You can ask the mamasan to bring the girl to you by referring to the number or as you said, smile and she may come down. The price will include a bar fine (upward of 600 baht) and the girl's fees (short time or long time), which varies among bars and also according to your negotiation skills. I have not been in BKK for a bit. So my guess is short time (1 hour) will be at least 2000 baht and long term upward of 3000 baht. Short term is usually one hour with one shot unless you negotiate; long time will be a few hours with at least a couple of shots. Some of them try to sneak out in 2-3 hours. Just watch out. You have a choice of taking her to a short time hotel or to your own hotel. Hope that helps!

Was there this weekend and I can saw the lineup in there is the best I have ever seen in my 20 plus years of going to GoGos. 8's, 9's, and 10's abound. Just stunning. Place was packed and we were the only two non-Asians in the place.

There is no empirical evidence to this. As for paying more, naturally frequent visitors value their time more than the money they will fork out and hence are likely to pay more.

I envy you so much, 20 years back Thailand was paradise. And I am fortunate enough to have partaken during that golden era, although not as much as I did later in my life, as money came more easily and travel become more frequent. But for me, it still is a paradise, maybe a bit lesser than before but still so much better than some other places. LOL.
