Heading to Medellin for the first time next weekend. In terms of safety precautions:

- I chose an Airbnb with 24/7 security in Poblado. I'm hoping the ID checks will encourage good behavior from the chicas. Not sure how common fake IDs are here.

2. Move on.

Not only does it simplify things, but it leaves open the possibility that the person will be selling something you want, at a price you're comfortable with.

I had a lot of Cubans on my FB friend list working that game, but now have most of them purged. Those though have typically been honest, with no pretense of meeting. Others will ask for a cash deposit to a Colombian bank account before meeting.
