First time trip to Bangkok + wherever x 3 wks coming up soon. I am in the process of reviewing the last 500 pages because why not? I really do find it fascinating, although the COVID period was a slog.

One thing I'm not clear about is spending time with the ladies for things other than sex.

TL; DR: Why do people do it? I'm not implying they shouldn't. I am curious why though.

For example, I saw one rare mention of going out to dinner with TF girls (as opposed to the very direct "Here for ST, what's your LINE?" approach). Basically going on a date. I got the impression it was to build some rapport which I guess makes the intimate time later more fulfilling? I am not totally sure. Down side being there aren't any guarantees I guess. Anyways, do any of you do this? If so can you expand on that a bit? What has been your experience? I assume you are still hoping for sex. How do you play your cards? I guess a part of me feels I'll be more satisfied forming some sort of connection, if ever so brief. But maybe that's naive.

Or "holiday girlfriends". I mean it's obviously going to end. So is it just a value issue? Less work finding women, less money, more efficient? Or is it the enjoyment of a young lady's company? I feel like it would be a slippery slope for me. It seems like I could fall for a young, attractive, sweet girl pretty easily spending a lot of quality time with her. Then what? It would suck to have to sober up to reality again as I know would be absolutely necessary. So if you do holiday girlfriends, what do you like and not like about it?

And as far as LT goes, why do people do it? Is it just for more sex, more shots, and more value? Or are there other intangibles? Enjoying time hanging out? Unless you speak Thai, I see no reason for anything beyond ST. Communication issues. Or lack thereof. Will be a bummer.

These days, I'm all about ST. My recommendation is if you gel with the girl and have an awesome time the first time around, then feel free to do LT. Otherwise, never do LT the first time you're with a girl.
