I made the mistake of exchanging US currency at the airport; it seems that US$ is much more readily accepted than the local riel.
The US dollar is the prefer currency in Cambo. Best thing is NOT to exchange anything. Just use the dollar and they will give you any change in local currency and after awhile you will accumulate more riels than you know what to do with. Don't forget to change it back to dollars before you leave as the reil is USELESS outside of Cambodia.

Top Town
Questions: is there also an area called "Top Town" that is cheaper?
There's a club, of sorts, called Top Town. My recollection from two years ago is that you basically you pick out a girl from a lineup and must sneak her into your hotel room (at least I had to at the quite-nice 4-star place I stayed at; a doorman saw us get into the hotel elevator together, rushed over and, from outside the elevator asked me "What room?" Of course I answered with a number on a completely different floor. Idiot.) The girl I picked from Top Town was memorable, very sweet. I don't believe they had facilities to do the deed onsite. Siem Reap also has a brothel called Soksan, where you get an hour with a girl chosen from a fishbowl. My trip there was one of poor service, girl complaining all the way. Anyhow, good luck!
TOP TOWN's location is some way out of the main tourist nightlife area and is madness for anyone to attempt to walk there at night from town centre. It has more Sino-Asian and local well-off Cambodian clientele and the girls there generally looks better and fairer as they know the clientele are willing to pay the prices they expect. It is also a KTV and a dance club for locals and you can see many local Cambodian youth drinking and partying there, something you could hardly find in the Walking Street. Top Town should be ideal for those who don; t mind paying USD30 to USD50 LT but service level may vary from girls to girls and clients to clients. SOKSAN girls generally looks inferior to Top Town but exploit its strategic centre of town location and tend to offer less for more but it does has an aquarium for Thailand-style convenience and accessibility.

Top Town Visit
After spending the day at the temples I went to dinner in the main street and had a few beers. Lots of offers from motorbike taxis to take me for a girl. Still had credit cards and such in my wallet so declined. Headed out again at 9. 30 pm with just cash notes. Not far from my hotel and still not in the main street a bike pulled up and asked if I wanted a girl for my room. This sounded good so asked for more details, He would take me across the main drag and out to where I could choose then arrange delivery. Only $70 on me so took a punt as he seemed quite a nice guy.
The last bit of the journey was quite scary as your suddenly off the main lighted 4 lane street and into a dim alley type affair. Music and neon lights as we pulled up. I could see lots of girls sitting waiting for customers. I was taken to another room to the side to discuss matters and handed a beer to drink. The taxi man explained that I wanted a girl in my room overnight. The mama-san told me that would be $150. I said this was out of the question and asked the driver if he was right to take me back. He said that was fine but he wanted $5 for his trouble of taking me there and back. The mama-san wanted to know how much money I would pay for a girl. I told her that I had $70 and needed $5 for the driver. She then told me she would ask if any of the girls would go with me at that price ($65)
Next thing in comes about 8 girls one of whom is much taller and is waving to me from the back with a smile. She is a good looking Cambodian girl with wavy slightly blonde hair. I looked at the others and she seemed to be close to the best and that waving to me I took as a good sign that she was keen to go. Girl selected I now faced the mama-san and driver alone again. I got my $5 and paid him and he explained that I would now go back to my hotel and the girl would be delivered soon after. I also had to pay the mama-san her money.
I was thinking this would be some scam where nothing happened and I am out $70 but also I was away from the city centre and not much hope of finding my way back so agreed and took a wait and see attitude. The driver and I left and I was soon back in my hotel waiting to see if anything would happen. I then got a call from reception that there was a young lady there and was it okay to send her to my room. I had booked as a single occupant and he also advised that there was a surcharge of $40 for the second guest. I am not sure if this was a scam or not but she was there and this was holding up my fun so I agreed and soon enough there was a knock on the door.
I was staying at Raffles and the room was quite spacious and a huge bed. Not much English was spoken but we did manage some communication about where I was from and so on before it was time for me to shower, everything valuable was locked away including wallet and camera so no problem there. She then showered and came over to the bed in a robe.
We got comfortable and things progressed quite well with me enjoying her very nice body (I would say 8/10) The sex was good and I finished with her riding away on top in a very wild fashion. After rest she began appying pressure down there and I rose to the occasion. This time was slower and very enjoyable. We both changed positions a few times and shared the work (hard work) once again she rode me so well that I was over the top. This time she said in English," I no finish yet, close but I no finish ".
After more rest and her watching some TV things started to heat up again, this was after 1 am now. This time I went down on her and that helped make sure she did finish. I took things very slow after she did and she was still for a long time as I just kept a little movement going. She then came back to life and really was moving in mish and finally rode me while I watched her bounce and squeeze me dry, oh so good.
We slept until 8 am and I had arranged for my temple guide to meet me at 8 am so more morning activities were out of the question. When I woke her she reached down and said "more boom boom" I let her play a while and enjoyed being close to that hot body before having to have a shower and finally ask her to get moving. She said she could have stayed till 10 am if I wanted her too. Very tempting.
Anyway that's it guys, took a punt and it paid off pretty well. As I went to meet my guide I saw her at the reception counter and if she got a cut of the extra guest fee then oh well. I gave her a $10 US tip for great service over many hours and lots of enthusiasm. I wandered the temples thinking of her hot little pussy most of the day.

