Hotels near the action / riverside with a pool are just not cheap. Its simple really only the larger nicer hotels have pools they charge more. The cheapest hotel with a pool sort of near the action I think would be Billabong but it is definitely not GF. Casa I think would not be that cheap either and is sort of a fair way away from the action. Have a look at Himawary and Cambodiana. Other hotels with pools are down near Mao Tse Toung and Nordom intersections type distance or Phnom Penh International out near Calmet all are going to cost you more than the $70 of the previous hotel I mentioned which is absolute central and reasonably priced for what it is.

You have to be a millionaire to pay $70 for a hotel in Cambodia, my $15 a night one was decent enough, I'm sure you can get some nice ones for under $50, for $70 there should be a model waiting for you in the bed.

Some pay less some pay more. You clearly pay what you can afford, but that doesn't give you any judgemental rights over those of us who are happy to pay more.

Last trip I had a great room for US$45. And only paid one bf in 5 days.

Relax about the money. You were hounded off the Manila board for that very reason.

Zanzibar is on 104 near the Cavern. I had a ball there two nights ago. Make sure you say hi to Ato and Achan if you go.

Sure you can get a good hotel for $15. If I was going to stay in a hotel it would be in the $15-$20 a night bracket too. But the original poster said he wanted a pool and to be on the riverside. This changes everything supply and demand rules.

These days you can find out a lot via Internet! So I did some searching about the hotels with swimmingpool and indeed found some in the centre (I guess)! And, all below the 50 USD! There is the queenwood hotel going for 27usd, splash inn for 45, eighty8 for 20 USD, Manor house 40usd and eureka villa for 50 USD!

So, now it will be very difficult to make a choice! But I certainly post my experiences after I have been three! I guess all the mentioned hotels above are girlfriendly too! I might go for the first one, the queenwood hotel, it seems to be centrally near the bars and with swimmingpool on the roof! Anyone has experience with this hotel?

Queenwood looks pretty good. I would never of guessed they had a pool on the roof. Prices seem to vary a lot for it depending where you book. Also check the number of persons when you book just in case when you get there they try and charge you for another person. As for GF no idea never stayed at any of the hotels you mention or know of anybody that has. Good luck and have a good trip.

Now has a pool aswell, although I've never actually seen anyone use it every time I've walked past there.

But the name of that hotel is the Pillar Hotel. I think I paid 35 dollar where they also have vey large rooms for 50 dollar, and all including a decent breakfast.
