Dear friends I ask you the last question then I will depart to Barranquilla.
What is the best road close the action? I like to look for a furnished flat there.
I like to meet many many girls in the night but during the day too.
I know there three good quarters in Barranquilla: el Prado, trading centre Buenavista and the carrera 53 numeber 70-54.
Can you give me some advice about the road close to action or a furnished flat?

Action meaning what? Bars where you find the pros? 1) you don't want to sleep close by to where most of them are and 2) If you are looking for a furnished apartment, I recommend looking for an apartment that you like irrespective of where the strip clubs are. I.e. if you like comfort, ac, etc you can pretty much write off looking for an apartment in El Murillo, which is where most of the cheap *****houses are.
I recommend going, pulling out the newspaper and spending a good 4-7 days looking for your ideal apartment... in the North (which is a 6k-7k pesos taxi ride to the *****houses).

For Action I mean a place where I can meet normal girls and prostitute girls in the bars. I don't like sophisticate girls but simple and nice girls. I like to meet girls in the night but during the day too. I know El Murillo and the center of town are good spots. Who told you el centro is a place to go? Forget el centro. El murillo is where most of the bars are. No need, nor do I recommend going to el Centro for anything.

I thought Murillo is in the center town. Where is it precisely? How far is it from the center and from zona rosa (north)?

Barranquilla is not like Cartagena where there are apartments for rent all over the place. I honestly think the odds of you finding an apartment to rent are very very very poor. In fact, you won't find an apartment to rent for 10 days. Hotels or apartahotels (which to me is the same as a hotel) are your only options. Murrillo is in the South, about 20-30 minutes by taxi away from where you want your hotel. You want your hotel to be in the North. Zona Rosa? Uhmmmm... what Zona Rosa? There are a few differrent areas of town that have brothels... those in a 200 meter radius in El Murrillo are my favorite... but it is not an area where you want to sleep or even just hang out. It's take a taxi there, get out of the taxi, and enter the brothel, and keep to yourself. You do not want to mess with guys here. The chicas are cheap and you will find a gem, but the guys that frequent these places are not those you want to become friends with. And when you are done, be very careful when you walk out the door. Get in a taxi, after talking to no one outside, and go back to the North.
My advice, for brothels.. Murrillo is your best bet. For nightlife with regular dates... there are some discos in el Murillo, but there are also a lot of clubs in the North. Most of the gals prefer the clubs in the North. And remember, don't go out at night to regular clubs with the expecation of finiding a regualr gal. It won't happen. Make your frieinds and find your dates in the daytime.

I speak fluent spanish and I am a 50 old european man. I am very goodlooking, romantic and very kind to everybody. I am happy when a girl with me is happy.
Before my departing to Barranquilla I have amassed 12-13 phone numbers of regular beautiful girls (by Internet) but I have spoken with them some time only. I have met all of them and they were very kind and nice with me and I with them. I have always paid they taxi to get their home but they come with me for drinking or eating only. I have spent much money for them because they always come with their sisters or friends. The second or third time I've met them I have always asked the to come to my hotel but every girl always refused that invitation. I read here beautiful reports on Barranquilla on regular girls. I have not had any stroke of luck with them. Perhaps my barranquilleras friends were too much beautiful girls than yours? ;)

Luckily I have known an interesting boy and he toke me to some casas (close to my hotel) and the Murillo bars. Murillo bars are wonderful. They are full of interesting and kind girls but they are a little bit cold for my taste. Even it is impossible to kiss them. In 14 days I have fucked prostitutes only.
The only positive aspect of the situation was the Monterrey hotel on the cra 44 with 74. They are is very kind and chica friendly.
This was my experience on Barranquilla.
I had a similar problem in BAQ but I did make friends.
BAQ is not the kind of place to drop in and hope to get laid in 10 days with a non-pro. You'd have to be there for an extended amount of time. Like a month or 2. Also its best to meet them in the day time not in clubs. I went to afew clubs and the women there were non responsive. I don't think I will return there because I didnt like the place and didn't like the look the of women. Buenavista mall had some of hotties though. Calle 79 and up were where the upper classes were.
Cali had more of the triguena look I liked more open to conversation. I didnt feel unsafe at all.

