massage quality isn't quite as good as 1.
3. Near Raohe Night Market, on Bade East Road. If you walk from the West entrance of the Night Market, on the Bade East Road side towards the East, around half-way down the block, you will find a Thai massage place on the left-hand side (iirc, a brown sign. Unfortunately, this one doesn't show up in Google StreetView). Pick #5, a S. Vietnamese masseuse who has an excellent H. E. Technique and a good massage.
Since I can't seem to type Chinese characters into the editor, check the attachment below for the names of the shops in 1. And 2.
Also note that you needn't limit yourself to the ones I've listed. There seems to be at least 2-3 of these shops on every block in Taipei. The market seems to be over-saturated. But if you are just starting out and want to get some sure bets / accumulate some experience, you can try the ones I listed above.
In all of these cases, I've never felt ripped off, even after tipping 500-1000NT. In other words, I have already done the groundwork and filtered out the ones that don't seem to be worth it. YMMV, but the masseuse listed above have never failed to satisfy me.
Have fun.
