Baht Bus Fare Now 15 Baht?
A baht bus just charged me 15 instead of the usual 10. Has there been a raise?
Rode the baht bus about 9:00 pm On April 12 down Second Road from the Runway night market to the Central Mall next door to the Hilton. The window separating the driver from the passengers had a sign saying the fare was 15 baht.
I've been in town for about 60 days and that's the first sign like that I've seen. But it makes sense. Diesel prices are up sharply worldwide because of the situation in the Middle East. I read where the supply of diesel (and jet fuel) is particularly short in Asia.
TRIGGER WARNING FOR ALL YOU CHEAP CHARLIES: My personal practice is to pay 20 baht when riding the bus. The extra 10 baht is meaningless to me, but it's double the traditional fare, and what the locals pay. The baht bus drivers work hard, especially when traffic is snarled by high season crowds or (currently) by Songkran water wars. They provide a valuable and reliable service worthy of our support.
Upstairs Accommodation Options on Soi 6?
There are rooms-with-bath but none are listed on accommodation sites, apart from the dreary Queen Vic Pub.
Can anyone kindly point me towards some of the better options? I am not referring to short-time rooms with just a mattress.

Here is Confirmation as of this week to what Binky posted.
Not a major increase but unlikely it will come down and become permanent.
