Hey guys,

I am planning a trip to Colombia but after reading through the countless posts I need some guidance or advice. In your opinion what is the best city for mongering in Colombia? I know this is highly subjective but are there advantages / disadvantages to certain cities? Also which city would you consider the safest and most laid back in Colombia? Like I said it will be my first time and I have no idea where to start. I spent hours the other day on the Medellin section and holy shit there is a ton of good info on that city alone. I'll keep browsing but I know some of you hit multiple areas there so I thought I'd ask.

How old are you, do you speak spanish, are you traveling alone or in a group, how many of you? Do you plan on doing tourist stuff? Budget? Those kind of things.

I am in my mid 40's and I do speak enough Spanish to get by in any Latin country. I am traveling solo as of now but the max would be me and one other dude. That's kind of why I asked about the safest spots. I have hit Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua alone and had no issues. The only kind of touristy stuff I like to do is hit the local spots with nice scenery for pictures. I never take those day trips or excursions. As far as budget goes well it does not matter to me. I am not looking for cheap or expensive. I am looking for a safe and fun good time. In my opinion that is more important than price if you know what I mean.

And there is tons more fun to be had than the other places you have been to.

This includes places where almost everybody tells you not to drink the water, like Cartagena, Villavicencio, Ibagué and Pasto.

In Bogota Medellin Cali Pereira and Manizales, the water is EXCELLENT, among the best water you'll ever even get out of a tap.

In contrast, in the DR I had a salad once and I was trapped in the bathroom for three whole days.

Tap water is the least of your worries down here.

Good advice on clarifying the number of shots for TLN. When I was first new to the scene I met a beauty of a prepago. We had dinner before and agreed on TLN for a specified amount. I had cum twice and wanted to go again but she stopped me and said that would be extra she also quoted me a ridiculous price. I was so pissed that I told her to leave now. It was pouring rain and I let her find and pay her on cab ride back.

What I really don't understand is paying 200 or 300 K to a girl, and then think you also need to pay for her cab fare. I don't know about you other fellows, but I have worked at many different jobs in my life, and the boss never gave me cab fare.

Same with tips. Under 50 K for good service rates a tip by me. So in other words I consider a tip to a food service worker, but never to a owner.

I saw a post the other day where a guy paid I think it was 300 K plus a 80 K tip, and to round it out gave her cab fare. Why stop at that? Find out where she lives, and pay to have her house painted.

The cab fare I always agree upon before the service. Some girls ask some do not. Sometimes I give them the fare even if they don't ask because the service was excellent and merits repeat visit. I never give more than 15 k for cab ride each way. In dollars that is around $4. 6 in dollars each way. I work in nyc and I can't even buy lunch for less than $15 dollars.

Who goes to an interview and asked how much are you guys giving me in order to get back and forth from home to the job. You get there the best way you can. Those broads can walk for all I care. @ The girl did something (for him), which no other girl had done in the last X months.
@ The girl reminded him of his first High School girlfriend.
@ The girl was the BEST in bed.
@ The girl's hardship story was genuine and this was her first time in the business.
@ The guy is from Wall Street. Paying US $50 for Tip and Taxi does not merit a second thought.

You and I will never understand why people overpay. However, it will continue to happen until this Planet is in existence. Guaranteed.
