I agree Hillbilly, but Tony can still drive you nuts if your anywhere near him. Buy me a beer, you want girl, you buy girl a beer? WTF it just drives me nuts! I can't deal with the guy anymore. Like I said I stop and say Hello, and keep moving. He ruins my trip, he is just to much of a pain the ass. I just want to relax and hook up when I'm down there not deal with that idiot.

You can buy your drinks directly from that place or bring your own cooler and cut Tony out completely. Thursdays, Fri, and Saturdays are the best days. Sunday I like to take it easy. Nights are slow on sundays but there still some girls out. But its definitely slower.

I have mongered all over the world and time with Lina (pronounced Leena) is probably among my top 5 all time experiences. I saw her on Playa Hollywood one afternoon, in a white hat, long white dress and celebrity style large sunglasses. She did not look like typical working girl. I hesitated a bit before I approached her with,"hola". At first she did not respond so I thought I screwed up and approached a non-pro. Few minutes later I saw her talk to another girl dressed like a typical working girl. I approached her for the second time. I got a friendly smile. (I don't think she heard me the first time). I asked her if I could buy her a drink. Took her to the only upscale bar on that beach, the one with red lounge cushions in front of a big hotel (did not notice names). Ordered half a bottle of Vodka. An hour into it, I asked her if she would like to go to my room and then go out to dinner. She agreed. I asked her about money and she said,"I do need money but that it is not the most important. I want to have fun and I will do my best to make sure you have fun. What ever you want to pay me at the end of the day is fine. I do not want to make this a pure business transaction." That was the last time we discussed money.

Lina is 24, light brown hair, great figure, Nice face, cute smile and is very sexy. She is intelligent, has a great sense of humour and open to anything. We went to the room showered, played around, went to cafe del mar, took carriage rides, went to La Vitriola, went to LDV and danced for a while, (Fragma is closed) and came back to the room for some more play. She stayed till morning. She left at 8 AM and came back at noon. We toured the city, she scored some we_d for me, went to the room and played. Freshened up, cafe del mar, went bar / restaurant hopping and ended up at Mr Babbiz (sp?) in Gantesmani. Cool bar with nice music. Went back to the room to continue the party there.

I had a phenomenal experience but she may not be the girl if you are looking for a fast fuck. For me, I would go back to CTG just to see Lina. If you see please treat her nice. You come across girls like this rarely.

BTW, the best coffee in town is at the internet cafe next to Presto's in Laguitos. Nice friendly folks that run that place. Also, I saw two decent working girls in that cafe.

Did you get my table at club the pesca or no time for that?

Hit me up sometime with lina's info, she sounds fun. I don't know how much mongering I'll be doing up there the next time I am there but if I am free I will hit her up for sure.

Last ti me I was in town I skipped tony and instead used the other touts services. They brought the same chics that were hanging out by Tony's tent and the beer was 3mil (which I figure is the right price) and less of a husstle. Food for thought if you're looking for an alternative.

La Vitrola is your recommendation and the guard at the door would not even let us in without a reservation but somehow managed to get the only table left in the place. It is packed. It is expensive but is the best restaurant experiences in all of latin America. Lina was elegantly dressed and got a lot of attention. She was hands down the best looking girl in the place and carried herself with poise. When she tasted something good, she was spoon feeding me while the rich latinos and their fat wives were giving me the eye. Our waiter loved the attention our table was getting.

Overall I have given up on sushi in Colombia, there is one place that used to have decent stuff in Santa Marta but it was a headache to maintain for them. The stuff in the interior is just atrocious, even in Bogota it's only mediocre.

Was thinking about going to CTG for some hobbying. But because of the weird flight schedules, would possibly have to go Sun to Wed. Is it worth it? Or is the action good only on the weekends?

There is a good sushi place located in Plaza San Diego that goes by the name of Teriyaki. It's diagonal from the Santa Clara hotel. That could be the one you visited, Vitrea. There's another good sushi place that is not too far from Plaza San Diego that is called Tabetai. It's a place that has only 4 or 5 small, close-together tables, but I like the sushi a little better than the Teriyaki. Of the two, Teriyaki stays open later and is easier to find, which has come in handy a couple of times after having several "before dinner" drinks back at the apartment, LOL.

Bolomd, a guy can find "action" most any day in CTG. You'll be fine on a Sun to Wed trip, unless it's during Christmas or New Year's or Easter (those 3 weeks I'd skip unless I had local friends, a favorita, amigovias, plenty of chicas numbers, etc.). Now, Thur to Sat Nights there will be many more people at regular bars / clubs, etc, but when it comes to getting laid even a blind squirrel could find several nuts Sun to Wed in CTG, if he leaves his nest. That being said, since this is your first trip to Cartagena, I'd suggest you find a time where you can stay a little longer than 3 nights (if not, then try to run the coattails of a wingman who knows the lay of the land your first day). If you've traveled Colombia, just not the Cart, then 3 nights may be just right for you, especially if it's part of an extended trip that includes other cities or pueblos.

Tabetai "looked" more authentic to me with a Japanese chef behind the Sushi bar and we watched him make it while hanging out at the bar, waiting for one of the 4 tables to vacate. I was friendly enough so some big local family let Lina and I sit with them. I enjoy that aspect of travel as much as mongering.

Its better on weekends, but there are always women around. It is what you make it. Its always a good time.

I enjoy that aspect of travel as much as mongering.[/QUOTE]Vitrea, after re-reading my original post, probably wasn't clear, but I agree with your statement: Tabetai is a little better of the two, but I give Teriyaki a close second. One reason I put Tabetai ahead is the owner / chef that you alluded to. Not that I personally know him (Edgar is from Venezuela with some Japanese ancestry) , but it's tough to beat having the owner prepare his chef's selections for you personally. Both times I've eaten there I've just asked him to prepare and serve several of his "chef favorites" for us to try. While they all were delicious, the salmon and tuna dishes were especially so.

The Teriyaki, while certainly good, just doesn't have that "owner / chef come out from behind the counter to do everything just right" experience. In addition to being a close 2nd, Teriyaki is much easier to find after several pre-dinner rounds of guaro, LOL. There's been a couple of occasions when I ended-up there because Tabetai had closed by 9 pm.

Heck, I'm impressed you found Tabetai. The first night I tried to find the place I had to keep walking around and asking locals even though I was dining with locals who'd lived there and thought they' knew where to find most every good restaurant in the old city, LOL.

Yeah, I went to Terikyaki, it was OK (certainly better than Sushi to Go!) but nothing wonderful. Took my girlfriend who'd never had Japanese food before so I was glad it wasn't a total trainwreck. There is also Teriyaki in Bogota, which is quite similar but not the same owners, weird.

I will have to try this other spot the next time I am in CTG for sure, thanks for the heads up.
