Grand Millenium Versus Grand Centre Point Terminal 21
The Grand Millennium seems to have bigger rooms. I do like the kitchen and washer in the Grande Centre Point.
I have not stayed at the Grand Centre Point Terminal 21, but I have stayed at the Grand Millennium. The location is excellent. Soi Cowboy is only a short walk away. In fact, the Grand Millennium is so close to Soi Cowboy that even the notoriously lazy go go girls don't mind walking. You can exit the Grand Millennium through the "front" door onto Asok, and then walk south to the west end of Soi Cowboy. You can also exit the Grand Millennium through the "back" door onto Soi 23 (by cutting through the car park) and then walk south to the east end of Soi Cowboy. If you keep walking south on Soi 23 you can easily connect to the Skytrain or the subway by walking though the massive office / retail complex that is at the northeast corner of Sukhumvit and Asok. It's easy to get lost in there, but once you master the layout you can make your way in climate-controlled comfort.
The Grand Millennium is totally girl friendly. If you enter off Asok through the "front" door they will take the girl's identification card. If, however, you enter off Soi 23 through the "back" door it's easy to make your way to the elevators undisturbed. That part of the hotel is very quiet at night.
I booked a room with a king bed that was very nice, albeit small. One thing I liked was the oversized desk, which made it easy to get some work done during the day. The wi-fi is acceptably fast, but the picture quality on the television is awful. The bathroom featured tub that was separate from the shower stall, which I thought was a nice touch. There is also a glass wall that raises some interesting observation possibilities.
I stayed on the executive floor (or whatever they call it) which gave me access to the lounge. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing to write home about. The main benefit of the lounge is that it gave me someplace to work during the day when the housekeepers arrived in my room.
Finally, with regard to having a kitchen and washer, if you're looking for a hotel that offers those in location close to Soi Cowboy checkout the Admiral Premier.

Grand Millenium Versus Grand Centre Point Terminal 21
I have stayed in both hotels a number of times. Both have good locations. Both GF.
1. The GM rooms are nicer, roomier, and more high class unless you are willing to upgrade to a suite at T21. The T21 suites are great. Deluxe Rooms at both hotels used to be offered for around $100. GM has upped their price in the last 12 months. I have not seen an offer from them for less than $125/ night. Rooms at the Grand Centre Point T21 are still available at around $100/night with breakfast. Check with Agoda and Booking.com. The T21 suites are sometimes available at $165/night. Comparable suites at the Fraser Hotel go for around $100/night or less. But the Fraser is on Soi 11. I like the Fraser Hotel a lot, but a different location is a different location.
2. Grande Centre Point T21 has a great pool with fabulous views and all day sun. The pool at Grand Millennium is a joke. Really small. Not a pool actually, no view, and no sun.
For the reasons stated above, I much prefer the Grand Center Point T21.
BKK Suites: Fraser Hotel vs Grand Centre Point T 21 vs Marriott Exec Apart. Thonglor
i am a big fan of hotel suites. i like to entertain my girls in the living room before boom boom. hell, i prefer not to spend my waking hours in a bedroom. and having a freezer / refrigerator is a big bonus. i like to keep vodka and tequila in the freeze.
luckily bangkok has a lot of choices if you like living in suites.
the fraser hotel on soi 11, as i mentioned in my last post, is a real good hotel. their 780 sq ft 1 bedroom suite is very comfortable. priced at around $100/ night it is a good deal. the pool is kind of small, but nothing really bad like the gm's pool. i have had good afternoons and evenings entertaining girls in this pool. and if you stay here, you have soi 11 at your doorstep. enough said. this is a very good hotel.
the marriott executive apartment thonglor is a click above the fraser in quality. the 1 bedroom suites very high quality as well as being roomy. the pool is very good too. surprisingly i have been able to book 1 br suites here for $95/ night. the only qualifier that some of you might object to is the location: thonglor (soi 55) and sukhumvit. since i usually spend 2.5 to 3 weeks in bkk per trip, i enjoy the change in scenery location for about a week or so. it gives me the opportunity to visit some of the g clubs on ekmani and still its only 2 bts stops away from asok and soi cowboy. i would not want to spend my whole bkk time here, but staying here for a portion of my time in bkk is good for me.
grand center point t21 one bedroom suites are very elegant and roomy. and as i wrote in my last post, the t21 pool is great. the location is also excellent. my only problem with t21 is the price. $165/ night is the discount price for the suite. ouch! especially when i know i can go down just a notch in quality and stay at the admiral premiere in the grand admiral suite 700 sq ft for $94/ night. i really like the ap. the two larger suites they offer are both very good. the rooftop pool is small, but usually i find i am the only guest using it and the skyline views are great.
so to sum it up:
marriott executive apartments thonglor - classy, great value, great pool, thonglor location.
grand center point t21 (suites) - high quality, not so good value, great pool, great asok / sukhumvit location.
fraser suites hotel - high quality, good value, good pool, soi (whoppee) 11 location.
admiral premiere - acceptable quality, good pool with great views, great sukhumvit / soi 23 location.
Hotels with Suites Near Nana Entertainment Plaza
I am a big fan of hotel suites. I like to entertain my girls in the living room before boom boom. Hell, I prefer not to spend my waking hours in a bedroom. Luckily Bangkok has a lot of choices if you like living in suites. (Remainder of cogent, pithy and didactic post snipped to conserve bandwidth.)
At the risk of re-opening the long-running debate over the current state of Soi Cowboy, suffice it to say that these days I prefer the Nana Entertainment Plaza and environs, so I have made a careful study of hotels in that neighborhood where you can rent a suite for a reasonable tariff. I can recommend two:
PHACHARA SUITES.
http://www.phacharasuites.com/
Midway between the Nana Entertainment Plaza and the Nana BTS, so it's an easy walk to both. Far enough from Soi 4 that it's quieter, with a more relaxed vibe. Some of the lazy go go girls will whine about walking to the Phachara Suites, but you can always hire a tuk-tuk at the entrance to NEP for the three-minute ride. The "one bedroom executive" suites are big and well designed and if you book directly with the hotel far enough in advance you can usually keep the price down to less than 3000 baht per night. If you want to splash out, inquire into the availability of the "one bedroom PREMIER" suite, which is truly spectacular and features a huge terrace facing south.
SHAMA SUITES.
http://www.shama.com/sukhumvit/
Just south of J. W. Marriott on Soi 4, but if you go out the "back" door and down a little driveway you come out just a few steps from the entrance to the Nana Entertainment Plaza. Super, SUPER convenient for short times with go go hotties. Very close to the pubs and restaurants that line Soi 4 south of the NEP. Easy walk to two different skytrain stations and a western-style supermarket in a nearby complex. Nice rooftop pool with spectacular skyline views. Washer dryer in room and rack to dry your clothes on the small balcony. The sectional seating in the living room is ideal for shagging if you get bored with the bed. Best water pressure and temperature I've ever had in Thailand. If you like a powerful hot shower, you'll love the Shama. You used to be able to book on their website, but now you get a fill-in-the-blank form that "enquires" about the rate for your proposed stay. Probably a few baht more expensive than the Phachara Suites.
