Thanks for the list of hotels
You don't say why you consider these two hotels. I don't choose either of them. There are other options but Hard to see what tou look for other than smoking.
I prefer Grand President I guess. Citadines 23 had hard beds and hard staff a few years back. Never return there.
My favorite Hotels in the near to Soi 23 area are Column, Grand Mercure, Mermaid, Admiral Premier, Silq and Fx, and Grand Millenium, depending on budget or price specials.
The reason I chosen those two factored in several things. I wanted to be 5 min walking distance from Nana or Asoke bts area. I know walking is good for me but now days. It's not favorite thing. Also I wanted to have separate area for sleeping and common area because I need my work area. Lastly, I wanted to stay around $60 per night because last night, because of flight schedule, I need to have extra day without sleeping.
Thanks for the list of hotels. It helps and check them as well.
Paradiso Boutique Suites GF, cheap, nice and great location
I want to recommend a hotel that I stayed on my last BKK visit that truly was an upside surprise and I'm likely to stay here from now on. Paradiso Boutique Suites, three star hotel. Fantastic for light sleepers because it is very quiet. Midway between Nana and Asok, on the quiet side of Sukhumvit, (the side without all the street vendors and touts). Location is fantastic. There are walk-over bridges that put you on the Soi 11 corridor. It is a great mid-location to walk to Nana, Soi Cowboy, Terminal 21, Thermae, Biergarten, etc, etc. The hotel is very quiet and adjacent to a large, quiet private park, "Chuvit Garden" . Completely GF, no joiner fees. Rates per night are in the $30 usd to 45 usd plus taxes. The rooms actually are very nice for this price and look like the pictures on the website. There are only six rooms per floor and about seven floors total. I never heard a sole while I was in the room at any hour. No outside noise either. Good shower, good bed, quiet room, half the cost of several nearby hotels. Strongly recommend this place if you don't need a swimming pool, spa, restaurant and breakfast. Covers the basics really well and is in the center of the action. Nearest hotel to it is the S15 Sukhumvit that is almost directly across the street.

Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit Asoke
I'm booked to stay at this hotel for a couple of nights in my next visit. On the map it looks like the closest hotel to Soi Cowboy. Looks like a nice hotel too. Any thoughts?
Hotels in close proximity to Cowboy
I'm booked to stay at this hotel for a couple of nights in my next visit. On the map it looks like the closest hotel to Soi Cowboy. Looks like a nice hotel too. Any thoughts?
The Pullman was originally known as the Grand Millennium Hotel Sukhumvit. I stayed there one time under the former management and enjoyed the modern room with all its conveniences and the great location. Hint: Bring your cowboy girls back into the hotel via the Soi 23 back entrance. Soi 23 provides a better (more romantic - ha ha) walk and the private entrance is a plus. The one thing I didn't like about this hotel was the very small and narrow lap swimming pool which by design is always in shade and has no view. IMHO the pool does not match the quality level of the hotel. What a shame.
Radison Blu, on the other hand, is of similar quality, price, and proximity to Cowboy, but the Blu has a nicer pool / patio bar area and a much better breakfast buffet. I enjoy inviting some of my favorite girls over to the Blu for afternoon swim, shag and late lunch/early dinner.
Grande Center Point T21 across Asok from the Pullman is another modern high quality hotel with a private entrance to the BTS station and easy access to the T21 shopping mall. I really like the gourmet supermarket located on the basement level of T21. The Grande Center Point T21 infinity pool is great. The hotel buffet breakfast is good too, but not as good as the Blu. If you feel like splurging, the one bedroom suites at the Grande Center Point are pricey but real nice and offer great views.
The Westin directly across from T21 on Soi 19 is the overall highest quality hotel in this post review. I stayed there for $103/night during the last 2 days of Songkran in April. That was a very good deal for a hotel of this quality level. The room was great - very large and 1st class all the way. The buffet breakfast was also very good, in fact they had the best honey due melon I ever ate. No shit! It had this amazing flavor. I never tasted a honey due so sweet. The pool is good too and I swear the pool waitress was hitting on me.
There are several other hotels in close proximity to Asok / Sukumvit and Cowboy. I will let other board members review those hotels.
