As far as I know it is the best in Moscow, obviously run by someone who appreciates mongering and the needs of mongerers. They are totally liberal about bringing in outside girls as long as you accompany them (no requirement of I'd as far as I known, and there are usually 4-10 in the lobby area after 22:00. Breakfast includes a relatively large selection of food and lasts until 1700 (!) and there are telephone calls to anywhere in the world for free. They are also often not as fully booked as other moscow hotels, and not as far away from the centre as Cosmos or Ismailovskiy. The minuses are: the in-house girls cost 6000 RUR for an hour, a bit more than many salons (brothel) , it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the nearest metro stations (vorobyovye gory and leninskiy prospekt) , vorobyovye gory is through a little forest so you may not want to opt for leninsky prospekt at night, taxis in front of the hotel are a rip-off, so you will want to call a radio taxi, the wifi was not entirely stable last I was there.

At Korston there is a shortish girl with naturally ultra-blonde / red hair and lots of freckles in the lobby most nights. If you are on limited time, salons really can turn out to be cost effective; even in the more expensive places like Charm'El, Fantasys, and Atel. And there are scads of these places in Moscow. What was your experience like, finding your way to Dolce Vita? Did you call the salon directly? Or speak with a dispatcher? Was the conversation in Russian? English? Both? Sounds like you didn't have much trouble finding the place, since there is a map on the website. Any problem getting buzzed in? Getting buzzed out?

All these details may seem pretty mundane, but these are what tend to defeat most tourists trying to access a salon in Moscow.

To Stravinsky (or perhaps rather to the benefit of readers who know Russia less well) : My experience with Dolce Vita was very similar to that with other salons. I speak what most foreigners would consider very fluent Russian so the whole thing was done in Russian. I have a feeling it would be quite difficult to get in for a non-Russian speaker, simply because the dispetcher probably doesn't speak English and certainly is not very patient. For non-Russian speakers perhaps the upmarket places would be easier, in any case perseverance would be a necessity (and would probably ultimately pay off).

Of course one has to have a mobile with a Russian number to get into any salon. First I call from my hotel room / apartment where things are nice and quiet. I make sure to have some paper and a pen ready to take notes. It is important to use your mobile phone and not a landline or some other number from the very first call, so that they can recognize you as the guy who called a half an hour ago etc. I think the person answering my call to Dolce Vita was a dispetcher, and my impression is that most salons have dispetchers answering the phone. The dispetcher is usually in a hurry, and not particularly understanding, and certainly the Dolce Vita one was. She takes for granted that you know the city, know where major streets and metro stations are etc. So if you can work out some details about the location before you call her that is also good. She will bark something at you. Just be polite and persistent and ask control questions to get as clear info as possible. Most likely she will give you an address and approximate location, this is what I got with Dolce Vita. When I got there, I needed to call her again and she explained me where the actual entrance is. With Dolce Vita I had to make 2-3 calls from the street because the traffic was so noisy and I was a little unsure where the place was. It was one of those situations where you have a map but what you don't realize is that Moscow buildings and blocs are a km long, so distances are much greater than you think. Anyway, I ultimately found the door and rang the bell and was let in without any trouble. Since the door led directly to the street and the apartment was directly inside it was easy to get in. With a lot of salons this would be much more difficult. When I left the last girl I was with just accompanied me to the door and let me out.

The latter term is often used by those protecting the act. I don't think any of us guys would call the removal of the head of the penis "circumcision" yet this procedure is as bad or worse than that.
