What is the general standard of service there with regard to good stuff like BBBJ, DFK, anal, etc? Or is there a discernable standard? Reasonably priced Sunday options are so rare and this is one. Sorry Puta Playa, Copamassage is closed on Sunday. However, Luomo is just a block away and open on Sunday. Copamassage is all you can accomplish in your scheduled time period (anal is R$ 20, 00 extra and YMMV.)

There are actually some yokels on this forum who consider CR a mongering heaven. That having been said, however, I would add that if you live in the US and aren't up for a long plane ride and an expensive air fare and are seeking some inexpensive pussy, some of these Central American and Caribbean countries such as CR, ES, and DR do have their place. Like for a long weekend, for example. But they don't compare to the Meccas of mongering that you mention. Just my two cents worth; take it or leave it

I agree with Lorenzo. Sometimes a long plane ride to Rio or Thailand isn't workable. In which case, Colombia or the DR works fine for me.

I did 2 weeks in Sosua, and it got old after 4-5 days! I can do 2 weeks in Rio and I need more time.

The girls are more conservative, know the game, keep it safe and sane, and their services pretty much common. A lot of girls in the meccas like Rio either just love sex, or they don't know their market value because the service varies so much. Not so in San Jose.

Let's take an example of what does happen in Rio that doesn't seem to happen there. One day I had a 'Type A' girl at Luomo who wouldn't do CIM, the next afternoon I was in the casas on Rio Branco and a 'Type B' girl of the same quality was offering BBFS, took anal and CIM and a gave me a kick ass massage for 1/3 the Luomo price. Mid December. 2010, was may first time back to Rio since HELP closed and I must admit, things look pretty dismal, with regards to a night life and specifically a mongering night life in Rio (IMHO). The action in downtown, centro is still pretty good (thank God) , with only a moderate price increase.

There's not much that I want to say about Balcony / Dolce Vita, other than it really wasn't my kinda scene. Much of what has already been said about Balcony / Dolce Vita area, is still very true. The quality of the girls, is OK, but not great and yes, even the Transvestites, can be found there in numbers.

Balcony was just a zoo. Way too unruly, wild and boisterous for me to have a truly good time. So most of the time I would just stand outside, chat with some of the other girls standing outside and watch all the commotion happen for a while.

Dolce Vita scene, didn't look any better as many of the same girls drifted between there and Balcony. I did see the odd stunner go into Dolce Vita, but not enough to make it worthwhile to pay to enter.

According to a friend of mine, who has seen the preliminary plans (or talked with an associated that has seen the plans, [I forget which]) , Praca Maua and immediate area is up for gentrification. So from the looks of things, and according to the plans, Bar Florida, Filipino Bar and the other smaller stalls, will no longer be there, within about 2 to 3 years.

With the new overhead metro rail in place, the entrance to VM is almost unnoticeable. All of the fanfare, vendors and buskers are gone from the entrance and if you didn't know any better, you'd walk right on by and miss it. Part of the clean up I guess!

- Much cleaner VM that previous years, so that was a pleasant change.
- VM wasn't as much fun for me on this particular Saturday night (early Dec 2010). I guess, perhaps because there weren't any hot girls to be found this night, dotted throughout the landscape, as can be usually found.
- Not too mention the attitudes seem to have gotten even harder.
- Prices have slightly risen also.

[B]Centro de Lazer. 13 (Praça Olavo Bilac-Centro) [/B]
Praça Olavo Bilac, is a pedestrian street with a few boites that are quite good for as far as low-end centro boites go. Located just off Rua Bueno Rosário, 164 at the floral shop.

Centro de Lazer. 13 is probably the best of the bunch.
- The rooms are not great, but adequate, with showers and towels provided. Just asked the presiding 'tia'.
- Drinks: Coka-Cola-R$3, Beer-R$4-5.
- Entrada is free.
- About 10-15 girls. Programa for 15min-R$27, 20min-R$37, 30min-R$45 (If I remember correctly)

Overall Rio is getting to be a very expensive place to hobby (IMO) and although the quality of the women isn`t as good as past years, the quality of the sex still remains high. So Rio / Brazil, is still tops on my list, however I've began to give Columbia some serious thought.

On each table was a sign letting patrons know they can celebrate their New Year there for R$400 per person. Bring a kid along for R$200.