Zone One Rocks
Guys, this place is cool. I came to Siem Reap unprepared for any action. It turned out great. Went to Zone One with local friends and had a ball of time. Picked up a girl for $80, exceptional quality. May be expensive for Siem Reap but she was good.
Next day went to Platinum or Premier (don't remember the name ). The dance floor was hot. Picked up a youngling. Expensive for $150 for LT. Enjoyed every min.
It was a surprise as I came prepared just to stick with Angor. Turned out this place is ripe for future venture. Now that I got some good local friends, it is a place to try again.

What a shame to see people paying so much for taxi girls in siem riep. Prices are a little higher there than PP but paying anything over $50 is madness.
Cut it out guys, you are spoiling the girls.
For a $100 one can get a model in phnom penh, literally a model.
Most khmers work for a hundred dollars a month-never forget that please.

Sr
I picked up a cute chick at Mikey's Bar oposite the end of Pub St for $30 ST. I didn't bargain all that hard as I didn't fancy any of the other girls at that time. Paid another $5 for a clean room at a hotel nearby. She was about a 7. No complaints from me!

Shark
In fact, at the Koh Kong border crossing with Thailand they won't even let you pay for your visa / tax / whatever it is in Cambodian riels or Thai bhat-it has to be dollars (I made a decent profit trading dollars to people stuck at the crossing for riel or euros.) (The also charge you more than the actual fee. If you argue with them you can get it knocked down but it makes them really unpleasant).
The only thing to remember with dollars is that you should do your best not to accept (or bring with you) anything the slightest bit torn, old, or written on. I had a $20 bill that some one drew a mustache on Andrew Jackson, and I tried using it everywhere I went for more than a week before I finally got some one to take it. Once I successfully bought some drinks with it, and when we were leaving the manager stopped us and demanded a different bill. It's a little crazy, but since every one seems to operate that way I can understand why no one would want to be stuck with it. The other thing is to avoid $50 and $100 bills, because no one ever wants to give change, and except in the most upscale places they'll be looked at with suspicion. This can be a problem, as some ATMs dispense $50's.

Dollars or baht?

About 1200 of them equivalent to about $35 or so. And refuse $US. I have always said that I had no baht and showed them my previous Cambodian visas in my passport. After much bartering I have always managed to get in by offering $5 extra I. E. $25US. In fact, at the end of my last barter session the little lady with 2 stripes on her shoulder even gave me 2 bananas. So, smile, refuse to pay in baht and offer a sdmall bribe if you don't want to be there all night.
Back to the original question. Have they actually changed to dollars or is it still baht?

