OK, I just called the Radisson. I told them I'm staying at the Marriott and would like their best room rate for a 6 night stay. The best they could give me was the long stay rate (7 nights +) for the 6 nights. Deluxe room with breakfast and taxes included: 5,575 pesos. Expensive.

Soft opening means the hotel can open for business but still has cosmetic work to complete and this was the case. Main elevator was now operational and they were happy to show me a triple-single room, which means three single beds in one room. I inquired about reserving a room with one double bed, and they informed me they only has three, yes three rooms available at that time. I left my contact info and made a reservation for the following monday for two nights. The hotel called me back on the weekend to inform me they could not honor my room request and suggested I book the triple single room and I declined. Then the girl suggested I can push all three beds together and I declined again. The hotel looks nice inside but has no swimming pool and the low promo rates will be in effect until Dec 15 from what the girl told me. I would book here in the future, just not currently.
Looking back I might have missed a good chance to have one HUGE new bed and invite two girls over to stay with no joiner fees. :D
Just back in Cebu and I swear the top talent girls in these bars just ignore the white guys. They seem to only go with asian seems to get worse every time I come back. The bright side to this is in 18 years there will be alot of new half Korean princess dancing hopefully loving the white man LOL

Nothing to do with sex, but since there isn't a hotel and restaurant thread...you can get a Nathan's Hot Dog for 75 pesos at ground floor Metro hot dog stand in Ayala Mall. They have local mystery meat hot dogs as well. Cheaper, but I stuck to the Nathan's product.

Unfortunately your excellent reports are hidden down the threads, so they probably get overlooked by a lot of forum members (myself included). I just asked Jackson to give you senior member status so that your reports won't continue to be delayed before they appear. I hope he acts on my suggestion. You also might consider paying the $19.95 so that you can send and receive PMs. I'm sure many members want to thank you for your reports but don't want to clutter up the threads.

I had same 'mystery meat' when I was a student in the UK, generally turned out to be dog or cat (based on the fact that the local health and safety closed the most popular student restaurant due to finding a dog carcass in the fridge!!!)
But the real hot dog in Metro is nice and I was never sick after eating such great cuisine... GE you should try!!
I know WR, that you spent several years in England and thus don't really understand the concept of real food. This is not your fault. Had you just headed across to France, what a difference it might have made in your culinary preferences! The local hot dogs here in Davao are bright red and probably contain less than 5% of material actually found in nature. Swiss Deli though makes it's own European hot dogs with actual pork meat inside, and I purchase these to cook at home frequently.

The Swiss Deli hot dogs are wonderful having tried them myself but sometimes I like to stray into more adventurous cuisine. And for those on a budget Nathan's is good value.

Its all in how well you dress and present yourself, and not only to the girls. When two mongers with girls come into a security-minded hotel simultaneously, one well-dressed and confident, the other stumbling in wearing a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, 9 times out of 10 I can tell you which one the security guys will bother for registration and joiner fee while totally ignoring the other.
