Are you sure the online thing isn't just one or two great experiences coloring your view? In several mongering scenes (like Singapore or KL back in the day) I had some initial luck, which fizzled out quickly.

It is a lot more entertaining (for me) to search for girls in brick & mortar establishments than on the internet in my hotel room. In fact, the only time I did a call girl prior to Covid was on a rainy, torrential downpour night in MNL when I just did not feel like going out after a flight from BKK. I certainly shop online, keep an annual membership going on a couple of online services. They particularly came in handy during the closures.
