The difference is stark, but the industry started off huge, there was plenty of inertia, and many punters were refusing to see the changes. Perhaps the economic crisis brewing in Laos (nearing a breakdown) would send a few working girls over the border, but that won't last long and is unlikely to have large effects down in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, there's no shortage of punters, so with the full reopening, it's only natural to expect prices to go up, and quality way down. At one point, I guess they'll stop coming.

I hear 1988 Olympic Games killed mongering for foreigners in Seoul and SARS in 2003 killed foreigner bars in Hong Kong. Thailand is here now, unfavorable background trends plus a major event. I still find Thailand an enjoyable place to visit. But I am not one of those guys that is trying to do five women a day at 500 Baht each. I enjoy the hunt and am willing to take my time looking for the gems that are still available. I would also add mainland China to the list of places that were once great mongering locations, but sadly are no more.

They may not return to Thailand.

For those of us who have been mongering for over 20 years, the changes are drastic. And yes, they are permanent, and with the exception of a few the Thais would prefer that the outward foreigner sex scene just disappear. And the sex scene for the local punter is already way more discreet than it used to be. 20 years ago when it was very acceptable for a group of men to leave the office, go to a soapy, have a meal, have girls, and then head home. This has not been socially acceptable for quite some time and was one of the things that participated the slow decline of the soapies. Local men are now using online as it is much more discreet. While foreigners are somewhat welcome, it will never be the domain of the tourist or short-term visitor, because it requires a lot of time and effort, and you really do need to have at least some skills in Thai language.

As Croc stated, the 1988 Olympics killed the foreign sex scene in Seoul, in fact all the foreign sex bars were shuttered December 31st 1987 as I understand it. SARS was also used to shut much of the foreign sex scene in Hong Kong. Online and the walk-ups still are going to this day. Covered is perhaps the nail in the coffin for the outward for and sex scene in Thailand. Yes, it will always somewhat exist, but the numbers and quality are not going to be there. And in my humble opinion, it will be dominated by Asian, not Western men. So glad I got to experience the end of the golden era. It was an amazing amount of fun. That being said I'm still having a marvelous time with online.

I was last there in January 2022, just before the world turned into shit.

I have two days in BKK before heading else where for some non mongering fun but will return to Thailand after ba week. Will I need to pay for a visa twice or is there a multi entry visa that would make sense for me.

For my first two days was going to stay near Sukhumvit 2 or 4 Looking at the Ibis Suk 4 or Icon on Soi 2. Would be open to any suggestions in this area. I care about decent clean room bathroom etc and not about hotel amenities. Was thinking about splurging on the Hilton but would rather save that money for naughty fun.

I will hit up Doki Doki again as that was great maybe Tulip and was going to rely on Smooci as I found the go go and bars were fun but mostly miss them hit with the ladies. Any recommendations from Smooci would be greatly appreciated.

I will have about 4 days in BKK upon my return and was thinking of hitting up Pattaya as I have never been there before. Is there anything to do during the day like rent jet skis or interesting sites to visit I do like to mixy trips with things other than mongering.

Interesting reading the last few posts, with a tinge of nostalgia. The late 1990's and up to 2016 were great, I loved the BJ bars, something so exciting knowing the smiling girls outside would fill their little mouths with cock and expertly have their tonsils massaged and anointed with tadpoles. I will miss the camaraderie of fellow men, smiling and chilled knowing their needs were easily met and of course the age old habit of guys bragging about their conquests. Manila is apparently a shit hole, and there is really no credible reason to go there except as a sex tourist. I don't know much about other places in PI, but I like good quality, clean, uncrowded surf beaches and don't want to get robbed or see too much abject poverty and blight. What about Indonesia? I've mongered the world, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Mexico, China, Thailand, Europe, Brazil and looking for any "green shoots".

Ironically, the only memorable time that I had in Bangkok was when I was with an Uzbek girl and her friend pre-covid. I had never had much fun with the Thai girls there.

One thing I have noticed about the admittedly changed demographics where Thais began to have fewer kids over the decades is it is a lot harder for 2 adult children to support mom, dad, grandma, spinster aunt and drunk uncle than for 5 adult children to do it. Not even if they are better educated and get a better job with higher wages today.

Therefore, you might not find as many desirable girls choosing a 7 night a week career as a gogo dancer but the number of mall workers, shop girls, office workers and university students interested and available for a bit of extra family support income for a discrete BBFS+CIP or BBBJ+CIM every few days seems to be growing. Hence, the online option.

What about Indonesia? ....[/QUOTE]PI has many great beach areas. Start researching the Visayas (Cebu) and Palawan as a start and go from there. Previously you would have to byo girl from Manila or Cebu City but online has changed all that and it's pretty rare not to be able to find someone locally with a little time on the usual websites.

Indonesia has a lot to offer but English drops off dramatically as you move away from Jakarta or Bali. It's one area where I would recommend finding Ms Right in Jakarta and offer her a few days holiday. 99% of girls with no job commitments will say yes and happily be your tour guide ++.

Broadly speaking: BKK, MNL and Jakarta have similar costs but provincial PI and Indo are much cheaper; PI is the easiest for an English only speaker even away from the cities; LOS and Indo win for food being a lot better than PI; PI then Indo then LOS for GFE; PI then daylight for BBFS options; looks are YMMV as PI and Indo are archipelagos and body types vary widely between different areas. Both MNL and Jakarta are chaotic with insane traffic but they have the widest selection of establishments and girls (many of whom are happy to accompany you for a few days) vs their provinces.

I have also been mongering in Colombia since 2013, taking about 3 trips per year.

I personally prefer Thailand over Colombia. The sessions are less transactional, very few people speak English in Colombia, and one has to always be on alert for safety reasons. Plus no comparison about the food. Thai cuisine is far superior. I speak decent Spanish.

However, I just came back from a trip to Thailand. The trip was brutal, 17 hours from SFO to Singapore, plus another 2 hours to get to Bangkok.
