Preparing for a great field trip to CEBU using DIA and these tips
I stayed in Northwinds in Cebu on a walkin for 1, 200 pesos more or less and next to the top Phillipine cuisine restaurant in CEBU. The room was fabulous but no free breakfast. Girl friendly. The street has many Korean signs. http://www.cebunorthwinds.com/
Cebu is much better place generally plus for this hobby for me than Manila and Cagayan de Oro as far as the 3 cities I visited.
Manila is just one huge traffic jam, constant negotiations and "watch your back" atmosphere, and often big headache. The funny thing about the Cagayan dates were that the girls always invited their family members (brothers / sisters / mothers / cousins) to our date because either the girl was too shy or very young, so I asked them if I am getting married with them (JOKE) or if it was just Phillipine custom to invite family to the date. In Cebu I met a young girl who had strict parents for a quick lunch date with dessert, then my second date was the BOMB.
Airphilexpress and Cebupacific offer competitive rates to many local cities but no free lunch. Phillipine Airlines has great food but higher price. I could not compare with Davao, Buculan or General Santos (my future targets for DIA dates).
(Don't have to read if you know these facts already) Realize that when you make a DIA appointment with a Manila girl you have to tell her an hour earlier than the real meeting time because everyone in Manila is notoriously late (1 to 1. 5 hours) due to traffic or Phillipines ideas of time / plans. In Cebu one date was 30 minutes late and the other was pretty much on time (10 minutes) You have to be clear where you meet her because there are many wide malls in CEBU. Ayala has the most romantic setup but easy to get lost inside the complex so try to meet girls in the "Outside Starbucks" (NOT inside) or Jolibees. SM Cebu is also nice with movie theater but maybe more crowded.
In Manila, on average, my date was always 1. 2 hours late in our dates and I was usually 15-30 minutes late. I was unable to meet some DIA girls (they blamed me for the mixup) when I went one mall and they waited in another mall. The taxi drivers expect you to pay a tip if you can not give them exact change, if they (the drivers) get lost (surprised:?) , or if you have a girl with you. The DIA girls usually will ask you to pay their transportation costs in addition to dinner / date costs.
If you use a pay phone to a cell phone starting with 63- dial zero or 0 instead of 63. For the number of coins used and always asking for change in the phillippines it is better to just get a 1 week cell phone at the airport or just a text message sender / receiver device. Always explain what you are wearing and ask what they will wear so you don't have to look for them for 2 hours.
Girls love it when you are speaking their Tagalog language (Salamat = thank you) (Pasensya na = Sorry) (Ikaw ay matalino / maganda / mabait. You are smart / pretty / nice) When you are waiting for your extremely late date, make conversation with any hot people eating or just passing by like a lost tourist asking for directions and you can either stand-up your date (if they are sexy and hot enough) or just get their number and email to connnect again If you are contacting the DIA girls for dates start asking for their number and YM 2 weeks before you come because many of them "have to think about it" or do not check their internet frequently enough. I missed the chance to connect with many girls because they did not give me their number or YM before I visited. This is my 2 pesos.
Philippines to charge Australian with paedophilia
By Agence France-Presse, Updated: 7/21/2011.
Philippines police said Thursday they had arrested a 78-year-old Australian man and were preparing to charge him with sexually abusing local girls who lived at his home.
Police raided the man's home late Wednesday after an investigation prompted by suspicions he was abusing as many as seven girls staying with him, said Timmar Alam, a police official on the central island of Cebu.
"When we arrived at the house, we saw the four girls in the living room but another girl was in the kitchen and she ran off and escaped," he added.
The four girls, aged between 14 and 15, were turned over to state social workers and will undergo a medical examination to look for evidence of abuse, Alam said.
The man, who was detained at the local police station, had lived in the Cebu island for about 10 years but it was only a few months ago that rumours about him began circulating, the police chief said.
The suspect denied the accusations, said Alam.
"He said they (the girls) just went to his house and he befriended them and their parents. He said he helped them and paid for their education," he added.
Police acted after a tip-off that the children had started living with the Australian in June.
Police said they would file criminal charges against him on Friday, including for trafficking and child sex offences.
If convicted he could face 25 years to life in jail, said Alam.
An Australian embassy spokesman declined to comment saying it was up to Canberra to release a statement on the matter.
