When you go to their website, it just fails when I enter my contact info and input the coded image. I can see missing it once or twice, but five times in a row? Seems too hard to get a rate and actually reserve a room.

Knowing what you know, if you were a rookie (un novato) travelling for the first time, what hotel would you stay at keeping in mind I prefer one that is very chica friendly. I hope I'm using this term right, since I'm new to this, but I want to do a lot of "mongering".

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

It won't cost you any more money and might even save you a few bucks and a lot of aggravation. I have taken clients to Jaco, they get to the Cocal and other establishments, only to find out they do not have a reservation. Happened just the other day. I have direct contact, email and cell phone numbers of my partner companies. I can even get the rooms cheaper than you can get them. If it was me and I was traveling alone, I would still book the Cocal. 2nd choice would be the Poseidon. If I was with 2 or more guys, I would book a luxury condo at the Monaco Jaco or Vista Mar. It's bigger, nicer and cheaper per person than the Cocal. If money was not an object, I would stay at Croc's Casino Resort. Have fun on your trip.

The Taco bar for the best fish Tacos. Tsunami Sushi for the best sushi in Costa Rica. For excellent fall off the bone ribs, give Kokomo's a try. For the freshest seafood, the soda at Cope Tarcoles on your way down to Jaco. I often treat my clients to a $11 Lobster lunch.

I'm thinking of going to Jaco for labor day. Does anyone have a paid subscription to Costa Rica Ticas? Is it worth it? I'd like to see more photos of what I'd be getting myself into in Jaco (as far as Ticas goes) and there just isn't a lot on here, especially for photos of girls.

There are not many if any pictures of Jaco girls on * There is information that is interesting but you can go there and meet one or two guys and find out all you need to know about Jaco. It is small and has few secrets. There is no daytime action and no massage places. If you surf or fish it is great. Really, go to Medellin where the girls are much prettier and much much much cheaper. I haven't visited both-I lived in both.

Jaco is still off the chain on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Can't tell you if CRT is worth it t you just for the photo's. Have fun in Jaco. Everyone else does.

I haven't visited both-I lived in both.[/QUOTE]I went to Medellin and stayed at the Mansion, AKA Casa Blanca mid summer 5 years ago and it was SOOOOO good that it makes me 2nd guess Jaco and Costa Rica and I'm worries I'll be disappointed by the Ticas in terms of looks and service. I was with Geraldine back in the day and that was the wildest PSE ever, and completely authentic, that girl is insane. I'd definitely go straight back there except I do love to surf and I'm landlocked.

The girls in Costa Rica can sometimes (no often) be arrogant. The girls in Colombia can be oh so very sweet. I am not kidding. The girls in the Medellin casas will have you believing you are with a girlfriend and not with someone trying to gouge money from you. And then get their private numbers and be really nice to them (as in gentleman) and they will really be sweet to you. There isn't the slightest comparison. And then in Colombia you can jump into a cab for next to nothing. Try a cab in San Jose and you will not feel like you are in Latin America.

(Remember-the dollar has rallied in the past 2 years. The Colombian Peso went from 1750 to 2650 to the dollar. The CR Colon has done almost nothing!(CR is awash in drug dollars. Too many dollars and the conversion just doesn't budge).

Man do I miss Medellin.

I already have reduced expectations for Costa Rica, but how do they compare in looks and can I get closer to a Paisa experience if I'm willing to pay for it?

Well, I lived in both San José and Medellín and I prefer San José. It is definitely more expensive, though. I like the food, the weather, and the people better in San José, and there is less silicone. The weather is good in Medellín, don't get me wrong, but I like a drier climate. I find the ticas more honest and less complicated than the paisas. Medellín is also much more dangerous.
