enigma and poturu-
1) in barranquilla spanish is a necessity.
2) enigma you wrote cali gals like to party and barranquilleras are conservative? go to barranquilla before you write a statement like that. my sense is you will come back switching that statement the other way.
3) poturu- how much money do you need for a girlfriend? how do you land a gf immediatley? wow... tough questions. i know people that spend gobbles of money on gifts and i know people that spend zilch and treat their chica like shit. it's really up to you. personally i treat every chica i've ever been with or gone on a date with like an absolute princess.
4) i can also tell you that never, ever have i had a bad experience with a chica anywhere in colombia. sure maybe with a non-pro i don't jump in the sack with her... but as far as seeing people post things refering to cbj or no, no , no. i've never had that problem. i just always do what's natural, treat them like a princess, and enjoy myself. granted i haven't done any p4p in a very long time, but when i did... i never spoke about money and ive never not had a p4p spend the night. then in the morning, i cook her breakfast, make fresh orange juice... typically they'll want to stay all day long. you have to make up an excuse to get rid of them. as far as the money goes.. just stick whatever you want in their purse and that's it. the subject of price never even comes up. the subject of cbj, or anal etc never even come up. if you are enjoying yourself and you are pleasing them, the world is the limit. colombianas are the most passionate human beings on the face of the earth. for someone to post how dull it was etc... is just mindboggling.
5) as for choosing between cali and barranquilla... barranquilla does have a pro scene and has toppless bars/brothels.. but it's really narrowed down to lusiatania, 2 different sections in el murillo, and then some other casas rep001tered around. i think lusitania sucks. i wouldn;t recommend a gringo going to the casas in el murillo, and the other casas rep001tered around are really pretty weak. so to me... if you want a pro... forget barranquilla. if you want a non-pro... i think you need more than 7-8 days. but, if that is what you are stuck with my biggest recommendation would be to join cybercupido, match.com, meetic.com, etc and write as many chicas that interest you as humanly possible. then start chatting with them.. daily. you should have over 100 contacts within 2 weeks. you really need to sweet talk these gals. within a few weeks you will know of all your contacts... who is worth deleting, who would be a cool friend, who you really want to fuck, and who you would absolutely marry in a heartbeat. some of my best friends were met on these sites, as was my current girlfriend of over a year. go figure. so you ask... how do you get an instant girlfriend... well, i will tell you if you go this route and spend 2-3 months chatting these gals up. you will have a minimum of 5 that will absolutley jump your bones the second they see you. assuming you take them down this path..i.e. really get to know them, compliment, sweet talk them. hell i even had a chica off match.com go to my hotel, shower, get in bed naked and wait for me before we met face to face. you don't think that was a great fuck? any of course, anyone i fuck wants to be my girlfriend. (granted you will have had to have paid for the room and also it be somewhere the hotel knows you... i.e. this was at an apartastudio i had stayed at on numerous nights in the past). so is a girlfriend easy? it should be. ah.. don't forget, once you start talking to these gals online, look at their myspaces.. they wil lhave pics of their freinds etc. if you really think one of thier friends is hot... well, now you know who you really want to be your best freind. gear the conversations towards a friendship... she'll think "cool, a guy that wnats to be my friend, take me out and isnt trying to gett in my pants in return." then when you tell her, bring her friend.. and specifically you are really interested in the gal in her myspaces.. wha tdo you think she will say? no. duh, of course not.
i also forgot to mention there are some escort services in barranquilla. never
partook.
6) this is colombia... getting a nonpro is nothing like trying to get a nonpro in the us. colombianas are passionate, sweet, and horny. i reapeat... passionate, sweet and horny. yes horny.
7) age... it's the same in both. ive seen many hotties with ugly and old colombianos and gringos. get that out of your mind and if what you want is an 18-25 year old... go after an 18-25 yr old. forget about this 28-30 yr idea. my sense is while a 28-30 yr old might be easier... i bet it will be much more of a headache. colombianas are also very mature. in fact, id say that many 14 yr old colombianas are more mature than a us 20 year old... it's just the way they are brought up. that being said an 18-20 yr old colombiana is no baby. if you are worried about your looks and/or age then it will be a problem. if you are not worried about these things than it will absolutely not be a problem.

in cali i had busniess cards given to me all the time for chicas and numerous people... doormen, taxis etc ask if i wanted a chica. this rarely happens in barranquilla. the proscene/semipro scene in cali is probably much bigger in cali.

the last important thing i would probably say is cali is more dangerous than barranquilla. nothing has ever really happened to me in either city... danger lurks in both. just keep your eyes open.

Exactly, age is not a factor unless you make it one. No matter what others may say on this board, I firmly believe this, and have had no problems at all.

Be respectful, treat the chicas like gold, have a cool and young attitude and see what happens.

The people of Barranquilla, their friendliness and natural beauty, is what makes this city great.

It's not so much a green card and money with the real nonpros that have a heart. You have to understand, these gals grow up in a society where fidelity is very rare. They get fucked when they are who knows how old and they watch their parents, brothers, and sisters in this nonstop web of infidelity. This is not to say all Colombian families are this way. However, it is much more tolerated and accepted than in the US. In the US if the husband cheats on his wife you can instantly see divorce papers asking for 50% if not more. In Colombia... sheesh... husband with kids age 21 and 19 may have 4 girlfriends, anywhere in the ages of 15-23. Some may even be his daughter's friends and he may be the father of his daughter's friends kids.... and the middle-aged Colombian wife will stay with him. So... if you grew up seeing this and this is accpeted in your society, wouldn't you jump at the chance to actually have a man from overseas take you out of train-wreck future? It's their dream... not the green card or money(though this is it with the money diggers... to which you will have to learn to point out over time, which also isn't very easy), the sheer idea of a chance to be with someone who may actually give them the love they think they deserve and actually have a non-broken family. Ask any Colombiana what they see in a gringo.. old or young and the majority will answer... Seguridad. This menas a lot of things. Financial security, the sense of warmth and love.. .that someone actually loves them and isn't going to knock them up and leave them as a single mother... which is very very prevelant. So... I would not say it's solely green card and money for all the gals.

