The next night, I ventured back to Pizza Alley. The Old Pub was completely deserted. The next place I checked out was [B]Son de Cuba[/B], which was a salsa club on Sunday. While salsa dancing is a delight to watch, I couldn't participate. There was a group of 3 lonely girls, but they were all overweight. My small bottle of Cusqueña beer cost 15 PEN.

My next stop was [B]Bohemia[/B], a lively club with eclectic music. A big bottle of Pilsen Callao cost 20 PEN. Finally, I returned to Bizarro. On a slow Monday night, there was no queue or cover charge. After a while, the club filled up nicely. The crowd was very young. After an afternoon recce mission to Pizza Alley confirmed Sabor Peruano was closed, I walked back to the area on a Saturday evening. The music was pumping at several places, but I decided to start the evening at the only open venue mentioned as a P4P spot: [B]The Old Pub[/B].

Bizarro mainly plays techno music. There were performers on small stages, doing space-age acts in fluorescent costumes. Corona beers cost 15 PEN. I wouldn't qualify Bizarro as a hooker disco, but a few girls were definitely checking me out, even though I was with Angie. I'd say you can do business there on the weekend. ;)

Given this statistic, you would expect every apartment, hotel, shop & restaurant in the city to have heating. But actually, there's no heating anywhere, which I found utterly ridiculous! :eek: During my stay, the temperatures were pretty constant: 15°C (59°F) at night to 18°C (64°C) during the daytime. I basically wore my jacket all the time, both inside & outside, which was downright depressing. :mad:

I've been fortunate to visit Peru for 5 and 6 months at a time and I met some very special people during that time. Your experience may be different if you are only going to be there for a short period of time however.

I lived in Cusco for almost two years. The worst part was the cold. As soon as the sun went down, the temps plummeted. There are no natural gas lines or heating oil at least when I lived there several years ago. Houses and apartments do not have furnaces nor are there any coal burning devices. Occasionally, one can find a wood burning fireplace but wood is hard to come by and most of the nearby area were stripped of trees and firewood decades ago. The windows in the older buildings are generally small, maybe because glass was hard to find during colonial days, which reduced solar heat accumulating during the day. Virtually no buildings have central heat of any kind and most people leave their coats on all day while working etc. Even high end hotels provide propane driven heating coil devices for chilly guests though still charge 1st world prices. This is what I used during my stay. One time I almost set my shoes on fire because they were dangling too close to the device and my soles were made of rubber. I could smell rubber burning when I realized that I had draped my shoes too close to the heater. The only hotel I know of that has normal central heat is the new Marriott. It will cost you a pretty penny though.

During the summer months, (Dec-April) they receive the most rain so the dampness, humidity and cloudy skies make it seem even colder. The best time to go are the winter months. At least you have generally sunny skies. What really makes it intolerable are the Cusco women are even colder than the temps.

Lima does not get as cold and the women are more accommodating but it can be quite humid there a good part of the year. The same situation exists there with a lack of central heating and other heating mechanisms we take for granted in the Western world.

I used Dominican Cupid last year in Dominican republic. Worked out well. I don't like noisy, smokey bars. They all use Whatsapp there. I meet them at a beach bar, in the early afternoon. I will be in Lima next month with some friends and staying in Miraflores. Interested in finding chicas in Miraflores to pick-up at bars. We do not plan to go to some of the other areas of town, and not interested in the overpriced strip clubs. From RTTF it looks like pizza alley and sabor peruano are no longer viable. I heard about tequila rock. Anyone have any recent info on it? Any other good pick-up spots to find independent chicas? Any reputable casas in Miraflores?

Any one have experience with Kinestops and mundo kinesiologas? Some of the photos look too good to be legit, but I can't find any info.
