Im planning a trip to Thailand and was wondering if anyone used a web service (which one) to make hotel reservations at the following Hotels:
LK Metropole Pattaya
Majestic suites in Bangkok
A few posters stayed at these hotels but out of all the web travel agencies I found either no listing or a higher price than if I made a direct reservation with the hotel.…
Can anyone give me some enlightenment on this situation?

Majestic Suites - Bangkok
I have used the website for the Majestic Suites when I stayed there in 2005 and this past Feb of 2006. I think I used a website service to book a room in 2005 (sorry, I don't remember what site that was) but used their home website to book a room in 2006.

I've have had very good luck with them and I like their rooms and the location being close to Nana.
I have not yet tried using the website for LK Metrople but I'm thinking about staying there on my next trip to Pattaya.

Areca Lodge - Gotta give it a thumbs down
Here's why:
The first two nights and part of the third were fine. Room good, pool good, gym so so, breakfast just ok, location acceptable. The first night I brought a girl back, walked past the front, smiled at the clerk, clerk smiled at me, went upstairs and did the deed. Ditto for the second night. Ditto for the first girl I found on the third. I brought girls back and nobody as much as lifted a finger.
Then I brought back a girl from Champagne A Go Go at about 2 am. Walked past the front, smiled at the clerk, clerk asks for girl's ID. Girl doesn't have ID. I say that I'll take responsibility for her. The clerk ( a woman) starts lecturing me about bringing back prostitutes, being a gentleman, making Pattaya look bad, etc. I'm thinking, 'Where the hell am I? The lobby of a hotel in Pattaya or the lobby of the NOW Headquarters in Washington? While this feminazi clerk was still in the middle of her shrill lecture I turned around and marched my girl to the elevator. But before it could close a security guy was there holding the door and threats were made to call the police. At this point the game was up and the girl was really scared. I had to let her go home. At least I hadn't had to pay a barfine (report in Pattaya reports).
I made it back to the front to give the feminist clerk one last piece of my mind but it was too late to go out and find another girl with an ID. I had to get up at 6 to catch a ride to Koh Chang, where I am now. When I checked out I was too tired and hung over to feel like having it out with the management.
I can understand the need for an ID card. But for 2 days plus I was allowed to bring girls back. Then all of a sudden the rules changed and were inflexible, and I'm being lectured about morality in the middle of Sin Central.
I won't return to this place and I can't recommend it to others. It might be ok if others stay here but it proved to be schizophrenic on the girl friendly aspect. And it definitely proved to have staff that are hostile to mongers. Go figure.
I was about to give this place a glowing recommendation. But after that I feel there are too many other good places in town to take a chance on this one
