Well thankfully I'm only a 3. 5 hour plane ride away and have the ability to find "reasons" (aka excuses) to go to Manila.

I'm happily between 50.55, not overweight, not bald, but not Brad Pitt either, but have a lifelong love of Filipinas as an extra motivation. Somehow I just love meeting them, and scoring with them. I really think they enjoy the same as theres never any need to persuade.

I did not see any police traps going into LA Cafe or leaving either. They are probably keeping a low profile and doubt they will target tourist for a while. After the Mendoza hostage botch up, they will probably need to rebuild some tourist goodwill. So I am guessing any tourist are out of season for them.

Manila Bay Cafe or even HK Hostage 8 Cafe may be a more relevant name (geographically speaking) than LA Cafe, but the LA Cafe name is so ingrained in many taxi drivers, I think you will have to use LA Cafe for a long time as a destination instead of Manila Bay.

Taxi driver still thought it was closed. Recommended some club called Dynasty (probably getting some kickbacks). Told him I was not interested. Surprisingly quite a few nice ones at Amazonia.

Saw only 1 FL at Havana. She was past her "used by" date.

Manila Bay (LA Cafe) had about less than half the number of girls I normally find. Bands still playing upstairs as usual for 100p entry. There were less than half dozen FL upstairs. Only a couple in the pool room.

Got my take out from EDSA after recon at MBC (ex-LAC), Amazonia and Havana.

6400 comments in yahoo and counting...I don't think if the tourists were from UK, US or any other European country...we would have seen this kinda backlash.

During mumbai terrorist attack couple of years ago, more than 30 tourist were killed mostly from UK and US, it got the same media attention....Indian authorities were stupid and took 14 hours to get their special task force to rescue the hostage..apparently, the elite force were stationed in delhi and they had no fuel ready to come to Mumbai..they were criticized by the Israeli mossed for not being upto mark..as they were unable to save a rabbi family....Army was called in and they took 3 days to rescue all hostage and more than 300 people were killed. I was in mumbai and watched closely all the pathetic attempts to rescue hostages.

No body from UK and US cared what happened to the degree we are seeing in Philippines.

My point is if it wasn't for emerging China...no body would have made such a noise. All UK and US would have done is accept the apology and go on with life...i don't think we would have seen 80,000 people in US protest against Philippine's.

Man i never thought the backlash would be this severe against filipinos. they are not that bad. s*hit happens in third world countries. I would forever be wary of Hong Kongers....no hanky panky business with any Chinese to Hong kong folks :)
