I'd say the money issue is the biggest change happening in Russia, especially in the major cities. StPb, Moscow, Novosibirsk, etc. Or, rather, its already happened. Cities that attract both a lot of Russian and Russian Federation (who don't need visas) and W European and American sex tourists / businessmen. The fact is there are a lot of Russian and Russian Federation men, especially in Moscow and StPb now, with a lot of disposable income and, obviously, command of the language. There are more and more of them in the clubs and bars, more and more of them using the websites, and they are, frankly, the preferred option for most of the girls these days. And, really, they have more money to throw around then most of us, and, as diplomatically as possible, they are also often younger than us. They meet the girls at expensive restaurants, treat them to expensive meals, take them back to 5 Star hotels, and have a plate stacked full of white powder in their hotel room (with the line upon entering the room "Want something from room service? Order anything you want."). The days of Russian girls spying a European or American guy in a club and concluding he's a fine catch are long gone.

Unless, unless, as has been pointed out, you can linger in these cities, find the out of the way clubs and such, places off the beaten path, or make an excursion into the provinces, where life is very very different for Russians. The gap between urban Russian and rural Russian is huge, which is why posters here constantly refer to trying to find a girl 'just off the bus' from the provinces.

Russian men have a certain way of treating their women, and no amount of money will ever change that. The interest of Russian women in Western men has always been about more than just money, or a Green Card. It's also about attitude and the way Western men treat women. And that part of the equation will never change, it will always be in our favor.

The Golden Age of mongering in Moscow is over, it's no longer a matter of shooting fish in a barrel. We have to dig a little deeper and work a little harder, but the rewards are there for those who are willing to make the effort.

I'm sitting in the Swiss Air lounge at DMO waiting for my flight to Zurich connecting home to the USA.

Strav is absolutely correct when he says that you have to "dig a little deeper and work a little harder" if you want something more than expensive P4P. I just completed 8 days in Samara and another 8 in Moscow after literally hundreds of hours of pre-trip contact with my girls. It isn't easy but it can be very rewarding.

Moscow was a bit of a bust this trip but there were some new openings and some good prospects for the future. Samara was certainly a different experience and opened up some new possibilities.

As has been emphasized again and again by our esteemed friends here, if you want to enter the parallel universe that is hiding in Russia, learn some Russian, learn some Russian, learn some Russian.

I am SURE I could have gotten away without paying anything but it would not be polite. While these girls were not hardened pros, I could tell that they expected SOMETHING for their trouble. Had they been strictly pros money would have had to have been on the table before a stitch of clothing came off. These girls were more interested in drinking my whisky and eating my food than talking about money. It was only the next morning when they were preparing to leave did they embarrassingly ask about "little presents". They were delighted when I gave them 5, 000 rubles each.

Oh, and "rather fetching" in this case means it's my sarcastic way of saying they were pretty hot. Not 9's or 10's but certainly 7 or 8.

I'm in my late 20's. I generally make the difference in club. And pulled out girl in most cities in the world. So I would like an advice. If I want to score a freebie. A girl who would be out for a one night stand. Which club do I go?

I don't necessarily want upscale stuff. A student is fine just a good looking Russian who speak English.

Razor[/QUOTE]Yes you need a visa and you must apply for the visa in your home country. You cannot apply for it at the airport or in another country you are visiting. You can apply for a visa extension while in Russia but not the original.

HOWEVER, there has been a proposed amendment before the State Duma which proposes that "in transit" travelers be permitted to remain in Moscow for up to 3 days WITHOUT a visa! Unfortunately Razor, this will be of no use to you this time. Which airport are you going through? DME, SVO, or VNK? DME allows you to wander the airport and does not restrict you to the transit area anymore. It also has a few decent restaurants and an Irish Pub on the ground level. The problem is going to be paying for anything unless you have Rubles. There SHOULD be a currency exchange you can have access to plus there are several duty free stores you can visit. They all will take credit cards. The other two I am not so familiar with the transit arrangements. As far as monger action goes, your options are "zilch" unless you can get lucky with a fellow traveler in the bathroom. Sorry dude.

BTW. Eddie has been gone from SVO for a while now. He has been spotted around town here and there but has made himself pretty scarce in someone's dacha.

It seems like I'll be spending the whole time in the airport area (BTW is the SVO) , it's just too much trouble to get in the city for such short time. I'll try to get back here next summer.
