Harng Sup-a-sin-khaa Robinson.
Has anyone tried Sachas Hotel Uno? Location looks very good (behind Robertson's).
That would be "behind Robinson Department Store" (for Thais sounds like "Row-bin-sun" not like "Robin-son") or close to Terminal 21. Sascha's Uno in Thai sounds like "Sar-char oo-NO!" not like "You-know". I only comment, as I recently told a taxi to take me to Robinson and at first he did not understand. Vowels sounds are critical to be correct in Thai language to be understood easily, unlike in English, where only the consonants really matter. Its a nuisance to have to learn how to pronounce names of places and Hotels in the Thai way.
A funny one: Colonze was pronounced something like "Coe-loan-SAY! My first attempt mystified the motor cycle driver, completely, where for English speakers there would be little problem. Sorry, just some trivia.
First Bangkok visit. Hotel Recommendations Please
Seniors and other fellow members I am travelling to Bangkok between 1st and 4th Nov. Currently have booked President palace hotel but am slightly in two minds yet.
I need a hotel with seating area if not a living room and a bathtub, pool. Options I have explored are as under.
1. Sofitel. Don't know about the guest policy. Don't want to end up paying 1000 baht every night I get someone to my room.
2. Radisson Blu. Again I don't know about the guest policy. Don't want to end up paying 1000 baht every night I get someone to my room.
3. Contingent. Have dropped it now as even their contingent room doesn't have seating area and they have 2 slow lifts. Don't want to be standing in the lobby waiting unnecessarily for lift.
4. Fraser and Grand Mercure suites. Have ruled out due to walking distance from BTS / main road. Am going to be out every day and will be returning often to hotel during day.
Hence seeking your inputs for a place accordingly.
