The apartments in laguito are all close to ldv and playa Hollywood, contact Juan ventura or mery for apartments in that area. Search the forum for their contact info

Cartagena (especially laguito) looks like an armed camp. 5000 extra police / military for the americas conference. Supposedly all the US delegation (Obama's coming) staying at the Hilton. Chavez, etc. Also here. Plus mucho Colombians for Easter, word is Jesus is coming to the conference too.

Are people still having issues bringing in girls to the Mirador del Laguito? It seems like 1year ago it was a bit of an issue, but subsided quickly. I want to make sure that is not going to be an issue, as I plan to do a You Can-eque epic blowout in Cartagena.

Just heard that La Ley Seca is in force this weekend here in Cartagena due to the Summit of the Americas. Absolute bummer. A visit to Barranquilla is called for, I'd say.

Juan V told me they have a new administrator.

I bet every male US Secret Service Agent volunteered for this duty for the opportunity to meet some local Colombian women and culture. It's too bad that someone had to rat them out. I guess we won't be getting a "trip report" from any of them.

Secret Service Agents Sent Home from Summit for Alleged Misconduct.

(NewsCore). A number of US Secret Service agents tasked with protecting President Barack Obama during his trip to Colombia for the Summit of the Americas have been sent home amid allegations of misconduct, The Washington Post reported.

Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association president Jon Adler told the newspaper the accusations include at least one agent being involved with a prostitute in Cartagena, where the president arrived Friday.

Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan declined to confirm what the allegations involved, but said in a statement that "the Secret Service takes all allegations of misconduct seriously" and the incident was being investigated by the agency's Office of Professional Responsibility.

Donovan did not specify how many agents were involved, nor how many had been recalled from Colombia.

"These personnel changes will not affect the comprehensive security plan that has been prepared in advance of the President's trip," his statement said.

The Post said it was alerted to the misconduct by journalist Ronald Kessler, who has written a book on the Secret Service. Kessler said as many as 12 agents had been sent home.

Kessler said soliciting prostitutes is legal in Colombia, but was considered inappropriate by the Secret Service.

Obama flew into Colombia on Friday afternoon for the Americas summit, which is set to be attended by leaders from throughout the region.

I took my nephew to Cartagena in March 2011, he was just graduating college, blonde hair blue eyes he stuck out like a sore thumb. I thought I made myself perfectly clear about what the deal was about our upcoming trip because I convinced him to come with me to Cartagena instead of Cancun. Each one of my nephews I lectured they need to each come with me on one trip before they get married and see what the real world has instore for them rather than to get brainwashed into getting married and having a big fat wife a few years later. Anyway the whole way down I am telling him about the beach, clubs and such, we get there to the beach its packed full of chics, I introduce him to at least 10 different girls. I had no plans to hook him up with any at that time because I had to get him a phone yet before the store closed because we were going to Carnaval the next day, as we we leaving the beach he comes running up behind me like his sneakers were on fire calling my name, I turned around and said," What? ", he says I think we could have had some of those girls back in our apartment, I spit my beer all over him and said, " We could have had them all back in our apartment, " as I laughed until I almost passed out. He looked at me with the dumbest look on his face all confused, later I took him to the LDV and he finally understood what the score was. Unless you see it for yourself you can't comprehend how different it is from the USA. The agents were just enjoying themselves!

While I take advantage of opportunities just like any other red-bloodied male, I take a hard line on the Secret Service agents' Columbia caper. If you have prostitutes, you will have cocaine, etc. The agents went to Cartagena to protect the president and not party. End of story.
