It’s 7.30am and I have to get up to attend to some business today. I’m weary. Its either still jet lag or shag lag – probably a bit of both.
Fortunately I am able to finish by mid afternoon and am back at the hotel at 4.00pm. The made to measure suit has been collected and I’m pleased. I lie on the bed and the next thing I know it’s 7.30pm. Freshened up, I debate where to go and decide to give Wan Chai a miss. I must be coming down with something to think that after all these years.
I stroll over to Mody’s bar about 9.00pm but Angel, who for some reason or other is making me curious, is not there and I leave my telephone number at the bar. 5 minutes later she phones and I return to the bar.
Different SW’s from last night are out at the phone box and I recollect last night’s activities but am not tempted, despite beckoning smiles.
A few beers with my new found friend and I am back in the groove again – but not yet literally. I make a point of getting the business side over with and early on we agree HK$1200 for LT which although $200 more than my normal limit, I am happy to pay. IMHO, there is no point in spending a lot on drink to find out their “fees” are not in your price range. She is business-like but also personal.
After all it is only 9.30pm and she is happy to leave now.
I find her interesting and easy to talk to and before I know it is midnight and my bar/food bill comes to an eye watering $700. Don’t drink in this bar! $58 for a Heineken plus service charge. Margarita’s are $68 plus service charge.
We make our own way to the hotel as I can’t take the risk of being seen and 5 minutes walk after leaving the bar I am in my hotel. Angel arrives shortly thereafter and we spend a pleasant few hours together. As sometimes happens, the performance was not as good as anticipated, but enjoyable nevertheless. She is just recovering from a bad racking cough and it is a bit of a turn-off, coming back to her just at the wrong times.
I encourage her to leave about 4.00am without letting her feel she is being disposed off.

I then make my way to New Makati where I am to meet colleagues I met in the afternoon, some of whom I don’t know. The place is busy and the beer goggles are on. My first time there. I am reasonably impressed as there is a good range of talent on show.
We then make our way to Borocay which is usually half empty but we each seem to get attached to one of their clientele and with the drink in me I am all over a girl and she over me. I’m surprised we are not asked to “tone it down”. If I met her in my soup tomorrow I would not recognise her.
Angel is texting me to come over to Mody’s bar but I politely decline as I might need to use her services later in the week.
I get a taxi back to my hotel in Kowloon. I wonder if Monica, the massage girl is still working and phone the number on the flyer I kept. She cannot be contacted but they are able to send someone else. About 2 minutes later (and I’m not exaggerating) my door bell goes. She is not exactly a vision of ecstasy but for $300 I let her in.

The Wanchai lessons I learned from my trips earlier this year are as follows (and admittedly personal):

1) Don't take two-fers. They are never as good as you think they will be and they invariably end up being more work and more money (obv.).

2) Don't be a rush. Every time I went out, I'd get in this mindset where I'd have to find someone within an hour. May take longer.

3) Don't limit yourself. I would hit a lot of bars but I always seemed to lean heavily on Laguna, Neptune's II, and Escape. Sounds like New Makati is a good one again and Amazonia has a great band and a few stunners around.

4) No more Vietnamese for attitude and money reasons.

5) Be flexible. One of the best experiences I've ever had involved this trio of girls I spotted near my hotel one morning. I followed them onto a bus and one of them -- not my first choice -- gestured me over. We chatted, I got a number with a plan to meet up that night in Laguna, and she rocked my world that night. I offered $1K HK LT just once, no haggling, and she stayed all night and was totally GFE.

6) Don't overspend on drinks for the ladies, esp. in a group. Easy way to get ripped off as I did with nannies whom I thought I knew one weekend afternoon.
