I suppose the word 'free' doesn't exist either?
Petemcc,
I just found out that I am definitely wrong with my comment about "discounts", we even offer discounts for ISG members.
But what does "free" mean :) ?

You and I did meet, just once, about two years ago, when a friend (another ISG regular) and I visited the Lodge for dinner. So no, I did not have you and Guido confused. If we didn't meet this time, it's only because I was out and about most of the time, and simply using the Lodge as a hotel room. Next time (I plan to return in July), I'll have to visit your restaurant and bar once again.
I did think twice about including the "ghost story" in my post, but decided that it might be worth something in entertainment value. Maybe I should clarify that I'm not at all *certain* I did see a ghost. In fact, I didn't really "see" anything. Once again, I simply "registered" that someone was standing there (if that makes any sense!), and then saw that she wasn't . . . It was, make no mistake, a very strange sensation, but it may simply prove that I'm crazy! (I know too well what some people think about me already.)
Sukhumvit Sam,
Yes, I remember that meeting. That's why I am surprised that you stayed here this time, you were quite reluctant regarding the Lodge and its prices during your first visit. Anyway - I appreciate you staying here, and appreciate your reports (all of them :) .
Ghost Story: First of all I think you have the right to write whatever you experienced here, even if it is a ghost story. Now - I don't believe in ghosts, no way. But I know - some people do. The majority of the Thai people do that anyway, and many Asians. May be I underestimate the impact of a rumour: There are ghosts at Livingstone's Lodge. But I am willing to take that risk. And - it certainly has some entertainment value for others.
Hope to see you again here soon.

Today is my first routine day after coming back so thinking of writing regarding my recent trip to Bangkok which unexpectedly lasted for nine days and eight nights at same place and same city.
I think I should start from the beginning of journey which was initiated from Lahore by Thai airlines A-300 air bus which I think is outdated and old plane and even in house movies were pathetic and quality of picture was totally blurred and I was wondering why a country which projects itself as tourist oriented country should allow such planes and that with such a quality of picture to fly as it creates really bad impression as when we see the progress in Bangkok otherwise it is in contrast quite appreciable.
My plane landed after a nonstop flight of around four hours in early morning hours of 6:00 am on 27th May at Swarnbhoomi air port which I experienced for first time since its inauguration and my first impression after seeing it was impressive as immigration services are fast and it is huge modern airport of this era and country like Thailand having this size of airport and quality is commendable though it is quite confusing when once u start looking for your luggage because lack of proper signs and difficulty in finding the specific belt for ur flight.
To avoid any hassle in finding a taxi I requested management of Livingstone’s to arrange for a meet and assist service at airport which they did despite I just asked them to provide about 8 hours before my arrival and chauffer driven BMW was there to pick me up with a person standing outside with my name written and I reached Livingstone’s at around 7:00 am and car stopped in front of two elephant tusks and I carried my luggage bag by towing it inside and was wondering why there is no concierge service and when I entered in the lobby of lodge the staff was sleeping on Sofa in front of reception desk and first impression I got scared that if I had made correct choice in choosing my hotel for stay or not . Any way I made the girl to wake up who was sleeping on sofa and completed the formalities of check in and was shown the room which was supposed to be changed after 12:00 pm as junior suite I requested was to be available after checkout time. I went down.
After keeping the suitcase for breakfast and the breakfast place seemed to be quite romantic along pool side as water was blue and clear and perfectly placed wooden tables and wooden log benches.
As my last 24 hrs were very hectic because of visa and travel hassles I had to undergo before my flight I slept only for an hour or two so was deadly tired and tried to sleep but as my room was to be changed after 12:00 pm so kept on waiting and finally when I was asked to move from 114 to 115 junior suite with double Jacuzzi. After shifting and re organizing my luggage now I tried to sleep but soon found out that this room was hotter compared to my previous room and I observed as air conditioner was installed away to the other corner from bed and room is bigger to I felt un comfortable because of humidity and heat so again went down and asked reception staff to move me back to 114. Reception staff was changed by this time and new shift with an Indian girl at reception desk who could speak better English she understood my problem so she directed the house keeping staff to move me back. After moving back now mentally I got relaxed as now I knew that I had to stay in this room so I slept for few hours now and by 3:00 pm I got up took shower and went down to eat some thing. While going to restaurant on my way I came across a man with spectacles and wearing long shorts and a t shirt and I thought he was also a guest staying. I went to reception girl again and asked for the owner or boss of lodge she pointed out to same man which I have mentioned earlier so I went to him and said hello and introduced myself and he immediately recognized by my handle travellar 22 and welcomed me and told me that he was busy in certain issues regarding change of pool table in sports bar and will meet me later.
I then went to pool side restaurant and ordered food and now started observing in detail regarding the atmosphere and happenings around. A guest was also there who was in his swim kit along with two girls and both girls were quite attractive and very friendly towards him. One of the girl went o change room and changed into red sexy bikini and also started swimming in pool but she never looked like a Thai girl which later proved to be correct as she was a Cuban girl and she comes to lodge occasionally to meet her friends who work in bar.
Second girl was Thai and she was wearing sea blue t shirt and white trouser and she really looked real good when she got busy in setting some religious acts as a statue of Buddha was also there and girls who start coming around 3:00pm first of all do pray in that corner and then get ready for work.
My food came in mean while and while I was eating food Giotto was busy himself along with some workers in setting up new pool table which later turned out to be smaller than ordered in sports bar as it looked as if he was trying to set things in hurry as bar was scheduled to be open at 3:00pm . After setting things up Giotto straight away came to my table and sat across me and after initial hello and hi I found out that he is a very well informed person regarding lodge whether he is around or not and has a proper system which keep him informed of every issue as he knew very much regarding my room issue which I have described above and told me that some guests like ac above bed and some like it away from bed any way I was not convinced as to me may be ac is of smaller capacity comparing to size of room.
Then he gave me detailed information of soi 33 and asked my preferences and likings and disliking during my stay and advised me to have a look around and then should also discuss with mamasen in evening and see what can be done.
I told him my issues that I am not looking for a ordinary sex partner and then change to the next one and so on but I am looking for a real classy sexy Thai girl which I usually see in TV ads or sometimes as air hostess while I travel in Thai airways.
Giotto understood my point of view and told me types of girls I can find in sports bar and other bars like The Office bar across the road and girls in Renoir and Monet bars in soi 33 and the we talked about Pegasus and Piano club or Spasso in Grand Erwin hotel and CM 2 etc.
In our discussion I came to understood that the type of girl I was looking may be difficult to find as such beautiful Thai girls either don’t work in bars and are not in sex business as they are usually financially well off as they get good jobs in hotels reception or in music bands or in airlines and for that I have to be real lucky to come across in areas where tourists look for.
Girls working in sex industry are usually from poor back ground and are normal in looks but some of them are sexy or have good body figure. According to my standards what I think in working places of all sorts girls range from say 4 to 7 or very rarely 8 and 9 to 10 sort of girl is quite impossible to find in such places or may one has to really work hard and roam a lot for finding such a exquisite beauty which for a tourist is really cumbersome and one who lives in Thailand can only do so.
There is always a discussion going on that where we can find stunners and beauty standards of Thai girls comparing them with Indians or Russians as generally we find that they are more beautiful than what we find in Thailand and to all this discussion my answer is that Thai girls who are really beautiful and real stunners there are no less than any beauty standard of world but cant be found in working areas as may be financially they are more sound and don’t need to work in sex industry comparing to Russian states girls as may be economically these girls are not stable so their standards is high comparing to Thais but on other hand attitude standards are quite worse to what we find usually in Russian states girls when we compare them with Thai girls.
I hope readers will bear my long reports as i just want to write them as the thoughts come in mind regarding my trip when i get free time so they will be bit long and may be some what wavered so pl forgive me but i will like to write very tiny details in reports to come so pl wait and bear.

