I said it before and I'll say it AGAIN (for those who either ignore the obvious or refuse to SEE IT) - the girls in the trade are there for ONE THING - the money. No matter what reason family support being the usual one (like the Thai "joke" about the man plows fields but the only field the girl plows is the one between her legs).
I never quite get the point when someone points out that pros are doing it for the money. Of course they are. Isn't anyone doing any job for pay doing it for the money. That is why we work isn't it? Money is just energy in a particular form we have all decided is convenient for barter. If you have a lot in the bank it just menas that you have a lot of that particular form of energy in reserve and can, if you wish, trade it for another form of much prized energy-divine feminine energy. More commonly known as pussy.
My point is that it is all illusion (not just the sex trade) and one needs only decide how much of the illusion one wants to see. I personally would not go to a movie and then spend the whole time complaining that Indiana Jones is actually a 50 something actor and his daring stunts are actually being performed by 20 something professional stunt men. I enjoy the movie for which I have paid good money. If Indiana falls in love, loses the girl then recues her from the Nazis and saves the world from Satan-I am happy for him and for myself to the extent that I identify with the hero. Then I leave the theater feeling satisfied for a couple of hours.
So let's be realistic
Please-if I wanted realism I would walk in front of a bus. And even then I suspect I would just find another level of illusion. It is a fun house, a house of mirrors in which we live. Find a reflection that is prettier than you are and enjoy.
I think this says more about Amjeck than it does about working girls in Thailand. Let's refer to this as The Amjeck Doctrine.
I like your post, and your coined term "amjeck doctrine" is funny( I didn't include all of the post in the quotes, however)
My views say a lot about the the working girls not just about me. They may be radical and sometimes difficult to accept but I've been mongering in Thailand for years. How long have you?
I always try to beat the point in hard so that fellow mongers don't stray into the "Thai void/scam/trap" that I've seen so many people fall into.
Yes, you can have a lot of fun and have emotional exchanges with p4p girls, and many people do. I always advise to stay emotionally detached (love and deep feelings - not fun and excitment) and to treat it as a business transaction, because in the end that is how the girls view it (This isn't the Philippines). Consider it like a mental condom.
What you do and how you treat the girls is entirely up to you. But please when/if you start "losing" don't come running to the board crying to us. I think you've done that once already, Kumbu :)
Guys,
What is the best and most GF 5* Hotel in Pattaya? How far are the 5* resorts from night action? Is there a transport problem, especially at night?
Many 4* and 5* hotels are not girl/guest friendly, even in Pattaya. Usually, they will charge a hefty joiner fee (typically amounting 500-1000 baht and sometimes more in the most luxurious places) for any guest that was not previously registered.
The following nice hotels and resorts were not charging any joiner fee the last time I've checked it (but it's better to send them an email and ask them the question to be sure before booking your room):
- Pattaya Marriot Resort & Spa: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/pyxmc-pattaya-marriott-resort-and-spa/
- Tim Boutique Hotel: http://www.timboutiquehotel.com/
- Mantra Pura Resort: http://www.lkpattaya.com/index1.php?hotel=MantraPuraResort
- Sugar Hut: http://www.sugar-hut.com/
- Rabbit Resort: http://www.rabbitresort.com/
Most of the nicest resorts are not very near the action -- I would say about 10-15 minutes from the center of Pattaya city on average by road -- but transportation is usually not an issue even at night. Many luxury resorts have their own shuttle/transportation service (but it's often not free of charge).
But it's also relatively easy to find a regular songthaew that you may use as a "private taxi" for a specific route. You will have to pay more than for a regular ride then (often more than 100 baht each time then) especially since your resort would be located a bit away from the city center.
If you choose to stay in a remote resort, you should keep with you their business card / location map (preferably with instructions or names written in Thai) or at least the phone number of the resort when you go in town, for showing it to the "taxi" drivers when you want to come back to your room.
A few days ago I was lying flat on my back while 2 young ladies were probing my mouth with their fingers and touching my face all over for at least half an hour. They did it purely for the MONEY.
It was a female dentist and her assistant. They were cleaning my teeth. Of course, since they were not providing me with sex, I'm sure that Amjeck would probably not look down his nose at them, (one never knows, however; he might be disgusted with ALL women), but aside from the sex, I can't discern any difference between those ladies and the ones I invite to my room to take care of Daddy.
You obviously don't know much about Thai culture.
You obviously don't know much about Thai culture.
You're right about that.
I assume you refer to the fact that in Thai culture most Thai's look down their noses at hookers. That's no surprize to me. Most Americans are the same, and so are most of the rest in the world. The mainstream culture despises hookers.
I believe unfairly so. All the hookers I know seem to have the same faults, and in the same quantity as other people.
Those who have become hardened IMHO have become that way as a mental defense against punters with shitty attitudes about them and their profession.

Hookers are less ostracized in Thailand than in most Western countries. A young woman would be ashamed if she was not able to help (financially) her parents and other members of her family. It does not matter much what she does and from where she gets her money as long as her relatives live a decent enough life thanks to her.
At least in the lesser privileged parts of the Thai society, the more money you have, the more respect you get. Of course, it's better if you have a regular (not P4P related) job, but you can be certain that a successful hooker who takes good care of her parents is more respected than a poor farm girl who cannot help financially her relatives much.
By the way, you've certainly noticed that in the Land of Smiles, people with a fair complexion are better considered than those whose skin is darker. It's not only for aesthetic reasons, but as it was the case in Europe in the past (not anymore nowadays), because the color of your skin is also a (relatively reliable) hint about your social status: if you are working every day under the hard sun (in a rice field, for instance), your skin will be dark and people may assume that you are poor. Most Thai girls want to have a whiter skin (hence the commercial success of whitening creams in this country), not only because they believe that they would be more beautiful, but also because people would pay them more respect as they won't immediately assume that a girl with a fair complexion is coming from a poor family of peasants.

