Santo Domingo

Gazcue got his name because of Francisco Gazcue who established his home there in 1735. The zone was completely urbanized a hundred years ago. Streets full of trees, large houses with indoor and outdoor gardens were constructed in the area. Gazcue original residents were business owners and important politicians. At the end of the 80's, with the construction of new city areas as for example Naco, Piantini among others and the emigration to the United States Gazcue lost a significant percentage of its residents, increasing the conversion of some residences to other than its original use. Today, despite laws that prevent buildings over six floors, Gazcue has been losing its architectural grandeur due to the multiple constructions of the most varied styles that break the harmony it once had. There is a relatively large construction behind 305, anybody knows what is it? Gazcue residents are in fact against almost everything that was not part of original Gazcue: brothels, lottery and sport banks, crappy street vendors. I believe that major hotels are pushing against small hotels because they are taking clients away from them. They claim there are 20 Gazcue hotels that are brothels, so they are including all Gazcue hotels in this generalization.

I first visited Santo Domingo in 1998 and by that time there were only a couple of casas in the area: Lapsus, Elegant Center (now Sky High) and a couple of year later El Cisne. Yellow House opened for a couple of years almost in front of Jaguar, the Tabu which was destroyed last year and Monalisa. Actually we have Lapsus. 305, Sky High, Girls House, Satin Dolls, La Parada, the place next to La Cadena with the ugly girls, we had 56 Pasteus for a few months and Baby Dolls a little far away.

Gazcue was pictured on HBO Series Urban Sex as the main prostitution spot of the city so it is highly probable that residents are not happy with this designation of their living area. I suggest casas to offer Gazcue residents discounts and year passes as Disney offers to Florida residents to gain the goodwill of local residents. Just imagine this: 'Back to college promotion: visit 305 from 5:00 to 10:00 pm, pay for normal sex and get anal sex for free! And the first beer is on us! (valid for Gazcue residents only, guys with members 7 inches and larger are subject to additional charges per inch to cover for insurance costs)

It is located in the neighborhood called bella vista. Very nice pool, with a building near the pool with sauna, steam-room and gym. Very nice breakfast buffet in a building located near the pool, breakfast and free wifi was included in the room rate I paid.

Bella Vista shopping mall would be close. Also Plaza Acropolis with Docks bar, with a mall and hooters would be closer to the el embajador, than Gazcue. Streetwalkers used to be in front of el embajador and on avenida sarasota a few blocks from the el embajador. I saw street walkers on Ave jimenez moya (churchill) near the malecon, last time I was in santo domingo. Dreams House if it is still open would be closer to el embajador, as would Pink Pony and the penthouse.

You can use Kayak. Com to do a search for hotels in santo domingo. I have seen the El Embajador for around $90 per night using a coupon code with orbitz.

There has been a crackdown in Santo Domingo on prostitution. Some residents in Gazcue are very pissed at Mongering activities in Gazcue. The Jaguar Hotel has been called a brothel recently in the news (brothels are illegal in Dom Rep). The Jaguar hotel is in Gazcue. Maybe the citizens of Gazcue will get the government to shut down the hotel jaguar (sarcasm? You show up in Santo Domingo and the hotel you chose might be closed, go and have fun looking for a another hotel) (Sarcasm? You show up and the casas in gazcue might be shut down). But you know it all, so why ask questions on this thread?

I have been to both places just once. This is my observation from my limited time there.

Juan Dolio: There is a more well to do guest population. Many middle aged well off men who go there to golf and some European families. Very small and limited in venues, not a great place to monger. That being said there is some P4P to be had. Very safe and I never felt threatened in anyway. The beach was very nice with white sand and very nice water. I would return maybe with a chica for a relaxing get away from SD.

Boca Chica: Very heavy monger guest population. Very small amount of venues (one block) catering to mongers and chicas. P4P everywhere to the point of annoyance. Very easy to monger. I felt very uncomfortable many times, plenty of hustlers both male and female. I don't remember what the beach was like. I would not return.

We are currently checked into the Jaragua after Napaliotano (no ac, ants, dirty, etc.) and we are looking for higher quality chicas. For the past three days we frequented Lapsus (3000) , Gils House (3000) , Skyhigh (3000) , Satin Dolls (3000) and Copa (ask 3000-6000 but most take 2000). None are the quality us 30's yo are looking for.

In the lobby of the Jaragual there are amazing model looking, sexy, classy, insanely beautiful women that must be models based on their height. This is what we are looking for but unfortunately they are not working girls.

We have been asking around and have been told numerous times that Casa Teresa is a higher quality location. Any information if this is true or if there is a better place before we head out tonight.

-IS[/QUOTE]Foxys on the Malecon and near Foxys is the Baby Dolls. Casa Theresa at night with not much traffic about a 15 minute ride from Jaragua. Located a few blocks from Casa Theresa is casa azul. If you go to casa theresa you might as well stop at casa azul. I saw some amazon looking chicas in casa theresa a few times (tall chicas with big tits and big ass).

Casa de Modelos which is closer to the Hilton is another option. Club MC, Penthouse and Pink Pony are 20 minutes or more from the Jaragua (no traffic). Friday night, head over to avenida Venezuela.

Nice looking waitresses at le base bar on avenida espana and also eagle sports bar on ave san isidro (both of these bars are on the other side of the river).

For middle class and up, non-pro chicas, you could visit plaza uris (ave roberto pastoriza) , not too far away from GBP. Mint might get packed tonight late (hotel napolitano).

Regular tourism in Santo Domingo? What does Santo Domingo have to offer a family of four from Kansas (a husband, wife and two young children)? A regular tourist once they have visited the cathedral, museums in zona colonial, there is not much after that really worth returning to santo domingo for.

Nightlife? Most bars have to close early because of the curfew. No beach in Santo Domingo. Horrible traffic with vehicles that are not required to pass any emissions tests, so the air at times is heavily polluted with carcinogens and toxins. You think that is where a family with young children should be out, walking around with their young children? If you think Santo Domingo will become a top tourist destination you need a reality check. You should go and tell the waiters and waitresses and pro chicas in Santo Domingo that they don't need monger dollars, that some normal tourists will make them rich in the future and see what kind of response you get. By the way if a guy is a bargain basement monger who has a budget of 300 pesos ($2US) for food per day in SDQ and who never frequents bars and who refuses to pay more than 1000 ($27US) pesos for a pro, more than likely that type of monger would not be missed in Santo Domingo. Fortunately or Unfortunately there are mongers who go to santo domingo, who eat at restaurants and drink in bars and who may spend 2500 pesos ($67US) on a casa chica. If it is your opinion that the Dominican Republic does not NEED the money from those types mongers, then good for you. Maybe you can write a check to the DR government to help them pay off their loans and help makeup for the monger dollars you imply they don't NEED, since you are of the opinion that the Dominican government will manage perfectly fine without monger dollars.
