General Information

I put this information here as I can't find a better place, bantayan it's a small island north of Cebu.

Very quiet and peaceful, a nice beach near the harbour in Sta Fe town, I preferred the beach on the right side of the pier (Beach club, Beach Placid hotels) , I preferred the second.

There's only one place "Zanzibar" on the road from St. Fe to Beach Placid, bad music, karaoke. 4-6 girls, but apparently only one can go out with you (not bad the body, but not tried) the other are there just to talk and make you order drinks.

Other bars in St Fe have nice girls, but they are regular and working, so you need to spend time in the island to go together when they finish working, not my option unfortunately.

So I suggest you to bring a girl from Cebu and spend you heney moon together hehehe.

To reach Bantayan take a taxi from your hotel to the north bus terminal, from there take Ceres aircon bus, better to arrive at the bus station within 9 am.

The bus ride trough a nice landscape in the countryside and on some hills before reaching the pier (San remigio town) , it's about 3h. Bus ride.

From the pier a ferry in 1 h. Take you to St. Fe, one of the main towns in Bantayan, many hotes are available, just jump on a tricycle and explore before choosing or go direct if you know it.

I rented a scooter for 300 / day after bargain, they start at 400 (some 450 / day for one day)

There are not excellent restaurants, but Cou Cou and D'jungle are not bad, I also loved street food, very tasty and never had problems.

There are a few more places where girls are available commercially. Some are rather cleverly disguised. On the road to Bantayan City there is a massage place that offers extras but yes definately bring your own girl. World class seafood abounds at every turn!

I am sure Cebu can be great for those invested in DIA contacts and so forth, but for a guy like me coming in without time for prework, and just going to gogo and the mall, I see no advantage over Manila. But of course I could be wrong. And versus Ermita this part of Cebu is a little ghetto. So many families sleeping on the sidewalk, guys selling puppies in the daytime crammed in boxes like sardines, little kids running the exchange places on Ramos, the touts and beggars are much more aggressive than the ones in MNL, and stick on you for blocks touching and grabbing your arms. Like hellhole Vila Mimosa in Rio, except there it is women grabbing your arms for a trick, whereas in Cebu is it dirty street guys trying to put hands all over you, for buying Viagra, or girls, or whatever. So maybe I was in the wrong part of Cebu, cause everyone else says how great it is compare with MNL. I'm not seeing it. The only good part about the streets in that area are that I was offered a BJ from an older, maybe 28 yrs, off work bar girl (street walking) for an up-to-you price of 120 php. I didn't take it because I had just done the Viking barfine. I was also a little apprehensive about the price, and would have checked to make sure it's not LB before agreeing. But I am 98% certain not LB. The price was just astoundingly low, so I smelt trouble of some kind. Like some shit might get started in the room and the price would go way up from 120. I am very cautious.

The girls here are very blunt. One girl referred to herself as a w-hore. Just a noob here. I just went to check it out and it was going badly from the start, so I made a decision to leave. So the value of my report here is showing people what NOT to do if you want to have an excellent time. I hope people can appreciate that. I learn more off the reports of what went wrong than what went right.

I didn't pick up street trash persay. I picked up from Viking and the mall. If there is any difference. No way, I don't mean to say that things are that bad. Or that it was necessarily more costly. Just not to my taste because I went with the expectation that the girls were less pro, and the hotels were cheaper for the same quality. The hotels around Robinson were not cheaper than Ermita hotels, the barfines cost that same as MBC pickups but there is the added risk of a runner, and I was getting a bad start as compared with MNL which was a very good start. But then I went back to Manila and got basically abducted and robbed 2 days later, so....it's just a shitty trip, but I've had some good service overall, and I've learned. Which is what I came here to do. Now the next time I can come back and do it right because I've got the basics and what not to do. It is not easy traveling alone into these places on the first time in country, when everyone else is winged up and not wanting to talk or share notes when you meet them. It is way different here because they are so used to foreigners, speak English, act mostly like Westerners, and know exactly what we are thinking. And everybody has their hand out and even bold enough to ask for tips. Only people who dont want tips are the 7-Eleven clerks. My experiences in Latin countries and other parts of Asia don't apply most of the time here, even though some of those places are just as poor as here.
