Here's why:
But before it could close a security guy was there holding the door and threats were made to call the police. At this point the game was up and the girl was really scared. I had to let her go home.
I stayed there once awhile back and never had any problems-- in fact, they use to welcome us back when I had a gal with me. Dont know if this is an isolated incident or new policy at the hotel????

makhu,
if that girl was really scared about police she was most likely an ****.
think positive, the receptionist obviously didn't knew how to enforce the hotel policy in a friendly way but she protected you from making a mistake.

she wasn't so scared of the police, more scared of the scene that i was making. i can't blame her for not wanting to be trapped alone in the room with me after what she saw, hehe. and no, she wasn't ****.
i can understand the reasoning behind the id check. my problem was with the inconsistent application. the first 2 nights and part of the third the staff were all smiles when i was bringing a girl back. but for the second time on the last night all of a sudden it was no id, no girl to the room. also, they produced a sign from behind a potted plant stating about the id policy. i really don't think the woman clerk was doing it for my protection. she obviously seemed to have it in for mongers and she was using this opportunity to get at one.

It seems heres the answer and it was an isolated incident and not the hotel policy for not being GF. Perhaps the clerk was scorn before or jealous? At least now we can safely say the hotel is still GF (except for the clerk of course).

Mahku,
so just call yourself lucky that they didn't ask for IDs at the first two nights.
The receptionist may be a feminist or have a dislike in you or whatever, but maybe you also triggered it by your behaviour. It sounds like you had lost your temper and this is never a good way to get things done.
Always stay calm, be friendly and reasonable. Ask for the manager and tell her that you will complain about her behaviour. By getting loud and aggressive you will only loose face.
I brought a girl from BKK to Pattaya, she took me to the Honey Inn on Soi 11. It's definitely on the low end of what I would accept in accommodation, but we were only there for one night so I can live with that. 450 baht. Guess that's a low season price. At least the a/c and the shower were working, and the bed was clean though firmer than I like.

Well ok, for anyone who can stay calm, friendly and reasonable when you're drunk at 2:30 am and you want your pussy I will personally pin the zen master's lotus blossom to his lapel.
And I could call myself lucky or I could call myself unlucky that the girl that was asked happened to be the one that didn't have an ID. Glass half empty or half full I guess.
Please can anyone tell me if this is a lady friendly resort, do they mind you bringing a few girls back, as I will be staying there in a few weeks.
I always ask the hotel if it is OK to bring a lady to my room. Most tell me that it is OK to bring one lady, and she must be a Thai lady. I have brought more than one lady to my room and have never been charged extra for this. Just lucky I guess.
Always have the ladies leave thier ID with the hotel clerk. This is for your protection.

I'm planning on living in Pattaya or Jom Tein for 1 year. Can anyone reccomend an apartment. I don't need anything fancy. An efficiency w/air and a descent view. Not too far from the baht buses.
Thanx,
Skydog

Dusit Resort will charge a guest fee if you bring ladies back to the hotel. They charged me B800 the last time i did in Sept 05,it may cost more in 2006.They will also take your guests ID card,no card no entry, and return it when your guest leaves the hotel. They will also expect you and your guest to be discret,i have seen people refused entry for being drunk and loud.Hope this helps you.Enjoy your stay at the Dusit,it's a very nice hotel.
Inn of the Golden Crab on Soi 13 might be what you are looking for. I stayed there a year ago and loved it. Serviced apartment, AC, CTV, excellent Brit owner and cute Thai wife, full kitchen, living room. A one minute walk to beach road or Second road. Excellent quite location with night security guard, 5 min walk to Walking Street.
7-11 and netcafe both on 2nd road, 2 minutes at the most.
Girl Friendly, they just want you go be civil. I took 4 up one night, just didn't hoot and holler, not a problem.
They have many long term residents

I interested in trying a soapey with as many extras as can fit it, where is best place in Pattaya for this?
Also any other suggestions on good bars to visit would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks
Shamas,
Do you have any contact info for the Golden Crab? You say it's on Soi 13 - close to Sandy Spring or Haven hotels?

Sorry if this is a duplicate. Web page dropped.
