Well in summary, I would say that Planters is the primary pick up joint, The Office has the best looking girls, and Disco Club Herestrau is the place for working girl action. Planters and The Office are free to get into and are 20 metres apart.

And for those of you who like a happy ending, there was this romanian bird I met back here in Sunny London a week after returning. A spent three nights in Bucharest recently -- on business, chiefly, but I was not going to miss the opportunity to sniff around. On the whole I have to agree with earlier posters: mongers have little reason to go to this city. Prices are not exactly low, and the girls have a more "professional" attitude than in Asia, LatAm and even Russia. That said, if you're there anyway there ARE things to do.

Night 1. I looked into InYourPocket's list of adult entertainment places http://www.inyourpocket.com/romania/bucharest/en/category?cid=2736
and decided for a small club off the beaten track, Club Interdit on the Nastase Pamfil road (a small street -- the taxi driver had to call the cetral to find it). Unlike most places they do private "shows" in private rooms (50 dollars per hour) so you avoid the hassle of bringing the girl to your hotel. I'll give them 9/10 for the quality of their floor shows which, with ultraslim topless girls in acrobatic exercises, light effects and artificial fog, is way above what you would expect from a place seating 20+ clients. However, I was less fortunate with the mongering. I invited a scantily-dressed girl to my table at about the same time as a large group of local businessmen -- clearly "friends of the house" -- arrived. In consequence, she turned cold and distant, intent as she was on joining the more profitable action across the room. I inquired about a private show and was told that the standard room rental (a bottle of Italian spumante -- 45 euros) did not apply. I would have to offer her an unspecified number of glasses of champagne (in addition to the one she was drinking already) for her to consider my offer. I can take a hint, so.... I returned to my hotel, only half-disappointed after cajoling a boring girl in a stimulating setting. Price: 500 lei minimum price for drinks, 100 lei entrance (added to your bill), 700 lei for lady drink (offset against the price of your drinks if these cost less than 500 lei). All in all around 25 euros.

Night 2. I went to the (in)famour Herastrau Club in the midst of the Herestrau Park. I arrived early at 10.30 p.m. to find a room full of Slav girls (Moldovan? Ukrainian?) having dinner and pretending to mind their own business. Didn't take long before one who apparently worked like the self-styled mamasan approched me and asked if I wanted company. I had a few drinks with two girls alledgedly from St. Petersburg (I have my doubts: a natural tan in the midst of December doesn't sound north Russian to me) and discussed with them how best to proceed. They wanted 150 euros each, but hinted that we could negotiate. They were, however, unhappy to hear that I stayed at an upmarket hotel (Marriott -- five stars), not because they would have problems getting in, but apparently because their status in Romania was dodgy and they didn't want to shine a torch on themselves by cruising around in one of the city's in-places. They suggested a couple of alternatives (a small hotel they knew, a friends appartment), but it sounded too risky to me so we parted as friends. Tab around 60 euros. One remark, though: getting to Herestrau is easy (all cab drivers know it), but getting out of there is a hassle. A few private taxis scavenge like vultures, demanding 6-8 times the normal rate for a ride downtown. I asked the matre d' to call me a taxi, and he refused. (Obviously in cahoots with the vultures.) So in the end I just spent 20 minutes marching out of the park (it is dark, but not THAT dark) and stopped an ordinary taxi outside. - Not that I care about +/- 10 euros, but I don't like to be taken for a fool.

Not wanting to have wasted my evening, I drove to Hotel Ibis close to the main railway station (Gara de Nord) and checked into a small room. Outside the hotel, a ***** tout stands next to the taxi touts and approaches all single men with offers of wonderful things. I told him to get me a young busty girl for the night and within 20 minutes he did. Agreed rate: 100 euros. Only problem, she had to pay a large fee to his "contact service" so she started bargaining very aggressively for "something for me" on top of the rate. I gave her 50 euros extra. She was good looking and quite active in bed, though a reluctant kisser.

Night 3. I checked out the contact advertisements on xclub.ro. Some of them are bona fide matrimonial ads, but most of them tout escort services. I sent an e-mail to some of them and got machine responses in most cases. But I also got a response from Nicola, who agreed to meet me in my hotel for "70 euros for 3 hours and you can ejaculate where you want". The only thing was, I had to meet her on the pavement outside the hotel, for she could only enter accompanied. I accepted and we met (see photo). She was a sweet girl in the positive sense of the word, a bit big assed, but eager to please. I have to say that she was a bit stiff in bed -- apparently not out of reluctance but lack of experience. She could have been a semi-pro, but it is also possible that she normally operates more down market and is unsure how to deliver a premium service. All in all, enjoyable if not memorable. I slipped her 100 euros.

I'm planning a trip to Bucharest in February and would greatly appreciate some info.

1) Is there any street scene in Bucharest?

2) Are there any places on some near by country side worth visiting? I mean some 'luxury' brothels like the ones that can be found in the Czech Republic and Slovakia?

The prices at the online Escort agencies are way off the mark. I've written to some Escort girls at 'xclub.ro' but only get auto reply with a telephone number to call. Looks like they are all 'full time professionals' working for the local escort agencies.

I would suggest an apartment through aguy called Victor at Star Suites (you can look them up through the internet - eg google) in Uniri South - the apartment is modern, reasonably priced and well located. I'd often be propositioned walking down the main road up towards the intercontinental hotel. If the Club Dracula you are talking about is the house boat on the shore of the lake/pond in the park near the arch, yes... it appears to still be operational.

I just spent several weeks enjoying Bucharest and have to say that i had the time of my life at a strip club, if you can believe that. It's Mr. Big, near the technology university, Pizza Hut, a few of the Embassies (French one i think for sure), and i think it's the Asian something-or-other university.

I went on a Tuesday or Wednesday night around 22:00. When i walked in I was the only guy and had three gorgeous girls to myself. As the night progressed, I had all 6 of the girls dance, grind, grab, kiss, tounge, and stick various body parts into my mouth. Being from the states... I was in heaven. Been a while since I posted here. Some updates:

OddManOut - Yes, there is limited street action. I only know the center. Check at night around Magheru / p. Romana and the casinos. I don't recommend this. PM me for more.

Minimus77 - There are (just a few) black folks in RO, and I have seen them sometimes with local girls. So I would say the action shouldn't be zero, depending. I've found that compared to some other places in that area, Romanians tend to be a tolerant people.

Mr. Mellie - With all due respect, I have to add my note on Planters here. Yes, there are lots of nice single girls there. But there are also lots of uhh, "working women" there, too. Though I don't have direct experience with those type there, I did hear negotiations even outside the front door! Regarding Disco Herastrau (sigh!): Haven't you guys learned your lesson about that place from the previous posts?

It baffles me why people continue to take the risk on that place!

In the many weeks I spent there last year, I did not contemplate going there once. But, if you all want to keeping making the game tough.

Priamos - Do not walk in that area alone at night. It should be safe but, dogs have been known to gather in those spots. My only time at Disco Hera I did that, walking to the place (long story) and wouldn't repeat.
