Spent some time in Sharks on Thursday a couple of weeks back.

There's a bunch of trains going to Darmstadt from the Frankfurt main station. A daily ticket will set you back about €15. Do note that the automated machines only give out change in coins so your €50 bills won't be accepted. Also note that while most trains will take less than 20 mins, the S3 stops on every bloody stop on the way and takes ages.

From the Darmstadt main station there's a bus line ('R') that goes right past the club, heading towards the Darmstadt Nord station, which is closer but with less frequent trains to Frankfurt. However, something must've gone wrong that day since the bus was nowhere to be found and once I was sure it wasn't coming, the next one showed a 45min wait. At this point I could've gotten a cab but I got it in my head that I could walk the distance and see Darmstadt as well. This was the continuing triumph of hope over experience since I've done this sort of thing repeatedly in the past and always end up regretting it. (I particularly remember trying to reach Oceano in Switzerland from the nearest train station only to get caught in a sudden downpour and be forced to take shelter at a petrol station a few years ago) This time was no exception since it's actually pretty far away and there's nothing interesting on the way.

Anyway, got to the club around 5ish, got a towel and was initially surprised by the much larger percentage of bath robes compared to Mainhattan. I'd go as far as to say there were more people with robes than towels. Another surprise was that smoking is allowed in both the club and the rooms.

Lots of girls were there, definitely more than 35 with around a dozen guys or so.

I think the size works against this club in this sort of situation. At first I thought it looked nice and spacious, definitely an improvement over the smallish Mainhattan. As I got more familiar with it though, as nicely decorated as it is (hiding the fact that it's essentially a converted warehouse pretty well) , the layout lets it down a bit. If the girls start getting bored, they group up at the bar stools. Most couches in the house are pretty much out in the boonies in relation to the bar given the way they are laid out and facing. So once the girls stop walking around, unless you specifically want to get a girl to a room (which would allow you to walk around the bar, choose initially and conduct your interview over a drink) , you essentially take yourself out of view by hitting a couch until you recover, further underlining the feeling of "there are no customers, today is a lost day". Basically what I'm saying is that it's much easier to keep the upbeat "we're all hanging out, having fun" sentiment going in a smaller space on slow days. Shocking, I know.

Anyway, once I knew I'd probably recovered from Nancy I realised I wasn't really feeling like another. Had dinner (steak and gnocchi, pretty good) and caught a cab around 8:30 back to the station for under a tenner. I kinda sorta regret not taking Nadia or Ingrid for a spin as they were both stunners, but their bored mood wasn't a good omen.

Then only 10 mins walk to Sharks. These depart Frankfurt platform 12 at 11:25AM. 13:25, 15:25, 17:25, 19:25, 21:25 (every 2 hours). At other times will be forced to go to Darmstadt and connect to a bus or train coming back to Darmstadt Nord. Use DB Navigator App to check details. The return to Frankfurt from Darmstadt Nord has less relevant options, times available: 16:12, 18:12, 20:12, 22:12 (no more after that. 2 hourly). That's it so not much use if want to stay late, in which case catch a taxi to Darmstadt first (or walk or bus if have plenty of time). Sometimes (not so late) there is a local train from Darmstadt Nord to Darmstadt, and change there.

The late train from Darmstadt to Frankfurt is at 0:30 (fast) or slow S3 at 0:35. After that next is 4:35AM S3. So if wanting to stay late, get a taxi to Darmstadt at about 4:00AM.

Sharks is a fair distance from Frankfurt so a Taxi all the way is rather too expensive.

However I have not yet tried the stunning Ingrid so cannot tell if she can be good yet.
