CS is right. I only exchange money at the airport for taxi if I don't have sufficient pesos left over from the last trip for the taxi ride. And I never ever ever change money on the street. Rate is not a factor in that environment. Safety is.

Have you considered just getting it from ATM's?
That's what I usually do...too lazy to be running to money exchangers.

It's got to be the shithole of the whole world after expriencing many other countries. What people see in the Phils is beyond me. Might as well go to the worst place in India. It's go to be way better!
You were bare backing her right and your not clipped? What the fuck you expect?
Nothing wrong with being a father and family man E. Just do what other prominent ISG members do who are fathers and husbands. Ignore your family and spend your spare time on this board googling dilapidated hookers, flaming other members, chatting with Filipinas online, and mongering.
No worries.
I don't know how it is for your currency, but when I change dollars at the airport it's not that far off whatever anyone else is exchanging elsewhere. I say change enough to get you to AC to pay for your transport and a day or two of activities. I don't think the difference is going to be material in the long run. Then you can take your time if you really want to shop your exchange rates. On a side note, I hear more banks there are charging extra fees for ATM usage so it may not work to do that so much if you have to pay those fees.
Just don't change money at your hotel. There you will get ripped off. If you have to there will be money changers on Fields open. Just make sure you don't get pickpocketed by the little buggers.

Careful with that uh?
There are strict (low) limits on how much of their worthless currency you can bring in or out to the country. They would much rather you bring some of those nice USD or EURO or something hehehe :)
The limit of Pesos that must be declared on entry or exit is P10,000.
The limit of foreign currency that must be declared on entry or exit is US$10,000

AV
Ya sure. But easily p2000 will comfortably get a gent from the airport to his hotel, and a bite to eat, before worrying about how to get some cash. Its not wise to step off the airplane without at least a bit of 'their worthless currency' in your pocket. There are drawbacks to getting foreign currency in any market: expensive from your bank to exchange it in your originating country; expensive transaction fees from the ATM, and also the money changer issue of safety.
Don't get too hung up on the minor fluctuations in the exchange rate though unless you are changing big bucks.
I know a guy who spent an hour or two one morning in Malate going from one Money Changer to another looking for the best rate.
It varied from 44.30 up to 44.45. He changed $200 so he was talking about a difference of 30 pesos for God's sake, and wasted most of a morning to get the best rate.
When I ribbed him about it he said it was the "principle" of the thing.

He was in Malate and went to a street money exchanger and was shorted 15,000P on a $1000 and he went to the police and it took four days, but he finally got his money. If I am exchanging a $1000 in a street exchange booth I always right down the serial numbers of my bills prior to going. I have heard of exchangers taking your bills and lowering them below the glass and raising back up and claiming that they are counterfeit bills.

How are you getting to AC? As Liondale said, If you have a driver he will stop for you at an ATM.
Ya sure. But easily p2000 will comfortably get a gent from the airport to his hotel, and a bite to eat, before worrying about how to get some cash.
Depends. Some locations I don't put hotel on CC's due to tracking / work issues. If you are staying in AC and paying cash some hotels require full cash up front at check in (or did been a long time since I was in AC so I should clarify that some hotels in general require full pmt at check in).
If you pay cash for hotels and you are doing a room that is 4 or 5, 000 peso a night for 10 days, that's not a low amount. Even my recent stay at the dump in QC was 6 or so days at 2, 000 peso cash up front before check in even for one night.
Personally I have Bank Accounts set up in various countries so I can wire money into and use a local ATM.
I might have to get a monger CC come to think about it, but send the bills where, under what fake name, etc. To many issues.
i am preparing a report for each of my days in manila, but this nights meeting was so strange that i have to post it now.
thursday
widow maria (45yo) arrived actually friday at 0130. she chatted me up in dia.
i had been stood up by 666666 in dia, as she had promised to meet 2130, after work in mall of asia. surely some kids that like to play the foreigners, since ”she” had hit on me earlier wanting to meet.
i had prepared myself, as in 20mg cialis, and was ready to meet the world and have what ever pussy coming along surrender to me. well – this cutie did not meet up.
instead ms maria arrived as agreed, and she was not really like herself from the picture in dia. of course and adult, mature, but really did not look like herself from the picture. because of the time of night, i invited her to my room and she was a cowboy – or should i say the cowboy, and i am not talking brokeback mountain.
since i had taken the cialis i thought: i can do that. and to begin with i could. i was hard, she was wet, very wet, so when i entered i would have needed the sunday issue of new york times as assistance to make the pussy tight. she had 6 kids, but i think she lied about that. must have been twice the number. i think she was twice the age she told me also.
one bad thing about cialis. it will work with stimulation and when u have your mind at what you are about to do, right? viagra just works. so, after her first couple of orgasms, mine dozed off. so she wanted to kiss with tongues, and tried to deepthroat me with her tongue. i had to push her away and say that was for the asawa only (i felt like a *hore selling myself ha ha ha ha). she started to give me a bj and play with the dick to make me hard again. she must have put her teeths under the pillow cause i could not feel a thing other than it was wet. and her hands playing was likewise. not feeling a thing.
she then started to play herself, real hard. say you like to watch, she said. oo, i said.. ha ha ha ha. i really dont know where i got the energy from but i fcuked her a 2nd time and she easily came again. did i tell that she had been a widow for about 7 years, and i was her first man in 7 years? i could not come, so i pretended i did. i told her i had a vasectomy, so there is no cum as proof, i said. really? really? i did not know that, she said.
then a cigarette and to bed to sleep. she tried to [CodeWord123] me, so i had to push her away, and hold her down, making her relax. she had two small glasses of redwine, but i dont know if that was enough to make her like a maniak.
i had invited her for breakfast, but luckily one of the children called about allowance to buy food in the school today, so she had to home before breakfast. she was very sorry about it, and i agreed of course. i gave her 500 peso for the taxi back to rizal, but she asked if i could help her with the allowance for food for the kids. i told her to negotiate with the cabdriver, not me.
summing up: cialis does not always work.
promise made to myself: never invite a girl of more than 35 again.
she was a fun lady with a lot of humor, but w-i-l-d. she is a businesslady owning some stores/boutiques, so to save both of us from any embarrasement i will not share her profile.
now for some breakfast (almost 7am already) and then sleep, before i shall meet the beautiful ms. e in the afternoon.
(i may have to revert to this post and make some corrections. i am just too tired to look look it over right now)
