Take a look at the BoricuaOnline map. It is a long walk to Pasteur from Hotel Mercure but it can be an enjoyable walk. You can stop in the three casas on Pasteur and right around the corner is Club 305.

On the second floor of the airport there is a pharmacy that sells cialis, viagra, lapela. Cialis price at the airport pharmacy was about 500 pesos.
There are many, many pharmacies in SDQ and they always seem to have 5-8 clients at the counter when I go into to buy Cialis. The pharmacy on independencia and pasteur is most comfortable for me to buy cialis, I can't bring myself to ask for it in front of a bunch of people.
I felt the effects from the one Cialis for over two days.

I have not been to that bar in a while so I am not sure if it is still open.
Even though I have a rental car, I have walked many times from pasteur to zona colonial. Closest casa to zona colonial is foxys and baby dolls. Baby Dolls opens early. Depending what time you arrive at your hotel in zona colonial, you can walk to foxys then baby dolls then continue along the malecon to pasteur

2 of these guys are heavy into strip clubs back home and IMO will always be for the most part looking for the pros exclusively.
Where as myself and other buddy are more incline to hooking with a chicas on the websites or trying to hook up with chicas when we arrive who may or may not be pros plus also going out having fun at casas and clubs also. We are not really strip club guys like the other two, but have no problem with going to them or a casas.
On my 2 trips so far it seems to me that you can do both and that is what I have done and that is what I have told them.

A walk to Pasteur from Mercure can be an enjoyable walk having fun with your friends. Buy a beer, no problem drinking on the street, look at the chicas, buy an empanada or pizza slice, buy another beer in another place, look at the chicas while walking, some of the chicas are in search to met somebody too.