Yes, a lower class working chica with kids is more needy thus probably much easier if your goal is to get in the pants of a non-pro. However, I think you can throw almost any middle-class Colombiana in the mix of those that would love to have an extranjero that treats them with class and dignity and gives them security... look at their alternative... I explained it above. The above is their alternative... that or marry into a wealthy Colombian family... which.. yes the above happens quite often as well. So sure.. you may have no luck with upper class... though I know some upperclass married women looking for young whippersnappers. They could care less whether it's a Colombiano or a gringo... as long as they have the control and you'd get paid a healthy penny. Now how's that for a twist. Did you read where I wote earlier... Colombianas are horny. At all social levels.

Poturu- A few more suggestions...
1) This is something I wouldn't pesonally do because part of the fun is the challenge of actually bonding with the chica and also I like to create REAL friendships. However, if you are truly short on time, my bet is Peter Solano's way of putting an ad in the local paper probably would work. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't do it... mainly becuase I feel the relationship is fake. Sure you may fall depply in love with someone and they with you as I did with a chica I met online. But we also corresponded by cam and mic for months before we met face to face. This newspaper ad will probably get a lot of jokers, money diggers, etc. But you will probably get responses from genuine chicas as well. Is it worth the cost? Well, if you want a GFE and don't want to pay a prostitute I'd probably say so. It also may lead to a lot of "meet once and then never again dates," which could rack up in costs... so my suggestion would be to meet them for a coffee, lunch, or happy hour beverage. As opposed to saying, lets hit the town on a Friday night with someone you've never met. You asked how much it would cost for a girlfriend... so my sense is this route is probably pretty cheap if you really fear that you will have a hjard time pulling in chicas. I think Peter charges like $100 or so. Certainly a lot more than the ad costs... but my sense is he helps out a lot in the process... and do you have a cedula? If not, I dont think you can put an ad in the paper on your own.
2) To get past the fear of rejection due to your age, and if you are really only going for a short period of time to Barrnaquilla. I would go sit on the corner of calle 93 and I think it's around 43b which is the address of Autonomo, a university in a stratus 5+ neighborhood. Sit on the corner, spend 1k pesos for a frsh orange juice.. maybe buy a bag of deditos for 500 pesos and say hello to every single chica that passes by you that you'd have the urge to bang. Go around 11:30am or 1:30pm. The majority of them have lunch break from 12-2pm. So get there before noon right before they leave or get there around 1:30pm... right before they come back. Heck there are people walking by there at all times of the day so it probabkly doesn't really matter when you do it. I just recommended those times as most likely they won't be in a rush to get to class. Ok, you said you speak fluent Spanish. So say hello, compliment them and strike up a conversation. Say anything. Sit there with your camera and tell them you are doing research on fashion. Or you are doing research on the differences between Costenas and Paisas... be it looks, attitude... anything you want. The thought that you compared them to a Paisa will spark up a conversation. You could even go as far as telling them you were just out on an afternoon walk and you thought you'd go look for a date for Friday night. Or make a joke.. make them laugh. Say any of these things. Do it for an hour and watch how many conversations you spark up. Watch how many phone numbers you get from absolute stunners. After that, your fear that there isn't enough time for a 56 yr old gringo to get into a relationship with an 18yr, 95 pound stunner, that makes you want to eat those jeans off her sexy body will absolutely go away. And... did you get those numbers because you are rich or because you spent a lot of money on them? Nope... I told you spend 1000 pesos on an orange juice and 500 pesos on a bag of deditos. If it fails... well... it won't. You will get some rejections and you will have some people look at you like you are a freak (probably moreso if they are in a group), but it will work. Ah... and don't back off of the group 3-4 hot chicas walking down the street due to what I just said about this freak aspect. Little may you know, but Colombianas love to be flattered and be told compliments. You'll get the rejections but you'll also probably be in the sack pretty soon. now, what do you do on the first date? I wouldn't try to get in the sack with them. Have fun, dance your ass off. Make her have the time of her life. Tell her you had the best night of your life at the end of the evening tell her you want to see her again. Invite her over on a weekday during lunch. If she comes... now you are in. If you have quite a few of these where you take them out, have the time of your lives and then they don;t show up for the lunch date... well then you need to look to the P4P market. I say this because 3 or 4 Colombianas that are shown a great time by their dream come true, which is give them a shot at getting out of the broken family web should be fighting over you... not canceling a lunch date. That's the reality. Maybe 3-4 isnt a large enough sample. Over time you will know if it's just you or not. But I will tell you that in my opinion a 56 yr old gringo has a much easier shot at getting an 18 yr old Colombiana girlfriend than an 18-24 yr old gringo. Why? Once again.. security. They think younger lads just want to get into their pants and really have nothing to offer them. They want a love and a potential family.... and economic security. Not Donald Trump.. many would be satisfied just to not have to struggle on a daily basis. They believe 100% in their head that a 56 yr old gringo can provide them this, regardless of whether you really can or can't. Ah.. and forget about the nude photos of non-pros on this trip. Do you want to develop a list of contacts for future trips or even a potential long-term girlfriend? All the nude photo question in the first few dates will do is put the thought in their mind that you are up to soemthing.

Hahaha! I try to have not more than one solid girlfriend in each city, two at most. I hate drama, and hurting anyone. Keeping them in different cities makes things much easier :)
