I'm Native American and very dark. My experiences: stick to the tourist areas of the city and don't wander around on the streets drunk and NEVER cut through the many small parks at night where you small groups of people drinking and talking. And next week, because May 9th (Victory Day) is on a Wednesday this year, we are going to work Wednesday May 2, Thursday May 3, Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5 so that we will have a FOUR day weekend on Sun May 6, Monday May 7th, Tuesday May 8th and Wednesday May 9th. Of course, we still have to work the following Saturday as well (May 12th). Are you confused yet? Only in Russia.

The net result is that if you are looking for girls in Russia anytime between April 29th and May 10th, be prepared for unexpected patterns. Or you can just go to the dacha and drink vodka like me.

"Normal" Russian girls (and most girls) have no interest in having their cervix bruised by a long penis and are not turned on by the sensation of same during sex (also not interested in having their vaginas stretched or bruised). If you meet with older Russians, who grew up in the Soviet times, you might also find being dark an absolute plus (but not if your from Africa or Vietnam, e. G). As Soviet leaders used to ship in Black Panthers, AIM leaders, blah blah to talk to Russians about how bad America treated its minorities. Also, to my mind, Russians tend to psychologically associate themselves with tragedy, and so are predisposed to be sympathetic and curious about other "tragic" peoples (I. E. Historically oppressed races) and many Russians have read Last of the Mohicans and / or To Kill a Mockingbird in school. Now if you are Jewish, that's an entirely different kettle of fish. As Russians DEFINITELY have some serious issues with Jews (Russians actually distinguish between citizens who are "Russian" and then citizens who are Jewish. They will always refer to someone Jewish as "Jewish" and never as "Russian") and the stereotypes they associate with Jews are right out of the 16th century. But keep in mind there are a lot of Russian guys who are poor / out of work / drunk who can't get laid and if they see you walking down a deserted street or cutting thru a park with a Russian girl they might get it into their head you deserve some payback: "Be careful out there" applies.

Is this the norm or the exception for Moscow (girls in the lobby)?

Of course everything is expensive, and I had braced myself for that and even so. Wow, everything is expensive (Hyattat$800-$900 per night is out of the question!).