Top Town report
First time in Cambo and my tuktuk driver recommended a visit to Top Town which he says has the best selection of girls.
I stayed at the Angkor what Guesthouse which had a huge sign on the wall that it does not tolerate prostitution in the premises. Not a problem as my driver told me that the action will happen elsewhere.
I was led to a room where you get to choose among 50+ girls. You have all the different types and selection was overwhelming. Picked a cute Cambo little spinner for $50USD ST + mandatory $3USD Angkor Beer. You pay the mamasan upfront then you leave for a nearby short time guesthouse. Girl leaves on a different moto probably to conceal prostitution activities. Inside the room, girl takes a shower and then you take your turn. She was not keen on showering together. Most of the reviews here about NO BJ rule are correct. Not even DFK is allowed. Just straight up sex but open to all positions. All mechanical, no GFE sex. After the action, girl even asks for a tip. Gave her some spare riel just to get it over. Would recommend Thailand or Philippines for mongering. Cambodia is more for temple tourist activities.

Agent Orange. Sorry to hear of your bad luck. I was more fortunate back in June. I found all but one girl throughout Cambodia was just fine with BBBJ and DFK and the usual price was around $33-35 including a barfine. I went to Mikey's Bar at the end of Pub St in SR which was also a fun place for a few games of pool. I agree that Thai and Phils are generally more suited to us naughty boys. More choice too. I would still go back to Cambodia any day though. Good vibes.

Brothel in Siem Reap
Stayed in Golden Orange Hotel for 3 nights. There is tuk tuk attached to the hotel.
On the first day, after I returned from a visit to the Angkor what, the guy at the Reception asked me whether I wanted a massage. $% for a body massage for one hour and $10 for an oil massage for one hour. When I frowned at him, he said there is a maasage parlour at the corner and it is one dollar cheaper.
I thought it would be safer to have it in the hotel. Within a few minutes a massage lady knocked at the door. She was accompanied by the Receptionist.
I asked the lady about the rates once again and took a two hour oil massage. I got completely naked but the lady showed sign of shyness. She covered the dick with a towel.
The massage was very nice and at the end I was expecting a happy ending. I told her so but she seemed not to understand or may be pretended so. I gave her only $15 and she was very happy.
It was unlike Phnom Penh where the massage came to my hotel for boom boom and gave a poor massage.

I didn't go out after the massage as I was quite tired and took rest.
The next morning the tuk tuk driver came to meet me while I was having breakfast. I told him I had only massage and no boom boom. He told me for boom boom I have to bring lady from some other place and we can go in the evening.
I spent the whole day in the Old Town and when I reached the hotel, the tuk tuk driver was waiting for me. I took a bath and kept and my valuables in the room and took only $60 with me.
We drove along the National Highway 6 towards the Airport. But just before the Raffles, I saw some ladies standing in the park. I guess they were working girls. Anyway, we drove for around ten minutes and turned left along a small lane where I saw an indication Earthwalkers Guest House. 200 to 300 metres in the lane, there is a large compound on the right. Saw some tuk tuk and few well built men. My tuk tuk driver spoke with them in khmer and a lady took me inside. Around 50 ladies were sitting / standing in the lobby.
I got inside a room and the mamasan asked me what I wanted. I told a lady for the night. She called few ladies but not to my taste. She asked about my choice and called few others. I chose one but she was not ready for LT. Another group of ladies came. Three were giving smiles and were requesting me to take them. Finally, I chose a slim lady with good sized boobs.
The mamasan asked to take a beer. I said no, paid her $60 and came out. The lady together with the mamsan also came out and spoke with my tuk tuk driver. We left for the hotel while the lady came on a motocycle tuk tuk.

Manfield,
Thanks for the report $60 LT is a lot. I guess SR is just too expensive with all the international tourists there.
Anyway, can you tell us in which PP hotel you stayed that organised the boom boom massage? I hope it's not Flamingo because I hate that place.
Cheers

Passport Question
Can I get a Cambodian visa from the Siem Reap airport upon arrival? How much is it in USD please? Are the lines efficient or not so? Thanks very much for any replies. Going in November.
Yes, you can. $20. 00. Line is efficient depending on the time of your arrival. It's a small airport.
