Its going to f*k you up with American or European women for the rest of your life. Your time will be spent either reminiscing or planning your next trip. My first trip out of the country was in 1998. I haven't dated an American woman since. I'm 10 years older than you, in reasonably good shape, shower and shave every day, and don't present myself personally as a slob or a drunken slob as I don't consume much alcohol. I come across with pinays as hansum, personable and kind with a good sense of humor. I have no problem pulling 18-25 in AC or Manila, both "good girls" and bar girls.

All true, and every time I come back from an Asian trip satisfied and feeling like a man should, the local girls (Americana's in my case) sense this in me and react differently to me than before I ventured East. Every time I return I get a lot more smiles and sexy looks from the Florida girls and my batting average with them goes way up. Asia has changed me, forever!
Of course, after you shag an American girl you are still stuck with her insular feminist point of view and start longing to be with Asian girls again and I am not talking about Asian American girls. Asian women born and raised in the USA or any western country are no better than their Caucasian sisters. Modern western culture has destroyed western women IMO. So I will never stop going to Asia (PI, Thailand, Cambodia, and South China). It is simple; few western women know how to or care to please a man any more. They have been brainwashed to act and think like men. The only problem is, they ARE women and can’t escape that fact. I still find American girls physically attractive, but I can't stand their personalities after a week or so.
I always knew something was wrong, but never knew what it was until my first trip to Thailand back in 1989. What an eye opener that trip was. Since then a lot of my friends have come with me on trips to Asia and every one of them has reached the same conclusion. My friends who have not made the trip don’t get it. They seem unsure of themselves by comparison and are totally wussed out by the women they shag or are in relationships with. I feel sorry for these guys still suffering under the tyranny of feminist BS and living in sexual prison. But hey, that’s their problem. My next trip is scheduled for October. I can't wait.
First time in manila. I will be there August 3 for two weeks. I'm curious do I need to get any vaccinations? A
If its your first time, you are likely to spend a day riding the porcelain bus (the toilet) after eating the local food. The likelyhood of catching flu / common cold from the girls you meet is also quite high, since the strains of the flu present here are different from what you are immune to in your home country.
For more serious diseases. There is dengue fever and malaria on some of the islands but not on any of the typical tourist destinations.
Sexually transmitted diseases are not as widespread as in the african countries, but gonorrhea and chlamydia is fairly common. Condom up!
All that been said, I would NOT recommend to get any vaccinations. They often do more long term harm than good. For more in depth discussion on this topic check.

http://curezone.com/topic/vaccination/
Boost your immunisation by ensuring you have enough sleep, less alcohol, and multi-vitamin. And if it is your first time, ensure you have good food.
Some places are crappy and you will be forced to eat crappy food, and a week of crappy food can cause more hurt than getting runover by a jeepney.

Unfortunately there aren't vaccinations against STD's, Malaria and Dengue.
Have fun!

Have fun!
Theres also no vaccination against stupidity either. I seem to forget to eat when I'm in Manila frequently, and generally forget to sleep too. Oh and drink too much and have way too much sex.

A
I agree with the tetanus and Hep A and B recommendations and would strongly urge that you get them. As to riding the porcelein pony, I disagree. I've lived here for 8 years, or almost, and I think I've had dynsentery twice. Just don't eat off the street. Don't eat in local "eateries" and you'lll be fine. As a precaution, when you arrive, go to any pharmacy and buy ten Cipro 500 mg. Tablets and keep them handy. At the first sign of dynsentery, take one, and then two a day thereafter for 5 days.

GE
As to not eating off the street take a look at how food is stored off the street after cooking.
Its left to heat if thats the right word in chafing dishes, with one small fuel capsule keeping it slightly warmed, even tho the food is left in the open (uncovered) with the outside temperature at 32 plus degrees.
Of course in the more refined off the street places a girl will ocassionally waft a stick in the direction of the food thereby ensuring no fly gets anywhere near the food.
And you wonder why people get sick.

Another first timer
I've got my premier trip planned on the 7th, maybe not the best time to go with what is happening in angeles but maybe that is par for the course. Anyway can I get a real break down of prices in Manila vs Angeles. I realize there is a difference per girl and bar but what is actually norm? It seems normal price is also for all night sometimes the next day too, do these girls not want a quick pop? Sometimes I just want to be done with them and kick them out of the room.
Also back to another topic not to long ago. Food poisoning. Is it that bad there? I've been to Tijuana and south South Korea which were probably the two worst places I have been food wise and never gotten anything. I try to be careful but every once in awhile I'll realize I'm brushing my teeth with tap water or something and pull an "oh shit" I only drink bottled water or beer in US so I'm fairly safe there, but hearing bottles be recycled and what not, is it that much worse there than in any other third world country? Thanks!

I don't eat in the local cheap restaurants (eateries) , and I never eat off the street. As I think I suggested before, when you get here, go to any pharmacy and buy a complete course (ten pills) of Ciprofloxicin (500 mgs.) in case you have a problem, but it's likely that you won't. You cannot of course, drink the water, but I brush my teeth with Manila water from the tap all the time, and I don't know the source of the water that went into the ice cubes in whatever I'm drinking. Again, if you stick to reasonable restaurants you should be fine.

Food Poisoning

Thanks!
Madison, you will be fine. If you can handle Tijuana and S Korea this place is no worse. Basic rules: never drink tap water, never eat from a food stall on the street, never eat from Jollibee / Chowking or the other one that seems to be tied to these two, never drink the ice, only eat cooked food, only go to upscale restaurants, if something looks or smells bad it probably is.
I didn't mean to send the board into hysteria, the reality is I have the weakest stomach in the world. I seem to get the loose stools no matter where I travel or what I eat.

Thanks!
The safety levels for cleanliness in all the mall eateries in Manila (Makati and Ortigas Center, for example) , are high and you should not have much of a problem if you eat in high-turnover restaurants and the well-known chains (Pizza Hut, KFC, etc).
I would be more selective in any of the food courts in these malls. Some of the food sits there at low heat for who-knows-how-long so I would be wanting to buy something that is grilled while I wait (like a chicken barbecue) if ever I needed to eat in a food court.
Most of the larger hotels in Manila treat the water coming through their systems (try smelling the water on most early mornings and you will get a good whiff of chlorine-type smell)
My condo treats the water that we get through the water system and none of my family or visitors have ever had any problem with using it for teeth-brushing etc.
We drink water from the large dispensers that are distributed by the water companies. The same ones that produce the bottled water that you buy in 7/11 and supermarkets.
Restaurants get their ice from the same source, delivered in cubes etc in large bags that come from the same bottled water sources.
I believe that you can trust these sources. Both GE and I have had no problems in our accumulated 24 years of experience living here but we are careful where we eat.
I would be wary about the small eateries that locals use along the streets in Ermita and Malate in "old" Manila, and especially the street carts. We have all seen the way they chop up their ice on the pavements next to where people spit and [CodeWord140] all day.
