Without doubt, the best way is sms. It's how it's done.

You need to get a local SIM card for your unlocked mobile phone. They are cost effective and easy to get. Go to ANY mobile phone store, show your passport and for about $15 you are set. And topping them up is easy at any of the thousands of tablet / terminals around town.

Thanks for the praise but I am not worthy when compared to some of the greats who came before me. But, I do have the advantage of living here so it makes it easier to keep current on SOME (but not all) aspects of night life here.

1. ESCORTS. I agree with you. Escort services in Moscow are for guys who have; A) no time, or B) no privacy and freedom (ie business colleagues hanging around). But is has to be said that if you are looking for classic mongering (big selection for cheap price) , you are coming to the wrong city. That said, there are plenty of salons, massage parlors and saunas for P4P as well as a huge selection of bars and clubs that have scads of gorgeous women to hit on.

Bars and Clubs – that is a very difficult thing to accurately answer without knowing you. The problem is that we are all different and we all have varying amounts of 'game' and all have our own comfort zone. So what's a gold mine for one dude is a waste of time for another. But you already know that. Judging from your request, it sounds like any your buddy might have some 'game', so I would suggest any one of the more popular watering holes for some amateur talent such as, The Real McCoy, Old School Pub, Club Che, Papas Place, Luch, Tema Bar, Booze Bub. The list goes on and on. I would STRONGLY suggest that you NOT waste your time and money on the more upscale trendy night clubs. These clubs are full of posers and gold diggers. It's all about being 'seen' at these clubs and if you are only here for a few days it's not worth it. Even if you DO get past Face Control, you will be faced with stuck up Barbie Dolls who want to drink $35 glasses of juice and ignore you. DOn't get me wrong, they are absolutely beautiful but IMHO, no fun at all. We can elaborate more on this later if you want. BTW. Hungry Duck is now closed.

2. SALONS. These three salons are IMHO the best ones but can be tricky if you speak no Russian. You will pay about 4, 000 rubles for a full hour which is about $135. But there are plenty of others as well. Most of them cheaper. There are also a lot of massage places which can be fun too. Depending on your budget, a few hours at the sauna can be 'more fun than a barrel of monkeys', but that's just my opinion.

3. PETROVICH. Club Petrovich is a private club. You need to be a member or know a member to get in. Furthermore, THE night for Petrovich is Saturday night. If you will not be there on a Saturday night there's really no point discussing this further.

4. STRIP CLUBS. The high ends strip clubs are; Penthouse Club, Aurora 911, Korston 911, and The Loft. All owned by the same group and have a consistent format. Sex on site is available. Good clean girls who submit to regular STD checks. They are expensive but safe. There are cheaper ones but both the quality of the facilities and the girls are consistent with price.

5. LANGUAGE. Moscow has over 16 million people in it. Like all big cities, 'game' trumps language. It's not NEARLY the barrier that it once was. With each passing year, more and more beautiful young ladies come of age with respectable English language skills so don't let it scare you. While Moscow is not the 'expat heaven' it once was, it's RARE that you can't find someone to who speaks English and is willing to lend a hand.

1) Agree 100% on the escorts. That's not fun for us. But I understand why some do it, I am not knocking it by any means. But when I travel I enjoy to not only see the tourist side of things, but also the local flavor of the city. We want to explore what Moscow has to offer on multiple levels. That's why we want to go to the local bars, lounges, etc. And talk to girls and this os where I would like to have a full list. We can talk to the wall if it would respond. Point is, striking up a conversation, provided some English is spoken, is not hard at all. That's why I wanted to know good bars, lounges and pubs to go to where its fun, there are a lot of women, good energy and the possibilities are endless. I agree on the posh clubs, we can go there if needed but would prefer not too.

2). SALONS / MASSAGES / SAUNAS: This is really where I would like to have a through conversation. Agree with you again, the massages and salons are the best! But finding the RIGHT ones to go to in a new city that I clearly have no idea where to go is the real trick. The ones you mention are probably good but if there are others that may be better or in another part of town I am all ears. The budget is not an issue, we just want good service, clean place and to have fun. Let me know if its better to email offline about this.

3). PETROVICH: We are there on a Saturday, we made sure to put Moscow on a weekend. We will be there Fri-Mon. Want to see how we can get in to this place. Again, budget is not an issue and if we have to talk offline about this let me know.

4). STRIP CLUBS: This is almost the 3rd or 4th option. This would be more to check out for a few hours than anything. I would rather go to another massage parlor or salon than a strip club if I had the choice.

5). Again, not to worried about the language, I am sure it will be challenging at times but we should be fine. Just don't be act like a douche and good things happen is the way I see it.

Almost all the large major hotels have a regular staff of prostituski. Example. The Cosmos, there are two bars on either side of the lobby. The girls arrive at 10 PM and hang out until 6 AM. One must show a hotel card to get to the elevator. And they all have such a card. They tend to be 30 something or less. They dress nicely, not too provocatively, but it is obvious what they are and what they want. Price was 180 Euro for an hour in the Cosmos. I had one girl 3 times, as my gf had ditched me. Also met this girl at Nightflight. 17 Tverskaya. She spoke perfect English. At Nightflight the girls arrive after 10 and it is a buffet of hookers. Prices tend to be higher than the hotel girls. An option to save some money is to use a 2 or 3 star tourist hotel away from the city center. But still with easy metro access. Those places will not have lobby girls. If you go to Nightflight you can take a girl back to the hotel. But you must walk her out as well as in or she will have trouble with security. I have never had to pay a bribe to security to get a girl to my room. Just walk as a couple and all is ok.

Only one time, several visits back, did I meet a girl just walking about as a tourist. I was near the Kremlin in an underground shopping. Pedestrian passage way. And I looked at some flowers and smiled at a pretty blonde. She approched me. Passing English. Americanski? The. And then she told me she like flowers. So I had a nice afternoon encounter with her for what was to me a very small gift.

But when you see a pack of drunk men at a bus stop. You will see why the girls like tourists.

papas place on myasnitskaya. actually very close to petrovich but worlds away in terms of sophistication. papas place is a university hang out. period. the management does it's best to lure young girls (often **** btw) with very, very cheap prices cocktails. go there almost any night of the week at 23:00 and you will find more than a handful of young horny students "looking for love".

Friends, I was going through the posts and must admit that I am truly impressed with the elaborate and helpful posts from fellow members. I am travelling to moscow next week and booked now at Crown Plaza hotel. Can someone pl give me suggestions on any nice pick up place or massage parlour for full service close by? We are staying at either the Ritz or the Marriott Aurora. What can you tell me about either and whats around there with regards to salons, strip clubs and sauna's? The Ritz clearly is higher end but we are certainly amendable if we need to be be / see we plan on not being in the hotel much at all.
