Others on here I am sure do the late night ops and maybe more comfortable with it but MTY overall a much more conservative city versus Tijuana so do the math.

MTY is a ses pool of hookers, massage parlors, and bars, on my last trip I went to El Centro by the bus station and I found a good bar that had chicas and norteño. I would have to respectfully disagree, on a Sunday, I was duckin from sun up to sun down. At night the freaks truly come out at night in, Monterrey, it's way more grimmier than Tijuana but the payoff is so worth it.

Are the dance clubs with p4 p options also in Centro where all this fun is? And where to get good meals in a nice environment close to your hotel where can sit down away from the street, relax and throw back some cervezas? I know San Pedro but is farther from the action. I have stayed in Obispado next to the HEB closer to Centro and with good dining, Crown Plaza and Paseo Tec areas.

I walked around Centro during the day and not too impressed with dining options; either all fried fast food places or taco joints.

Several Uber drivers and others have warned me that this a dangerous area. I have taken the bus to MTY and the first thing I want to do is get the hell out of there and get to San Pedro.

The place I went to was Jarra 2, I saw some 8's but they were taken away, this was on a Sunday, the music played hard. I'm booked for Tijuana / San Diego in 2 weeks however the weather at least compared to this week 20 degrees colder WTF! It is a bit on rough side, but some of us like these types of place. The place was called San Carlos Valle, not worth it in my opinion; I should have gone to La National, oh well.

In terms of hotels, stay at your favorite one then go to the motels for 20 usd for 4 hours. You don't need to stay at Arteaga, it's a nice to place to be but it's so cheap to take Uber in Mexico that you might as well be at the place you feel most comfortable.
