Ground Zero.... Peoples Park!!
Guys,
Here are three photos of Andrea, 20, a student in Davao City. last boyfriend was Japanese. Recognize where she is in the third photo? Inside the convenience store at Ground Zero. This location is now known by guys in more than twenty countires on four continents. Andrea is one of hundreds of beautiful, young women there nightly between 5:00PM and 10:30PM.
Dragon Slayer
I have parked myself up at this convience store "24 hour Stop Shop" on the corner of Ilustre and J Camus Streets three times this last week, and regarded as the mecca for Filipina pick-up. I was a little disappointed. Last night for instance I was there between 6. 30pm and 8pm, first outside having a beer and some rotisserie honeyed chicken (very nice). The seats were occupied by males 4:1 including police and taxi drivers. There were also roving beggars and kids pestering you with trying to sell this and that. [And after 11 pm it gets worse with the local riff raff and street urchins. ]
I was with a partner and we moved inside to the seats in the wi fi zone of this convenience store. Sure, there was a table of nurse trainees engrossed in a lap top and another couple of students studying, but this was fairly typical of most eateries anywhere. But what was of real interest to me was the Peoples Park across the road. I watched for half an hour the gated entrance to this park and large numbers were entering (and were being searched), with females outnunbering males at least 3:2. We entered at 8pm and wandered around. People were relaxed, enjoying themselves, wandering, chatting, playing, resting. Plenty of young ones, students, nurse trainees; and a number of I suspect young unmarried mothers playing with their children in the playground area. Although I was with a partner it was no trouble to have a chat, and offer to take a group photo, etc. It's a nice relaxing situation only interupted near the 10 o'clock closing with everyone coming to attention for the piped national anthem.
If there is a Ground Zero in Davao for me it is the Peoples Park, but rather I think opportunities exist wherever you go in Davao, and in the Philippines, the Land of Lovers!