FoxesHunter -- I like your name! Like the two European "wild and crazy" guys in the old Saturday Night Live (US television show) that were always looking for foxes.
For what it's worth, I only had sex with prostitutes when I was in Barranquilla too, even though I spent most of my time with a couple of good girls that were drop dead beautiful. I never tried to get in their pants because I knew a long term relationship wasn't going to happen. I don't think either of the two would have slept with me if they thought it was going to be a one night stand, but both would have if they thought that there was decent potential for a long term relationship. Anyway, I'd rather pay a prostitute than play with the emotions of a good girl.
Based on my very limited experience with just two barranquilleras, I suspect many of them are more traditional than what you'd think from reading this board. You were approaching beautiful women over the internet, not so-so women you met in bars. Since you're 30+ years older than they are, they're probably not going to want to sleep with you out of pure animalistic lust. Out of 12 women, I suspect that some of them would have slept with you if either (1) there were some financial incentive, and she wasn't worried her friends and families would find out about you having sex with her or (2) if she thought sleeping with you might improve her chances of marrying you. With regard to "2", in my experience with Latin women, not necessarily Colombians, they think that if they're easy, you'll be less likely to want to have a long term relationship with them. Also, they want to know that you view them as more than just a potential sexual conquest. So it may take more than a couple of dates before they sleep with you.
I think most of what tiny12 says is true. I wouldn't want to give the good girls a bad impression either.
The girls in BAQ do seem conservative. Hell most good girls in Colombia are conservative and they wouldn't sleep with you purely because you are a gringo. some do but a good portion wouldn't. If you are a wealthy, charming and gentlemanly older man that lived in Colombia and has a good reputation I see you facing very little problems in dating women in Colombia. Even the ones from the better classes.
One thing mongers need to realise is that new travels fast in Colombia. So you don't want to shoot yourself in the foot by getting a bad reputation. If you are going to Colombia just to monger and hang out in the casa and fuck putas then you reputation goes down with you and your chances of meeting a woman from a good family or wealthy family further diminishes.
A buddy of mine named Charles lives in BAQ today.He recently purchased an ad in a magazine published by I love Latins([url]www.ilovelatins.com[/url]). He had several responses over the last few weeks. One in particular interested him. The gal says she comes form a wealthy family in Meddelin which may or may not be true because generally wealthy chicas don't do the agencies. Funny when the mag is a local Barranquilla publication. She recived it from a relative. Since she has been writing him she has recieved alot of criticism and told only 2 of ten marriages to Americans work. Her next letter stated she had recently heard of a gal in BAQ that married an american and suffered alot behind it. He responded and told her he was the one, but the story she got was bogus. We will see if she writes back. It surprised him to hear that his news had traveled so far and wide. But women love to gossip and the old saying goes "Gossip kills three; the one who speaks, the one who listens and the one who is spoken of".

The girls name was Janet and she is from Medellin. I don't think she lives in Medellin but she is definately from there and has family there. She was a classy lady at least for colombian standards. just how classy I am not sure but she was attractive. She has been to the US many times so nothing is new to her. Her dad is meant to be a doctor and her mom is a teacher so she isn't exactly poor. I was shocked when we figured out what happened and it seemed to devestate him. He is a good guy and dresses good but he fucked with the wrong woman. And that may have tainted his image in BAQ for a long time to come.
If you are an older gentleman the Key to meeting super fine women from good families isn't just approaching them on the streets but building a network and being introduced. its a slow courtship.
Sure you can go around and approach fairly decent girls if you like but if you want the hot hot ones like models your going to need to be introduced through mutal friends. Foxes, you mentined drinking and eating but not dancing. When you take her out drinking and dancing and there is chemistry, it should accelerate the process.
My experience says that if there are sisters or female friends present, they will inhibit your date and she'll probably try and play "good girl" while they are watching.
Meeting girls individually takes a lot of time. But of course it's absolutely necessary, so that you can find out which one(s) you have a good feeling with. Some guys try and make the process more efficient by flirting or talking sex with the girls during the internet/phone conversation. If she really doesn't participate or comes across shocked, remove her from the list without a meeting.
If you must cast the net wide and you want efficiency, you could even set up multiple dates in the same afternoon at the same mall. Just invite each one for a cafe latte at Juan Valdez or something, an icecream. Then it doesn't matter so much if they bring friends.
The marranera is a certain kind of girl that will have sex just with the promise of going to nice discotecas, fancy restaurants and shopping. These chicks give you a score much faster than the good girl. At first glance they would be an ideal match for a discreet foreign monger. But they come with their own set of issues and problems to be wary of.
