Hello, fellow mongers. Might any of you be so kind as to give a fellow monger some advice? If you were visiting South Korea for 36 hours, where would you stay? Where would you go? I live in Manila (over 20 years), so I'm looking for something truely Korean. Blind massage with sex after, barbershop blow job, things like that, not just the usual juicy bar which I have in abundance here in the Philippines. What part of Seoul would you stay in?

I haven't been to these bars in a while. Years ago I had some good times with some old regulars at VIP, Tiger Tavern, Starbutts/ING (bosslady moved to Y. E. Lotus) and a couple others. I made a brief tour recently (2 weeks ago) and made some (expensive) connections at Apple and Cabin. Just wanted to pass on the info to those on the board, as a reference point. At this point, neither deal has been sealed, but it took only one return visit to get that far (hey, that's my style, I prefer to be relaxed and work my way in as a returnee. Hence the disclaimer that it was expensive.)

The girl in Cabin (she says she's half-Japanese, and she looks it) seems like a nice person when I met her the first time. Generally, no, although, as noted in the original quote, you may find a few early birds ~ 5PM or a few lingerers after 7 until 8-9 am. The chances of that are greater the later in the week it is and on weekends. A couple of possibilities are "ABC" and "Bridge" (near the top on the left) and Moonshine (about half way up on the right)(see map in ROD section). It's a real crap shoot, though, and may not be worth the time and effort you have to make to get there. Better daytime options are the hotel sauna tub 'n tugs and the foreigner friendly anmas in Gangnam (e.g., "Call" - RTF)

Thanks for confirming Kimchi Warrior. I read up on the anma scene and I think I will actually pass by on engaging in mongering activities while in Seoul. Spend my money on restaurants and electronics instead! :-)

You can save your money on electronics, too; no deals to be had here. The gustatory scene, though, has improved a lot of late.

From what I can tell. Call is the only recommended anma in Seoul that's foreigner friend. Does anyone have anymore they might recommend? (with addresses or landmarks please) what about in Suwon?

As for where to find the places, RTFF! Plenty of information on massage parlors, red lights, etc. Korea has both cheap and expensive options.

Also, there is a red light district near every part of Seoul (last time I was there, about 5 districts in the city of Seoul, with 3 more located within 30-45 minutes of Seoul). Massage parlors are everywhere (the best ones are near the business districts, I. E. Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-dong, Apgujeong-dong).