I am glad you offer discounts, unfortunately I won't be elligible, however I can tell you what free is and how I am elligible.
Some time ago I told you that I was training to be a nurse, and I offered my services to you as a barman and girl checker. With my background, I could have performed tests on your girls to see if they were disease free. This, unfortunately for me would have involved close inspection and tasting of their genitilia, as well as swabs. Swabs are of course best taken high up, on the surface of a condom.
I offered my services at a fantastic price. I can't remember what it was, but someting like 50K Aus a year. You declined my generous offer.
Well Giotto, this is free. I will test your girls for you and not demand any payment. I will probably only require each girl for 30 minutes a day, say 5 girls a day, on a constant rotation. That shouldn't upset their work routines.
Giotto, this will be at great personal expense. I will be giving my services without charge, and possibly risking my health.
That is free. So will Livingstone's ever consider the concept of free-for me?

Giotto,
Thanks for understanding.
I'm a teacher, and must subsist on a teacher's wage. This puts me miles below many of your guests in terms of social class and spending ability, I suspect, though as a teacher in Korea I can command roughly three times what I'd make in Thailand (perhaps four?), and so can afford to "splash out" a bit when on holiday. (I could be a jerk and add that I work at one of the top three private secondary schools in South Korea: naw, that's too much pathetic boasting already!)
Perhaps the really great thing about the Lodge is that it DOES allow a middle-class tourist like me to live it up a bit, at least for a few nights or so, and to enjoy really world-class services and amenities without having to pay through-the-roof prices.
My overreaction, a couple of odd years ago, to your telling me that you dislike the "sex tourist" crowd frequenting the Nana Hotel and such places was . . . well, not quite nice, and was something which I attempted to remedy by staying at the Lodge and then delivering a deservedly glowing report of the place.
And believe me: I do understand about your having to charge prices (far from exorbitant!) which enable you to stay in business!
Hope to see you next time, at the Lodge!
You've TRULY got the competition beat; of that, there can be no mistake!

I was at the lodge in January. I had to leave early in the morning for the airport, so I forgot a bunch of gifts and personal items in the room. I was shocked since it took a lot of time to collect them.
A few emails later, the Gen Manager of the Lodge had found the items and ready to ship them back to me. What a relief. Not sure if that kind of service could be found at bigger hotels anywhere.
The rooms at the Lodge do have characters, decorated in African theme. Very unique. The room and the sheets are extremely clean. The pretty and smooth-skinned Thai girl, who was supposed to stay the whole night in the clean bed with me...well, she flew the coop after my first pop, leaving me with a serious hardon all night in the African room...
Good reasons to come to BKK and the Lodge again, hopefully with more time...
