I'm a gyopo american and I'm thinking about heading to the hill for the first time today. Just wondering what to expect, like how much a beer is, if I would need to buy any ladydrinks and what the going rate is these days. I've read a little about it and the service seems alot better on the hill than it is in the RLD. Is that the case?

Beers on the hill are in the 5, 000 range. If you just drink up at Polly's, you can get a soju kettle (soju mixed with your choice of fruit punch, cider, cola, whatever) for somewhere around 7, 000 to 9, 000. That's a liter of drink, and lasts a while, if you don't mind sweet drinks. Lady drinks in the girly bars will run you 20, 000, and she'll talk to you for anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, then ask you to buy more.

What I don't understand (and get a kick out of) are the guys who March up that hill acting like they're players, dropping 20, 000 on lady drinks every time they are asked. Pretty soon they've spent 200, 000 and haven't even had other fun. That's when the girls know they've got a sucker, and will try to squeeze top-dollar out of the guy for other services. Good for the ladies. Bad for the dudes.

Truth is, if you're not too old, look nice, and are kind, you can get laid on the hill for under 100, 000 to 150, 000 max in several bars without buying drinks. It'll be quick, though.

Pretty funny story that happened to CeCe years ago (she's long, long gone. Married a Korean doctor) when I was on my first stint in Korea. A guy used his credit card and dumped over a million on it in one night, then he canceled the card the next day, claiming it was stolen. I don't know what ever came out of that one, but obviously he regretted what had happened. I walked in to hear her arguing with the credit card company about it. I don't know what you're going for, but I'd suggest starting-out by heading up to Polly's or Stompers for a few drinks on your own (regular bars) , and keep an eye-out to see what ladies capture your attention. IMHO, the sexiest finds will be the gal in Tiger Club with fake boobs, the cute little spunky half Korean / Japanese woman a bar or two up from that (not the one that looks like Michael Jackson) , or the younger ladies in ABC club that are new and naive. If you're a gyopo, you'll have to open the door and speak English. They generally dislike ajosshi, and will shut the door on a drunk Korean guy. A gyopo who smiles, shows good manners, and offers to buy a drink for someone right away would have decent luck.

I can't speak for gyopos (yes, there is discrimination in these bars) but basically, if you are a non-Korean, buy no drinks, just ask for sex, manage to be a hard-head and not give in to the girl and mamasan begging you to buy drinks then you can get some action just for cash. Downside is, it will be quick and they will push you out fast. In all likelihood, lowest of all possible will be. 100, 000 for full monte. For a tug will be around 40 to 50, but they will really try to get you to push for a drink first.

The mamasan at ABC is a bit eccentric. The girls will tell you she's a kind person for feeding cats outside all day and night, but "nice" isn't the impression you'll get by any stretch. She can be a real challenge at times, unless you wave cash in front of her face. She'll get angry at you, shout at you, then ten seconds later be your buddy. Then she'll get angry again. Just roll with it, say nice things, and buy a drink for your girl if she gets nasty.

As someone they don't know, you're best off buying one or two drinks for the girl you like, getting to know her, and then asking what other services are available. ABC will take you in the back and pull down a blind if it's your basic tug or BJ, or across the street to a room for the full monte if the bar is busy. One of the girls usually lives in that apartment. There is also a small room and toilet in the back of ABC, but these days they keep that closed. Usually someone crashes there, too, and it's possible they may take you there.

Years ago, as in early 2000's during the end of my first stint in Korea, there was a lady named Youngsan (or Youngsun) that worked at Tiger. She was A#1 in my book, at the time. She had it all, including humor, and service was outstanding. Alas, I heard she moved away and married some dude from the UK. She disappeared around 2003.

Then, who could forget Dallas Club (now Moonshine). Other than names of the women, which I have forgotten. There were two very hot ladies from Jeju who worked in there. Guys used to line up for the thinner one, because she also had humor, great English, and gave great service. A number of ladies on the hill were jealous of her because she was always busy. It was rare to see her door open. I know of more than a few months where she easily earned 10+ million. These two disappeared around 2003 just before the troops began patrolling and things went "off limits" for army guys. It's 3/4 of the way up the hill and on the left. Prettier ladies in there usually show up around 9 to 10pm, with sometimes 1 coming in around 7. The young, very healthy girl with well-done fingernails will meet several of the things on your list.

Cheers opens between 9 and 10, and the girls can show up randomly anytime after that. Usually all are there by 10:30. You'll be paying more for a girl from Cheers, as they are younger, prettier, generally a lot cleaner, and they know it. A while back some lurker on this site informed some SPs on the hill, so they have been monitoring it. Your comments are already circulating, and is affecting quality of service and price. Moreover, they probably even know who you are now. To be honest, it is refreshing to have new talent on the hill, but when explicit details are provided, it doesn't last very long. In fact, LE (law enforcement) has increased their presence as well (last Thursday night). Moreover, Punters in all shapes and sizes start frequenting them more often, thereby hardening the chicks and lessening the experience. I recognize this is inevitable, but it would be nice to enjoy for a while first. Case in point:Nana at Molin Rouge. Too much traffic and detail was provided here, so she eventually closed up shop (among other reasons).