He does know a lot about the Thai culture that is why everytime I see him he has the look as if the cat just ate twitty bird. Always happy as if there isn't a worry in the world! I think the reason why he looks so happy and content for a Expat living in Pattaya is that he understands the Thai culture very well and makes sure he keeps a safe distant away.
Many have spoken of such a Farang walking or riding his motorbike down Jomtien looking always fresh and happy looking. Many refer to him as the " White Monk of Jomtien " Living high atop his Condo with a string of birds coming and going to visit him in his Temple.
I like the disco scene. I'm with you though. No need to stay there all night. I like to get there early, find something nice, and get the hell out of there. Especially being a Cheap Charlie. I would rather leave with her about 1230 and have a nice long night for my 1000 baht than stay in a disco until 4am buying all kinds of drinks and still have to pay the same 1000 baht for a short night that I am too tired to enjoy.
Well said, Grasshoppa!
Six weeks and counting down to my first Pattaya adventure!!

I like the discussion about reality and add the following:
Judgements like bad or good have nothing to do with reality. They are based on morals and rules which are created by religions, societies, governments, economic systems etc. When I see sombody driving his car on the right sight of the street (reality) this is correct in the USA but not in the LOS. When a woman walks naked through a village (reality) this is "bad" in our world but in a little jungle society this might be standard. There is a big variety of reasons for creating morals and rules.
The reality we are discussing is that we mongerers are in Pattaya and give money to a girl for having sex (might have many reasons) and the girl is in pattaya rendering sex services to us for money (might have many reasons). In reality we are on the same level, part of the same deal. If not, the deal is not possible. When sombody in this situation has to see himself superior to the other, this exactly defines himself (his morals, rules etc.) and says nothing, realy nothing, about the reality or about the other person.
Another question is whether we have a "good" or "bad" deal. Maybe the girl is in general a bad provider (can have many reasons) or the monger is not able to select a girl who really suits his expectations (can have many reasons). IMHO the best deals occur when they are based on pure reality. No lies about myself and no lies about the girl.
One further thing which complicates our deal is, that we mongerers not decide ourselves that we now need sex. Something in our body gives us the order and we are unhappy when we cannot satisfy the upcoming need. This influences our behavier and the way we wish to see our sex deal a lot. I am not twenty any more, let's say I am fifty up and I have periods when I need more sex and periods where I do not need it so much. I could not say that latter are less satisfying...
There would be a lot of other interesting points (what about needs, feelings, wishes, expectations etc.?) which had to be considered but ok, ok, I stop. I just wanted to say: Reality is neutral and it makes us not happier when we make bad what we buy.
Last I post a pic of a girl I met in Phuket. She had a business practice I would call "taking care of". I was 7 days with her and she showed me the restaurants, (gogo)bars and discos I like. When she saw that I like thai food she invited me when she cooked for her girl friends. I liked to see the whole island and she showed me every interesting point etc. and last but not least she provided the sex I like. Not a 10 (looks) but same level me (considering where she was born and which chances she had inher live may be she made it better than me). I paid her 2'000 per day. Some girls only know the way from there rooms to the bar and back.

Why would you say he knows a lot about Thai culture, yet below in his post he says he doesn't? Not sure what you're point is.
Anyhow, I don't think we should clog this "Pattaya" section full of cultural talk.

THIS is a representation of reality. Too many wearing rose coloured glasses here.
Please-if I wanted realism I would walk in front of a bus. And even then I suspect I would just find another level of illusion.
Hah! This is one for the ages! It gets my vote for quote of the year.
I always try to beat the point in hard so that fellow mongers don't stray into the "Thai void/scam/trap" that I've seen so many people fall into.
I actually get this from your posts. You'll notice that I have never once suggested you stop with the hard rhetoric. I think it is incorrect, and have tried to explain why, but I still think your view serves an important purpose on this board. Your posts, I think, are intended to help other mongers, and that should be applauded. No matter how rough you might seem, I think you do communicate from the heart. You softie, Amjeck!
But please when/if you start "losing" don't come running to the board crying to us. I think you've done that once already, Kumbu
I would say that I never lose. Nor do I win. I only experience. And what some might see as running to the board crying, I prefer to interpret as reporting my experiences. I'm not sure which post you interpret as me crying to the board - if you choose, they could all be described as a bit cry-babyish. I prefer to think of them as honest (I would say that, though, wouldn't I?). But you'll notice that along with the one post you interpret as me crying, I also reported on many, many other things which might be interpreted as me shouting from the top of the mountain like I am the hero of a Steven Spielberg movie. So unlike some members, I report the things that boost my ego and those that might damage my ego. Why worry about your ego on an anonymous board like this?
I think I shall continue to do that (report positives and negatives), in the hope that others will see what I experience and what the ultimate consequences of that are. You try to help fellow mongers by banging the Amjeck Doctrine into their heads (or any other doctrine, for that matter), and I will try to help fellow mongers (and myself, to be honest) by reporting on my experiences. That seems like an amicable compromise.
Now, if I could only find a way to get Little Kumbu back into the clutches of a Thai sweetie...

Amjeck,
I think its a little late to talk about clogging up this thread... He is just playing with words..and with you. The point is he knows enough of about Thai culture that he personally doesn't get too deeply involve that it ruins his paradise! Some people only have a one track mine and going down that track works for him.
